I agree with you and most importantly, i think THIS region is ready for this type of change. Our leaders are not, but the people are, i mean look at all the talk now about shrinking town boards, this was unheard of years ago.
The majority of taxpayers do not benifit from MOST of the tax dollars they pay out and when times are tight are really looking to cut back! I agree that Erie county can't just into 1 school district, but merging MANY into a few would be a start and with that people will see that you CAN cut back without losing quality!

I never said I had no idea about most of the things you said I said I had no idea about.
Elimination of ALL government schools is the only "reform" I support.

Why is that?
If we used a complete voucher system it may work, it will break up a lot of the unions, eliminate the wonderful tenure system you guys have. It honestly may be the only step the eliminate that that that NYS spend $14K a year PER student and is still in the middle of the pack. Meanwhile you have states like UTAH that spend less than 6K a student and are ranked pretty high!

That's an assertion, not an argument.
And calling "education" what goes on in many government schools is more of a prayer than a description.
One of the effects of government schools is the closing off of debate on many topics as "insane" and "ignorant."
The educated mind should be open and skeptical and hungry for facts and logic. Does that sound like the typical government high school grad? Some can't even place the Civil War in the correct century.
The (proximate) cause was Lincoln's decision to send troops into Virginia on May 27, 1861.
That's a no-brainer.
Of course, no government school in the country teaches that.
There's private schools in some of the poorest cities in the third world.
Again, you have to open your mind to new facts and ideas.

I doubt that Keyboard teaches anything like that in his government classroom. Based on prior posts, I've eliminated economics, history, reading comprehension, and logic from the list of classes he's qualified to teach. The (proximate) cause was Lincoln's decision to send troops into Virginia on May 27, 1861.
Keyboard, why don't you tell us what subject you fill those kids heads with in your government classroom. It would be interesting to hear which subject you are actively defiling.

"Well that was the cause for Virgina to succeed but not the Carolinas."
I was talking about the cause of the war not the secessions.
