"Can I git me a huntin' license here?"

I've been hoping for a doofus statement like this one from Kerry. This classic
"Snooty Elitist Trying to Act Like a Regular Guy" was so embarrassing, it followed him everywhere.

But where was it going to come from. Which Dem would step in it.

And like manna from heaven, here it is. And it's from Lurch again.

"Do well in school or you'll end up in Iraq."

Every major Dem has been silent for the last three weeks. Bob Beckel and other Dem spokesmen have described the strategy: when your enemy is shooting themselves, just stay out of the line of fire.

But not Kerry. I can't believe he spoke up. But why shouldn't the dumbest elected Dem speak up?

Chuck Schumer must be beside himself. He's smart, aggressive, wily, mean, nasty and purely partisan evil. The perfect guy to win back the Senate for the Dems. And he's got to put with a moron like Lurch, 'cause he's got no choice.

Any truth to the rumor that Chuck was heard muttering, "With friends like Lurch, who needs enemas?"

Democrat candidates who had scheduled Kerry to appear with them today and the next few days are now cancelling his appearance.

Does this mean that Kerry really is the dumbest Democrat standing?
