In the current primary yes. How does "Dawn" relate to "Diane" ? Has Diane voted to bypass the tax cap. That is something I wouldn't approve of Diane, Dawn or who ever.

What I don't understand is why do some people think property taxes increasing on average year after year is acceptable. Specially when there are people in the community who need to make hard choices like "Do I keep my home" or "do I get the medications I need"...

Then you have those that will say "Well if you can't afford it you have to move".

I would rather say "Don't be a door matt and let people walk all over you".

My comment went right over your head.

I understand it as "Dawn voted Yes 3 times to over-ride the tax cap"

She allowed the door to be open if taxes had to go over the 2% cap.

    Correct?

    Res,

To raise taxes per tax cap override required a second vote. I believe there was no such vote.

I guess, I'm the uneducated one on this one. I never knew she was a LIBERAL Democrat and the clerk post has been stated as being a non-political post.
Atleast, that;'s what I read from the speakup posters.

Considering Dawn has been on the town board for three budgets. There was no override resolution presented this year (2019) - no need for it.

So that makes two. If I remember correctly she did not vote for the one.

No tax cap levy override was ever used so why all hoopla?

    Based from this

    Facts:

Dawn voted Yes 3 times to over-ride the tax cap
Dawn voted Yes on every liberal initiative submitted by the Democratic Supervisor
Dawn voted Yes to raise taxes in each of her 3 years on the board
Dawn voted Yes to award a $282,000 no bid contract to a firm who's spouse works for the town

Um, I would think the best person for the Supervisory seat would be Ron Ruffino. He voted no on these liberal initiatives....

You were the one who used the Liberal term (post #4 of this thread). Party affiliation for a Town Clerk's position has no impact on me.

Oops, I used the term 'Liberal Conservative' as in Gaczewski

A very basic but BRILLIANT point.

Town Clerk is a SERVICE office, whose duties and responsibilities are limited to those designated by statute.

Someone needs to tell Ms. Terranova's opposition Town Clerk is not a legislative seat, nor is it a bully pulpit. IMHO, their inappropriate rhetoric highlights their lack of understanding and experience, reduces their credibility, and raises public awareness to Diane's skill, competence, and experience.

Diane Terranova is eminently qualified, and without question, is deserving of re-election.

As to the other 'Facts' presented by another poster whose residency and voting rights are in question, or your not being a Lancaster resident, most of those claims have been already been discussed on Speakup and refuted.

22% of the town's voters are now registered as 'blanks' (unaffiliated). I would hope they would get out to vote in higher percentages, but too often they don't because of the deceit and nonsense being fed to them by the major parties. Unfortunately, too many of them have taken my position: "With rare exception, all politicos suck!" Unfortunately, they do not participate in the political process, or vote.

I agree with those who write that such candidates compete only to "create chaos." I also believe that they act strictly on behalf of dark, self-serving political actors.

One only has to look to Bob Leary's sad fortunes in 2017 to understand that, and to appreciate the adage "Don't take anything for granted."

Was he beaten by a phantom candidate? I thought he lost because he didn't get out door-to-door enough?
