As a property owner I wouldn't say it's a big expense unless I had the actual number in front of me. Who wouldn't agree with this? I would also look at some of the facts like:

The original k9 officer got a dog donated for free, trained and ready to go.

So if the original employee who had the previous dog has a new dog what "training of the handler" is David talking about?

Salary implications?

How funny. The townboard/crew never met a raise they didn't go for yet now the excuse of "bump in pay" comes up. So when the original officer who had the dog no longer had the dog did the bump in pay get removed? IF not why not? It could be applied to the new person who handled the dog. My opinion is we would let the same person, if they wanted to, have the new dog.

So what happened to the other vehicle the k9 officer used?

What does this have to do with anything?

What is the opinion of the K9 officer on this topic?

Is the town charged anything when this happens from the other agencies?

I thought we are referring to a drug sniffing dog not a bomb dog. If so this is irrelevant.

So what are the issues?

Did we have issues with the old dog and the K9 officer?

I thought we were already donated a dog for free so what is he talking about?
