For God's sake, Biden's own DHS Secretary said that the investigation is ongoing and conclusions will be based on a facts-based investigation...

“I know the president was echoing sentiments of the American public response, images and what those images suggest, but I want to speak to the fact that this investigation will be based on facts that the investigators learn."
...so why is Biden prejudging the Border Patrol personnel?...

“I promise you, those people will pay. There is an investigation underway right now and there will be consequences."
Sounds as if Biden has his rapidly deteriorating mind already made-up, eh?

Sounds as if the President is putting a thumb on the scale in favor of those violating American law, does it not?

Should not one think that after over fifty years in public life, and previous his background as a practicing attorney, Biden would be highly sensitive to the concept of a presumption of innocence?

    Biden's failures keep adding up

Democrats and Republicans alike work to undermine each other’s accomplishments and hype each other’s shortcomings. In their efforts they create further hate and dismissiveness.

Biden is pushing a false narrative and gets a pass from the left-wing medial. It completely leaves out unfavorable news reports. Trump is their red meat for distraction. The Hunter Biden story well establishes the media bias / partnership

Other media are focusing on following reports:

Biden is lying to Americans. While he decries the abusive treatment of Haitians at the border he is deporting record numbers. Not true. At least 10,000 Haitians are still in the country detained or released, Covid untested or unvaccinated.

The Haitian horse whipping was a hoax – Biden, Harris, Maxine Waters, the left-wing media should be ashamed and made to apologize.

Only 10% of all illegals are deported.

'It's Just About Paying Your Fair Share, for Lord's Sake,' Biden Says. Biden said today the $3.5 trillion a still-evolving $3.5 trillion package of social safety net and climate programs is “going to be up and down” but” hopefully at the end of the day I'll be able to deliver on what I said I would do."
What has Biden done so far to ‘deliver on what he said he would do’?

Jesse Waters did an excellent job of summing up the list of Biden’s failures on his show today..

    Biden's failures keep piling up
    Joe’s not fighting for us

    https://www.foxnews.com/media/jesse-...keep-piling-up

JESSE WATTERS: Welcome to Watters World, I’m Jesse Watters. The jig is up for Joe Biden. His credibility is shot. The president’s approval rating hitting a new low of 43% as his failures keep piling up. In Afghanistan, Joe left Americans behind. He’s covering this up, this whole hostage crisis, still taking orders from the Taliban.

The commander in chief launching a hideous drone strike that hit the wrong target, killing kids instead of ISIS. Murders up everywhere, Biden’s crime plan failed. Inflation’s wiping out our wage gains. The recovery’s weak, and Biden hasn’t crushed COVID. He promised to unite us, but his mandates are dividing us. France pulled their ambassador, Russia hacked us to pieces, and OPEC told Joe to take a hike when he asked them to pump more oil. And now, even Biden’s beloved mainstream media is admitting there’s a problem.

Biden could owe as much as $500K in back taxes, government report indicates

    By Steven Nelson
    September 23, 2021 6:00pm Update

WASHINGTON — Republicans say a new nonpartisan report indicates President Biden improperly avoided paying Medicare taxes before he took office — raising eyebrows and the possibility that he owes the IRS as much as $500,000 in back taxes.

Biden is leading a Democratic push for a $3.5 trillion bill to subsidize child care, education and health care by targeting tax avoidance and raising tax rates on higher incomes so the rich “pay their fair share.”

A House Ways and Means Committee draft of the bill would end the accounting trick apparently exploited by Biden and boost IRS funding for audits — but the new report, drafted by the Congressional Research Service and provided to The Post, suggests Biden owes taxes under current rules, according to the congressman who requested it.

“Joe Biden wants to raise taxes by $2.1 trillion while claiming the rich need to pay their ‘fair share.’ But in 2017, multimillionaire Joe Biden skirted his payroll taxes — the very taxes that fund Medicare and ObamaCare,” said Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.), chairman of the conservative Republican Study Committee.

“According to the criteria CRS provided to my office, he owes the IRS and the American people hundreds of thousands of dollars in back taxes,” Banks said. “Every American should know about Joe Biden’s tax hypocrisy.”

Banks said the report shows Biden improperly used “S corporations” to avoid paying Medicare tax on speaking fees and book sales in 2017 and 2018.

