I always wondered about that.

If you think about it, the national news isn't very arbitrary. In a country the size of ours with a population the size of ours just about every story could be told again and again and again. Yet, it seems all the major media outlets cling to the same stories.

Want a real eye opener? Google "student expelled bomb threat", "student assaults teacher" , "student attacks teacher", "teacher arrested", "female teacher arrested", "missing child" or " teacher assaults student" or even "school shooting threat", tons of stories across the nation from local news sources. In a country with our population these things are daily occurrences.

Who picks what national stories get play and why do some of them get so sensationalized when others go unnoticed in the national spot light?
