Do those number include the pension/health insurance cost?
At The January 5th Town Board Organizational meeting, salary schedules were approved for town officials and employees. They differ than those posted in the 2009 budget.

This is confusing. If i understand it correctly, the board approved paying 2009 salaries that were less than budgeted.
My questions are, is the resolution binding? Is the town actually cutting salaries? Was the January 5 resolution written, presented, and approved with incorrect information? At what rate are the town employees being paid, at the budgeted rate or the January 5th approved rate? If the January 5th resolution is incorrect, who's responsible for preparing it? If the January 5th resolution is incorrect, how come the stupervisor and trustees didn't catch the mistake and correct it? If it is incorrect what line are they going to feed us about how it happened.
On the other hand, if the January 5th resolution is correct and they are paying town employees less than budgeted, did hell freeze over? Does that mean the town is actually taking taxpayers concerns seriously?
We just don't know.
The town board creates the problems and when the residents complain, the town board tells them it's the resident's fault.

To answer your questions as best I can:
The scheduled salary list covers just salaries - adding benefit, retirement and other entitlement costs, there are several town employees receiving total compensations over $100,000.
Except for elected officials all other salaries listed and approved in the January 5th Organizational meeting are form 2008 or earlier.
Should the town post a new salary list; only if the salary amounts differ from the budget? Otherwise the town is going to say that the new salary structure was unknown because none of the town contracts had been settled before the list was approved. Yet what about a few of the salaries that go back before 2008? That should be asked.
Hell didn't freeze over wag. When have you ever heard of a public sector entity ever not getting a salary increase? Don't you think that's why the town added rote 3% salary increases in the budget?
Lastly, it should be asked whether any police contract concessions were had. If not, it would be appropriate to ask why the hell we are paying outside counsel $233 an hour for. And considering the negotiations took so long, what was the cost to the taxpayer?
I am unable to make the Town Board meeting tomorrow - a first in many moons. Hopefully, the "you guys" will be there to ask some of the above questions.