Biden and first lady Jill Biden routed more than $13 million through S corporations and counted less than $800,000 of it as salary eligible for the Medicare tax — exempting the rest from what would have been a 3.8 percent rate, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The CRS report doesn’t name Biden but analyzes cases in which the IRS won a judgment against taxpayers who paid themselves suspiciously low salaries from S corporations and counted most of the revenue as “distributions” exempt from the Medicare tax.

“Courts have agreed with the IRS that shareholder-employees are subject to employment taxes when shareholders take distributions, dividends, or other forms of compensation in lieu of reasonable compensation,” the report says.

The document outlines several examples, including a case involving an accountant named David Watson who piped about $200,000 per year of his firm’s revenue through an S corporation while deeming just $24,000 of it as taxable salary. Courts determined he dramatically underpaid his taxes.

Significantly, the CRS report notes that presidential tax returns are subject to automatic audit only for years when a president is in office. The White House said this year that the Biden S corporations are dormant, meaning the IRS won’t automatically review their use.

Biden, who has branded himself “Middle Class Joe,” routinely argues the rich must “pay their fair share.”

Chris Jacobs, a veteran of GOP offices on Capitol Hill who closely tracks the issue, said, “Joe Biden wants to expand the IRS’s funding and authority, so they can audit more Americans. Given that the liberal Tax Policy Center and the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service both have raised questions about the way Biden handled his taxes, why doesn’t he ask for his own taxes to get audited first?”

Jacobs added, “Biden doesn’t really believe in expanding programs like Medicare and ObamaCare, because he thought buying a second multimillion-dollar mansion, and renting a third, was more important than helping to fund those laws.”

The $3.5 trillion social spending bill that Biden hopes to ram through Congress with only Democratic votes would end the tactic used by Biden — if it passes as drafted by the House Ways and Means Committee. It also would increase IRS funding by $80 billion over 10 years to crack down on tax avoidance.

Tax law experts told The Post that the CRS report underscores the long-standing controversy, but that it doesn’t necessarily break new ground. They say the IRS simply doesn’t have the resources to make sure that all S corporations reasonably assess what counts as salary.

Corporate tax expert Bob Willens, an adjunct professor at Columbia University’s business school, says each case is unique and that “the question remains whether the compensation exacted from his corporation was ‘reasonable.'”

Willens said that “in my view, the case can easily be made that reasonable compensation should be multiples of $300,000. Whether the IRS would be willing to make that case, however, is questionable given the identity of the shareholder.”

John Bogdanski, a former member of the IRS Commissioner’s Advisory Group and a professor at Lewis & Clark law school, notes that political debate over the use of S corporations has raged for decades, impacting other prominent politicians such as 2004 Democratic vice presidential nominee Sen. John Edwards (D-NC) and former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.).

Bogdanski says Biden would not have to pay Medicare taxes for the share of income made off the labor of other people, which can be complicated to determine. He says wealthy people generally make assumptions in their own favor and get away with it.

“There are millions — literally millions — of S corporations. So there might be a half a million S corporations that are playing this game. And the IRS doesn’t have anywhere near enough of a budget to bring a half a million cases every year,” he said.

But Bogdanski added that he thinks it’s “quite rich” for Republicans to focus on Biden’s taxes when former President Donald Trump never released his own tax returns, repeatedly saying they were under audit.

David Gamage, a tax law professor at Indiana University Bloomington, said “the general view among tax experts is that it’s quite easy for taxpayers to get away with this form of tax planning to the point of it being very abusive.”

“This is not the sort of tax planning that should be going on as a matter of tax policy, but it’s very hard for the IRS to police,” Gamage said.

“I would hope that increased attention to this issue, whether that be through focus on a President Biden using this form of tax planning or more generally, would increase the case for reform. I think the case for both increased IRS funding and for substantive law reform this area is overwhelmingly strong,” Gamage said.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The Biden campaign previously said that “the salaries earned by the Bidens are reasonable and were determined in good faith.”

    Biden no longer a moderate

Joe Biden campaigned as a moderate, denied he was a socialist, now admits he has become a progressive. Who knew? Everyone with an intellect!

    The Progressives Have Already Won

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/polit...edgdhp&pc=U531

In an Oval Office meeting with House progressives last week, Joe Biden made a joke about how much had changed in his long career: “I used to be called a moderate,” the president mused.

