Democrats and the mainstream media had no problem identifying Trump as the ‘liar-in-chief.

Blaming Trump for the border crisis is astonishingly a bold face lie. Biden send a signal to illegals to come on up, denies he did so, lied that a great majority of illegals are being returned, denies media access to take pictures of the overcrowding and squalor conditions, etc.

What is most upsetting is the crowding and 10% confirmed Covid cases, lack of concern on the number of illegals that are improperly processed and sent on their way to infect Americans who are still under strict Covid restrictive guidelines. Schools, restaurants, etc. cannot open due to Covid concerns, but our border is now open. Go figure! Stupid is as stupid does!

Biden refuses to acknowledge or apologize for the crisis, dumps it into Harris' hands who in turn announces she will not be dealing with the border crisis, rather with the root cause – whatever that means.

The cost to American citizens in treasure and resources is astounding. The health and wellbeing endangerment to Americans and the illegal children is a travesty.

The Republican contingency that visited the border presented a startling picture of the border situation. The Democratic contingency visiting the border blames Trump.

Hypocrisy and political BS as usual.

    We remain screwed!

I would hope so as 80 million voted for a man who is taking this country further left with socialist policies and bankrupting the country as well.

Read on the concept of totalitarianism and tell me why I am wrong.

Maybe, but then we don’t have Trump to kick around anymore – or do we. Didn’t Biden slip and say, “If there is a Republican Party anymore. The Dems and cancel culture crowd are trying to make that happen. Oh wait, there is no such thing as ‘cancel culture’, right?

I think the country is nowhere close to what you imply with this fret: "What is happening to my country?" Try thinking about something positive for a change.
I try to think positive but then thoughts like the Biden caused border crisis enters my mind – the endangerment and suffering of the children, the fear of Covid transfer into a country with restrictive citizen guidelines; where schools are closed, businesses still suffering or closing, stuff like that. Biden’s cancelling Trump’s legacy is like throwing out the baby with the bathwater.

I have to start hanging with different people. The individuals I do hang with feel the same as I – regardless of political party affiliation. HR1 legislation, identification not required for voting, felons allowed to vote, non-residents having same rights as American citizens, etc. Those things just seem to put a damper on citizens who are suffering emotionally and where suicide rates are at an all time high. You reading anything on that in your Biden in-the-tank media world? Do you not take issue with any of the lies told by Biden? Like, 'We came into office without the vaccine." Or, "We are sending the majority of the illegals crossing the border back."

The administration is now to be called, "The Biden-Harris administration as it moves further left. This doesn't bother you? Get your **** together, they all suck! The only difference is the Dems are selling out our country to get the votes! There is no wrong for you when it comes to the Democratic purists.

Tell me again how much more fortunate I am having this bozo in place vs. the disposed bozo. I'm just not feeling it.

Democrats are seeking to turn the nation into one massive blue state.

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/polit...?ocid=msedgntp

Liberal control over Congress has already resulted in a number of measures that shift state and local autonomy to bureaucrats in Washington. The original framework and function of the Constitution is slipping away into increasing federal control of elections, taxation, and other aspects of American life. The sudden concentration of power goes well beyond the federalization of regional governments. Increasing national control through direct and indirect means has more in common with nationalization a banana republic may use to control foreign-owned industry, in this case, seizing locally controlled political power and putting it in the power of national agencies.

Ben Franklin's famous quote of a "republic, if you can keep it" is in special peril with the Biden White House and Democrats in Congress.

    Stupid is as stupid does

Columnist Eugene Robinson writes today that over 43,000 were killed by gunfire this year and wonders why the government does not react.
Robinson focuses on the two mass shootings within the space of a week and then writes:

The problem is that the nation is cursed with an absurdly and tragically vast oversupply of guns.

The United States is the only nation on the planet where there are more guns in civilian hands than there are civilians, having about 120 privately owned guns per 100 citizens.

But there was a sharp increase in what we must shamefully call garden-variety gun violence, with about 19,380 homicides by firearms and about 24,000-gun suicides last year. In total, then, more than 43,000 Americans were killed by guns.

With more than 390 million firearms already in private hands in this country, those determined to get their hands on guns are almost surely going to succeed.

Congress should approve universal background checks, a gun-purchase waiting period, a national firearms registry and an assault weapons ban.

