This audit’s results and recommendations are resources for local government officials to use ineffectively managing operations and in meeting the expectations of their constituents.

Lancaster held no public hearings on reliever airport expansion

At the January 17th Lancaster town board meeting resident Kevin Lemaster, a member of the Safe Aviation Coalition (SAC), addressed the board and told them that he has been in contact with the FAA questioning their decision to fund the airport project through the years, or to even fund it in the first place without public hearings.

Town of Lancaster did not act responsibly on police building project say residents; Part III: Lawsuit

One of the charges made by Councilman Mark Aquino in his Lancaster Bee editorial was that a citizen lawsuit delayed the police facility project from moving forward. For that reason a change in building codes over that period of time resulted in the cancellation of the Walden Avenue Colecraft building project and the change to a new build on Pavement Road.

In a recent Lancaster Bee ‘Letter to the Editor’ publication, Town of Lancaster Councilman Mark Aquino opined that the town acted responsibly throughout the eight year period from purchase of the 3949 Walden Avenue Colecraft building to the decision to change plans and construct a new build on Pavement Road.

“Is there anything going on with the plans to renovate the Walden Avenue police building,” the writer asked the Lancaster Town board at Monday evening’s meeting. “Nothing has changed,” replied Council Member Ronald Ruffino. “We are still crunching the numbers and nothing has changed.”

Kevin Gaughan presented his study, The Cost, to a receptive gathering at Hallwalls yesterday evening. The study was to determine the cost of our elected officials in the Greater Buffalo area (Erie County). The purpose of the study was not only to reveal what taxpayers are paying for local government, but also to compare our area to other areas in the Country.