The president’s gesture of support underscored the political reality that is driving the tense negotiations on Capitol Hill: In the battle for ideological supremacy in the Democratic Party, the progressives have already won. Biden was indeed a proud moderate during his three and a half decades as a senator, but he has fallen in firmly with the progressives as president. He’s embraced the agenda championed by the likes of his former rivals Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren

Now progressives are driving the policy agenda and have a Democratic president they can claim as an ally. “He was not my candidate in the election,” Jayapal, who backed Sanders in the 2020 primary, said of Biden. “But what he has laid out in this Build Back Better Plan is extremely progressive, and what he has supported as we’ve gone through is extremely progressive.”

Don't know, don't care! It is what he is now which is nothing less than a flip-flopper who has made some of the most egregious personal and political decisions in his 49 year career - and I am old enough to remember many of them. He is of the quintessential smooth-talking, glad-handing political character.

He is best characterized today for saying: "As president, I own it." Then goes on to blame others for the crisis or failure he created!

DHS Secretary: As Many as 12,000 Illegal Haitian Immigrants Released into the US in Recent Days
    EPOCH TIMES

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas said Sunday that a significant number of Haitian illegal immigrants who had amassed along the U.S.-Mexico border last week are being released into the United States.

About 12,400 out of 17,000 Haitians are having their cases heard by immigration courts, Mayorkas said, adding that about 5,000 are being processed by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Only approximately 3,000 are in detention, he said.

“Approximately, I think it’s about ten thousand or so, twelve thousand,” Mayorkas told “Fox News Sunday” when he was asked about the number of Haitian illegal aliens who have been released into the interior of the United States. The number could rise as 5,000 more cases are processed, he remarked further.

When asked about what will happen to the 12,000 who were released in the past week, Mayorkas said that “it is our intention to remove” those aliens.

The number of people at the Del Rio encampment peaked last weekend as migrants driven by confusion over the Biden administration’s policies and misinformation on social media converged at the border crossing. While Mayorkas and other White House officials have asserted that the border is closed, Republicans have said that the administration’s decisions to rescind a number of Trump-era immigrant orders have triggered a surge of illegal immigration.

All the while, Mayorkas and other senior officials have dedicated a significant amount of time in news conferences condemning some Border Patrol agents who were seen on horseback near Haitians who illegally crossed the border. The photographer who shot those pictures last week said that the agents were not whipping the migrants, as some officials and Democratic lawmakers had claimed.

“Some of the Haitian men started running, trying to go around the horses,” photographer Paul Ratje told local station KTSM, explaining the situation on the ground. “I’ve never seen them whip anyone,” he said, referring to the agents. “He was swinging it, but it can be misconstrued when you’re looking at the picture.”

    Biden’s lies

We know that they lie. They know that we know that they lie. They continue to lie.

It’s what you tell your teenagers: Don’t lie. Because then you’ll have to tell another lie to cover up the first lie, and then another, and another. Eventually, you’ll get to the point where you don’t recognize the truth—until it comes out. And the truth always comes out

The Democrats outdid themselves this week with the border crisis, Covid mandates for U.S. citizens & nada for illegals and the horsewhipping fiasco.

The chickens are coming home to roost.

    Social Security and stimulus check

According to a most recent analysis, the percentage of retirees in 2021 who are at risk of not having enough is about 50%.

Fourth stimulus check: will a payment be sent to those receiving social security benefits?

    https://en.as.com/en/2021/09/23/late...08_884972.html

Senior Citizens League pushes Congress to pass a fourth stimulus check for those on social security who have seen their disposable incomes plummet this year.

For many of the more than 64 million people who receive Social Security, the benefits are their only source of income. This figure represents one in every six Americans and four out of five seniors.

To receive these benefits, one cannot work, making their income fixed. During the pandemic, supply chains broke down, causing bottlenecks that limited the supply of goods, leading to an increase in price.
The prices for basic goods -- food, gas, clothing are all up significantly over their pre-pandemic levels and seniors are starting to feel the pain.

To date, no lawmakers have responded to the petition or brought up the measure. As negotiations over infrastructure, the reconciliation bill, and the debt ceiling suck up all the air in the Capitol, it is unlikely this measure makes it onto the legislative agenda.

