Cities across Western New York were recently selected to take part in the state's poverty reduction program. As part of the initiative, Gov. Andrew Cuomo set aside $1 million for each of the cities in last year's budget. Jamestown is one of 16 cities across the state, along with Buffalo and Niagara Falls, listed as among the poorest.