We need to get the guns not just off our streets but also out of our homes. People who buy guns for “self-defense” aren’t likely to use them that way, and if they do, they’re more likely to end up injured in the encounter.

    Comment

I would dare say that the great majority of gun owners would agree that: Congress should approve universal background checks, a gun-purchase waiting period, a national firearms registry, and an assault weapons ban.

I would dare say that the great majority of Americans would disagree with Robinson on getting guns out of our homes. At a time when left-leaning pundits like Robinson can safely speak out advocate for extreme gun control and confiscation, those in opposition must in turn speak out (while there’s time) and point out the root cause of gun violence and why there is such a proliferation of guns.

Yes, Mr. Robinson, people who buy guns for “self-defense” aren’t likely to use them that way, and if they do, they’re more likely to end up injured in the encounter. They are willing to take that risk and it is their right!

Defunding the police, just cause for shooting an armed burglar in your own home, resisting and causing harm to the burglar is cause for lawsuit, defenselessness in assault attempts, etc., where does it all end.

What’s next, hanging a sign on the front door reading: Please notify us when you will be here to rob us, so we won’t be home and no one in my family gets raped or hurt (including you)!

    Stupid is as stupid does!

Covid, are we being played by the Biden administration?

This old fool who received his second Covid shot three weeks ago finally found some positive news in the NBC report posted below. The sky is not falling!

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said the rise in cases — an average increase of 10 percent from the previous week — gave her a sense of "impending doom."

Dr. Fauci and the Biden administration continue to send conflicting, ominous reports on the virus that one day indicate normalcy is soon on the way, and doom-and-gloom the next.

Drs.Fauci and Brix acting like typical deceiving politicos throw Trump under the bus in this report:

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/med...?ocid=msedgntp

    The positive news:

Vaccines are working. The latest surge in Covid cases proves that.

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/med...?ocid=msedgntp

People under 60 are accounting for the majority of new Covid-19 cases across the country — likely a testament to the success of the vaccines that have been administered to primarily older, more vulnerable Americans.

The trend toward younger patients with milder illness is likely the reason many intensive care units are no longer inundated with severe cases.

"The cases we are seeing are the younger groups that probably aren't eligible for vaccines just yet," Davis said.

    Don’t widen the plate!

A story told 25 years ago befitting today’s generation and political climate.!

Twenty-four years ago, in Nashville, Tennessee, during the first week of January 1996, more than 4,000 baseball coaches descended upon the Opryland Hotel for the 52nd annual ABCA's convention.

While I waited in line to register with the hotel staff, I heard other more veteran coaches rumbling about the lineup of speakers scheduled to present during the weekend. One name kept resurfacing, always with the same sentiment — “John Scolinos is here? Oh, man, worth every penny of my airfare.”

Who is John Scolinos, I wondered? No matter: I was just happy to be there.

In 1996, Coach Scolinos was 78 years old, and five years retired from a college coaching career that began in 1948 He shuffled to the stage to an impressive standing ovation, wearing dark polyester pants, a light blue shirt, and a string around his neck from which home plate hung — a full-sized, stark-white home plate.

Seriously, I wondered, who is this guy?

After speaking for twenty-five minutes, not once mentioning the prop hanging around his neck, Coach Scolinos appeared to notice the snickering among some of the coaches. Even those who knew Coach Scolinos had to wonder exactly where he was going with this, or if he had simply forgotten about home plate since he’d gotten on stage. Then, finally …

“You’re probably all wondering why I’m wearing home plate around my neck,” he said, his voice growing irascible. I laughed along with the others, acknowledging the possibility. “I may be old, but I’m not crazy. The reason I stand before you today are to share with you baseball people what I’ve learned in my life, what I’ve learned about home plate in my 78 years.”

Several hands went up when Scolinos asked how many Little League coaches were in the room. “Do you know how wide home plate is in Little League?”

After a pause, someone offered, “Seventeen inches?”, more of a question than answer.

“That’s right,” he said. “How about in Babe Ruth’s day? Any Babe Ruth coaches in the house?” Another long pause.

“Seventeen inches?” a guess from another reluctant coach.

“That’s right,” said Scolinos. “Now, how many high school coaches do we have in the room?” Hundreds of hands shot up, as the pattern began to appear. “How wide is home plate in high school baseball?”