    Comment:

Average Social Security Check - $1,431/month
    Maximum Social Security Check - $2,861 /month
Minimum Social Security Check - $900/month

Some retirees receiving Social Security benefits as an only source of income are living below the poverty line. Sad considering they paid into the system and are receiving less than illegals and others who never paid into the system.

Top generals contradict Biden, say they advised leaving 2,500 troops in Afghanistan
BY MORGAN CHALFANT - 09/28/21 12:17 PM EDT

Top military officials told lawmakers on Tuesday that they had recommended 2,500 U.S. troops remain in Afghanistan, contradicting comments made by President Biden earlier this year.

Gen. Frank McKenzie, head of U.S. Central Command, and Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, each acknowledged during public congressional testimony that they agreed with the recommendation of Army Gen. Austin Miller that 2,500 troops be left in the country, though they denied to detail what they advised Biden directly.

Biden announced his decision to end U.S. military involvement in Afghanistan back in April.

“I won’t share my personal recommendation to the president, but I will give you my honest opinion, and my honest opinion and view shaped my recommendation. I recommended that we maintain 2,500 troops in Afghanistan. And I also recommended earlier in the fall of 2020 that we maintain 4,500 at that time. Those are my personal views,” McKenzie told the Senate Armed Services Committee on Tuesday under questioning from Sen. James Inhofe (Okla.), the panel’s top Republican.

McKenzie said it had been his view that the full U.S. withdrawal would lead to the collapse of Afghan forces and government.

Milley said he agreed with that assessment and that it was his personal view dating back to last fall that the U.S. should maintain at least 2,500 troops in Afghanistan to move toward a peace agreement between the Taliban and Afghan government. Milley declined to comment directly on his specific discussions with Biden when questioned by Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.).

Asked whether Miller discussed his recommendation with Biden, McKenzie told lawmakers he believed his opinion “was well-heard.”

Republican lawmakers repeatedly raised the matter in the context of an interview Biden gave to ABC News in August during which he denied that his top military commanders recommended he leave 2,500 troops in Afghanistan.

“Your top military advisers warned against withdrawing on this timeline. They wanted you to keep about 2,500 troops,” ABC’s George Stephanopoulos said to Biden in the interview.

“No, they didn't,” Biden replied. “It was split. That wasn't true.”

“Your military advisers did not tell you, ‘No, we should just keep 2,500 troops. It's been a stable situation for the last several years. We can do that. We can continue to do that’?” Stephanopoulos later pressed.

“No one said that to me that I can recall,” Biden replied.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki tweeted Tuesday afternoon that leaving 2,500 troops in Afghanistan would have escalated the conflict due to the Trump administration’s deal with the Taliban to withdraw.

“As @POTUS told ABC, ending the war in Afghanistan was in our national interest. He said advice was split, but consensus of top military advisors was 2500 troops staying meant escalation due to deal by the previous admin. @SecDef, the Chairman, and GEN McKenzie all reiterated,” Psaki tweeted.

Milley said during the hearing that the U.S. would have been back at war with the Taliban if forces had stayed beyond Aug. 31.

Military generals unanimously recommended that Biden stick to the Aug. 31 withdrawal date on Aug. 25, Milley said, when Biden was considering extending the deadline to accommodate the evacuation mission.

Asked about the ABC News exchange on Tuesday, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin called Biden an “honest and forthright man.”

“Their input was received by the president and considered by the president, for sure,” Austin told Cotton when asked if Biden’s statement to ABC was true. “In terms of what they specifically recommended, senator, as they just said, they’re not going to provide what they recommended in confidence.”

Later during the hearing, Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) grilled the witnesses on whether Biden made a false statement in the interview.

“That was a false statement, by the president of the United States, was it not?” Sullivan asked.

“I didn’t even see the statement, to tell you the truth,” Milley replied, adding, “I’m not going to characterize a statement of the president of the United States.”

In April, Biden ordered the full U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan by Sept. 11. U.S. forces completed the withdrawal by Aug. 31, capping a chaotic exit and evacuation mission from the war-torn country after the Taliban gained control of Kabul earlier the same month.

Miller appeared before lawmakers for classified testimony earlier this month. Tuesday's hearing was the first time that top military officials have testified publicly since the August withdrawal.

    Hypocrisy to the max!

