After the Odessa Police Department looked like fools for raiding a house that was growing Christmas trees the cops are looking for blood. They have contacted a local newspaper and demanded information to trace the people that posted comments on a news story. Currently the newspaper has said no to the demand but this brings up a few questions.

1. Should taxpayers be forced to fund a PD that uses police time and resources to run a modern day witch hunt

2. By demanding the records are they infringing on one or more parts of the 1st amendment to the constitution, Freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom to assemble?