“Seventeen inches,” they said, sounding more confident.

“You’re right!” Scolinos barked. “And you college coaches, how wide is home plate in college?”

“Seventeen inches!” we said, in unison.

“Any Minor League coaches here? How wide is home plate in pro ball?” “Seventeen inches!”

“RIGHT! And in the Major Leagues, how wide home plate is in the Major Leagues?

    “Seventeen inches!”

“SEV-EN-TEEN INCHES!” he confirmed, his voice bellowing off the walls. “And what do they do with a Big-League pitcher who can’t throw the ball over seventeen inches?” Pause. “They send him to Pocatello!” he hollered, drawing raucous laughter “What they don’t do is this: they don’t say, ‘Ah, that’s okay, Jimmy. If you can’t hit a seventeen-inch target? We’ll make it eighteen inches or nineteen inches We’ll make it twenty inches, so you have a better chance of hitting it. If you can’t hit that, let us know so we can make it wider still, say twenty-five inches.'”

Pause “Coaches… what do we do when your best player shows up late to practice? or when our team rules forbid facial hair, and a guy shows up unshaven? What if he gets caught drinking? Do we hold him accountable? Or do we change the rules to fit him? Do we widen home plate? "

The chuckles gradually faded as four thousand coaches grew quiet, the fog lifting as the old coach’s message began to unfold. He turned the plate toward himself and, using a Sharpie, began to draw something. When he turned it toward the crowd, point up, a house was revealed, complete with a freshly drawn door and two windows. “This is the problem in our homes today. With our marriages, with the way we parent our kids. With our discipline.

We don’t teach accountability to our kids, and there is no consequence for failing to meet standards. We just widen the plate!”

Pause Then, to the point at the top of the house he added a small American flag “This is the problem in our schools today. The quality of our education is going downhill fast, and teachers have been stripped of the tools they need to be successful, and to educate and discipline our young people. We are allowing others to widen home plate! Where is that getting us?”

Silence. He replaced the flag with a Cross. “And this is the problem in the Church, where powerful people in positions of authority have taken advantage of young children, only to have such an atrocity swept under the rug for years. Our church leaders are widening home plate for themselves! And we allow it.”

“And the same is true with our government. Our so-called representatives make rules for us that don’t apply to themselves. They take bribes from lobbyists and foreign countries. They no longer serve us. And we allow them to widen home plate! We see our country falling into a dark abyss while we just watch.”

I was amazed. At a baseball convention where I expected to learn something about curve balls and bunting and how to run better practices, I had learned something far more valuable.

From an old man with home plate strung around his neck, I had learned something about life, about myself, about my own weaknesses and about my responsibilities as a leader. I had to hold myself and others accountable to that which I knew to be right, lest our families, our faith, and our society continue down an undesirable path.

“If I’m lucky,” Coach Scolinos concluded, “you will remember one thing from this old coach today. It is this: "If we fail to hold ourselves to a higher standard, a standard of what we know to be right; if we fail to hold our spouses and our children to the same standards, if we are unwilling or unable to provide a consequence when they do not meet the standard; and if our schools & churches & our government fail to hold themselves accountable to those they serve, there is but one thing to look forward to …”

With that, he held home plate in front of his chest, turned it around, and revealed its dark black backside, “…We have dark days ahead!.”

Note: Coach Scolinos died in 2009 at the age of 91, but not before touching the lives of hundreds of players and coaches, including mine. Meeting him at my first ABCA convention kept me returning year after year, looking for similar wisdom and inspiration from other coaches. He is the best clinic speaker the ABCA has ever known because he was so much more than a baseball coach. His message was clear: “Coaches, keep your players—no matter how good they are—your own children, your churches, your government, and most of all, keep yourself at seventeen inches.

And this my friends are what our country has become and what is wrong with it today, and now go out there and fix it!

    "Don't widen the plate."

Cancel culture getting uglier and more absurd.

For an 84-year-old-man who loves and attended / watched numerous football and baseball games on TV, the passion is dwindling because of the nonsense of cancelling an All-Star game to make a political statement.

I have had to show identification my entire life when voting, visiting a doctor’s office, getting a drivers license, getting credit / credit cards. Even at my age when purchasing a six-pack of beer in a grocery store.