Yes Mr. Biden, you own the border crisis you alone created. As for Jen Psaki, she is great at spinning manure into gold. Trump was the pathological liar, right? Biden was going to change all that, right. LMAO – they all lie!

Psaki wants Republicans to be 'part of the solution' at the border while Biden makes things worse

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/polit...?ocid=msedgntp

White House press secretary Jen Psaki has decided to attack Republicans for not offering solutions to the crisis on the southern border. Apparently, she missed it when her boss rejected all of the policies put in place by the previous administration.

We know Biden and his administration aren’t interested in Republicans actually trying to be “part of the solution” because Biden immediately tossed out several solutions that were being pursued by Republicans and put in place by former President Donald Trump. The “Remain in Mexico” policy was obviously one such solution, the reversal of which even Mexican officials knew would encourage a surge at the U.S.-Mexico border.

No wonder this guy's poll numbers are tanking.

Can I vent Lee & Mark?

    1. The border scares me, but mostly that there are migrants on military campsites that just reported that there were attacks towards our military by these migrants!!! Immigration law(s) supports the constitutional rights of our military and American people who are subjected to offenses made by illegal immigrants. They are arrested, incarcerated, fined and in criminal cases are deported. Yet Biden's teams says, oh when you allow migrants into the interior of the country we can expect this kind of activity...WHAT? Is this American?

    2. The US State Department just rejected the arrival of 100 US citizens & green card holders from Kabul from entering into our country. WHAT??? Is this America?

    3. The House & Senate are about to vote on a 3.5 Trillion dollar budget but yet we don't have money to keep the government running. WHAT? Who is running our country..where are the smart folks in the room? Is this America?

And there is much more that boils my blood...What is going on????

    I just needed to vent..

What is going on Shortstuff is that you are reading or listening to media outlets beside the slanted / bias left mainstream media that only present reports favorable to Biden and his administration.

Let me make clear that if in the 2024 presidential election the names Trump, Biden, or Harris appear on the ballot, it will be one of the few times in my 60 years of voting that I would not cast a vote on a ballot line.

That said, today’s Buffalo News reports by the New York Times and Washington post well exemplifies of what I speak on bias reporting – bash Trump, praise Biden.

Washington Post - No matter what happens in Congress, Biden has already done big things
Biden and Harris are getting things done. The Afghan withdrawal was Trump’s fault.

Washington Post - Future political violence feels inevitable.
Trump / Republicans / white supremacists are the cause of inciting violence and insurrection. No mention of BLM or antifa.

New York Times – Grisham’s book details Trump’s temper and abuses
Trump taken to the woodshed again. Another distraction from Biden’s foreign and domestic policies. Trump sucks, Biden does too, but we’re not going to focus on Biden’s failures and lies.

New York Times – Four jagged puzzle pieces and a few weeks for Democrats to assemble all of them
Piece 1. Government funding - running out of money. Spending out of control.
Piece 2. The debt limit – need more money
Piece 3. Infrastructure – passed in the Senate, held up in the House.
Piece 4. $3.5 trillion social safety net / reconciliation – Democrats need more money, blame Republicans for saying no their demands.

Associated Press – Milley to panel: Afghan war was ‘strategic failure’

Yea! One of Biden’s failures reported on.

Nothing on the Biden created border crisis, faux horsewhipping reports, rampant inflation, Biden-Dems $3.5 trillion cradle to grave welfare state, etc.

Obama‘s recent message was broadcast on CNN. Obama stated that democracy was being threatened by people who ‘do not think like us.’ That might is right and that only a certain group should succeed. That has to change. Shouldn’t we take that to mean that if we don’t agree with someone’s policies or opinions they must be silenced? A threat to free speech? A threat to democracy?

So Shortstuff, stop reading / listening to the conspiracy theories / claptrap coming from the right. Only the left are bearers of the truth.

With rare exception, all politicos suck
With rare exception, all media outlets today report opinion, not real news

In your lifetime, have you ever seen a more inept, dysfunctional Congress than today’s where compromise is near non-existent. Both parties will haggle over minutia rather than taking a position that could favor the other.

The country is in terrible shape domestically and in foreign imagine. On the brink of bankruptcy and they want to spend more to gain votes. Our best interests are not being served.

And our man at the helm is asleep at the wheel! As I wrote in another post, I would not vote for Trump, Biden, or Harris in 2024. I see no one of interest at this time. Have any likes?
