I just love the Heritage trail. Wish that I would have used it years ago.
After losing 45 pounds, I needed a way to maintain the loss and still be
able to eat my 4 Hershey bars and a bowl or two of chocolate ice cream a day.
(I gave up smoking 8.5 years ago after 40 years of 1.5 to 2 packs a day. I can't give up everything.
)
Only walk it on my days off but try to do two 5 mile trips on those days - one morning and one afternoon. Even yesterday, with all the rain, I got them both in. Carried an umbrella for the afternoon gig, in case it rained again.
The parks department does a GREAT job keeping everything mowed nicely along the sides of the trail. The people who use it are very respectful of the property. You very rarely see anyone's trash or dog doo-doo on the trail. The trail is a GREAT asset to the community.
I've attended my grandsons' baseball games at Westwood, years ago but want to check out their trail when they close the Heritage trail for hunting season.
Never attended anything at Walden pond since my granddaughter was never interested in baseball or haven't really been to other parks except walking my dog a few times through Meadowlea
Anyone else have a favorite venue?
