Tonawanda police say that a Newfane Middle School principal was arrested in a recent undercover crackdown on lewd and indecent behavior at Ellicott Creek Park.
Frank Waclawek, Jr., 46, of Sanborn was given an appearnace ticket and charged with a misdemeanor sex abuse infraction. If the case is not resolved by the start of the school year, Waclawek may not start the year at Newfane Middle School.
Waclawek has been principal of the school since 1995.
Town of Tonawanda police have periodically been sweeping the public park for inappropriate sexual behavior. They say that the activity has centered around consenting adult males and hasn't involved kids or families.