Baseball and companies like Coca-Cola and Delta should grow a set!

MLB All-Star Game yanked from Georgia over voting law.

    https://apnews.com/article/mlb-baseb...49cae498ccbbe0

“I have decided that the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport is by relocating this year’s All-Star Game and MLB draft,” Manfred said. “Major League Baseball fundamentally supports voting rights for all Americans and opposes restrictions to the ballot box.”

Delta CEO Ed Bastian labeled the law “unacceptable,” while Coca-Cola chief executive James Quincey called the legislation a “step backward.”

“This attack on our state is the direct result of repeated lies from (President) Joe Biden and Stacey Abrams about a bill that expands access to the ballot box and ensures the integrity of our elections,” Kemp said.

In a statement, Trump blasted the move and urged his supporters to “boycott baseball and all of the woke companies that are interfering with Free and Fair Elections.”

The Corrupt Politicians Act – HR1

Despite being out of office since January 2oth, Trump continues to be savaged and blamed for everything by the mainstream media while Biden gets a pass.

A pass from the mainstream media but not form other media outlets who present a different view:

Texas AG defends 'public charge' rule on immigrants, public assistance dropped by Biden and HR1

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/te...?ocid=msedgntp

Add to that the other hot topics of the day seen through different eyes:

The border ‘situation’ is Trump’s fault. Deportations and Arrests of Immigrants in the U.S. Illegally Fall Sharply Under Biden – Trump’s fault. Biden and Harris missing in action – no plan.

Pelosi backs taxing the hell out of the wealthy but supports adding tax break for wealthier homeowners to Biden infrastructure bill – a benefit to her and the blue state of California. Pelosi called the cap “mean-spirited,” and “a political action on the part of the Republicans.”

Less than 30% of the $2.2 trillion infrastructure bill goes directly for infrastructure.

Hunter Biden, in new memoir, offers lurid details of addiction but sidesteps scandals. Most likely will be seen as a victim by the left and mainstream media.

NYPD memo tells officers not to stop New Yorkers smoking marijuana in public. It says that smoking marijuana in places such as sidewalks, on front stops and other public places "is not a basis for an approach, stop, summons, arrest or search." Public safety be damned. Legalizing marijuana is all about the money and getting the vote..

Democrats, don’t pass the SALT (cap repeal). It would mainly benefit the rich.

Indeed! A great tutorial for blue state governors and Nancy Pelosi in particular.

    Liar, liar, pants on fire

Trump's out, Dems are in and yet the BS continues!

Moody's estimated that the economy will add about 19 million jobs between the fourth quarter of 2020 and the fourth quarter of 2030 if the infrastructure proposal gets passed -- or add about 16.3 million jobs over the same period if the infrastructure proposal does not get passed. Therefore, the infrastructure proposal itself adds about 2.7 million jobs to the Moody's estimate, not all 19 million. The White House official said Deese intended to say Moody's found the infrastructure proposal would "help" create 19 million jobs, not that the proposal would itself create 19 million jobs. The Department of Transportation official said the same about Buttigieg.

While Democrats had previously expected to only have two opportunities to use the budget reconciliation process to get around Republican stonewalling, a new ruling by the Senate parliamentarian gives them two more opportunities beyond that.

Hunter Biden claims he doesn’t know if a damaged laptop whose contents were leaked to the media is his and doesn’t remember if he dropped a computer off at a repair shop, also claiming he doesn’t think the Secret Service was involved in responding to a gun incident a few years ago.

The Biden administration is lying to Americans on the border crisis and the mainstream media is covering for him.

CNN's Brian Stelter skips Biden's 'four Pinocchio’s' rating on media show after obsessing over Trump's falsehoods.

It benefits political agendas / self-interests and the media / businesses financially to have us hating one another. They are all so good at it and we suffer as a country because of it.

Turn around is fair play, eh?

The hated Trumpster, the alleged teller of thousands of lies is still getting savaged by the left and a mainstream media that goes soft and protective of the Biden-Harris administration. So, what's up with the Biden-Harris administration?

Now that President Joe Biden has proposed a massive $2 trillion-plus spending package, the collective response from big business and much of the public is basically: “No thanks, try again with a bill that is based on infrastructure alone – somewhere around 20-30% of the current bill and a bill that will not break the bank.” Biden’s plan is too expensive, too partisan, too laden with unrelated social policy and not at all what is intended.

Last week, Major League Baseball announced it would pull its All-Star Game out of Atlanta, and Biden said he "strongly support" players pushing to move the game. "It is reassuring to see that for-profit operations and businesses are speaking up about how these new Jim Crow laws that are just antithetical to who we are," the president tools reporters Tuesday. Today, he also tells them to be smart as the game is moved to Colorado.
(BTW – Jim Crow Laws, really?)

Biden will not confront China on virus origin.

Biden and Harris have yet to visit the border. Border agents have lost respect for both.

Harris has gone 13 days without holding a press conference since Biden tapped her for border crisis figurehead.

CBS intentional fraud newscast to smear DeSantis on Covid while staying quiet on Cuomo and Newsome. Hypocrisy to cancel DeSantis’ increasing popularity in the Republican Party.

Trump or Biden, we are still divided, still screwed!

Senator Rubio letter to MLB Commissioner Manfred

    Woof!

    April 5, 2021
    Mr. Robert Manfred
    Commissioner Major League Baseball
1271 Avenue of the Americas New York, NY 10020

    Dear Commissioner Manfred:

I write to ask you whether you intend to maintain your membership at Augusta National Golf Club. As you are well aware, the exclusive members-only club is located in the State of Georgia.

Last week, you “decided that the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport is by relocating this year’s All-Star Game” from Atlanta because of Georgia’s revised election law. It is a decision that will have a bigger impact on countless small and minority owned businesses in and around Atlanta, than the new election law ever will. And one that reeks of hypocrisy.

Will Major League Baseball now end its engagement with nations that do not hold elections at all like China and Cuba? Will you end your lucrative financial relationship with Tencent, a company with deep ties to the Communist Party and actively helps the Chinese Government hunt down and silence political dissidents? Since Major League Baseball now appears eager to use its “platform” to demonstrate “unwavering support” for fundamental human rights, will you cease your relationship with the Chinese Government, which at this very moment is committing genocide against the Uyghurs Muslims in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR)?

I am, of course, under no expectation any of this will happen. Taking the All-Star game out of Georgia is an easy way to signal virtues without significant financial fallout. But speaking out against the Chinese Communist Party would involve a significant loss of revenue and being closed out of a lucrative market.

In the end, as a citizen of a free nation you, and Major League Baseball, have the right to speak out against laws in the U.S. you disagree with, even if it is on the basis of false information. What would be truly bold, however, is if you would speak out on behalf of the voiceless who face arbitrary imprisonment, forced sterilization, coerced abortions, rape, and other horrific acts at the hands of one of your business partners. I am under no illusion that Major League Baseball will sacrifice business revenue on behalf of its alleged corporate values.

Similarly, I am under no illusion you intend to resign as a member from Augusta National Golf Club. To do so would require a personal sacrifice, as opposed to the woke corporate virtue signaling of moving the All-Star Game from Atlanta.

    Sincerely,
    Marco Rubio U.S. Senator.

The unconstitutional drizzle in Congress’ money shower seeks to control the states.

Control is the key word in Biden’s big government, far left socialist policies. An interesting read and help explain how Cuomo is flush with money and can give $2,2 billion in stimulus checks to migrants.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/opini...id=sf_opinions

The essence of progressivism’s agenda is to create a government-centered society by increasing government’s control of society’s resources, then distributing those resources in ways that increase the dependency of individuals and social groups on government. Hence this stipulation in Congress’s just-enacted $1.9 trillion money shower: None of the $350 billion allocated for state governments can be used to finance tax cuts.

So, the federal government is using the allocation of society’s financial resources to state governments to coerce them into maintaining their existing claims on such resources. This illustrates how progressives try to implement a leftward-clicking ratchet. The Supreme Court, whose duties in supervising democracy include reminding a forgetful Congress about federalism, should find the following provision unconstitutional.

Dragooning, commandeering, coercing, compelling — pick your gerund, the legal significance of the practices denoted is the same: The progressive drive to break the states to the saddle of the federal government, which progressives attempt for the purpose of producing an ever-more government-centered society, is unconstitutional.
