The Democratic Party can’t be oblivious to how damaging the rhetoric and the proposed policies by the hard left is in making Trump look tolerable nationally and absurd in New York State.

The liberal program the left sponsored spawned the three House Rep. freshman, hard-core socialists, who the media now considers the new faces (superstars) of the Democratic Party. Ocasio-Cortez has even threatened to rid the party of moderate party elected officials, Like Trump, she issues a lot of misleading and/or incorrect statements and data.

According to the left, there is no border crisis, illegals have the same rights as citizens, Medicare for all is being proposed, free education and all kinds of free stuff is coming under the progressive - socialists. Aren’t we lucky?

On the state situation, it is not bad enough that we are led by an inept, dysfunctional and corrupt Albany government, pay the second highest taxes in the nation, spend the most on education and get little return on our investment, make abysmal business investment decisions (Solar City and Amazon), pass restrictive gun laws, have a sanctuary city, Mayor de Blasio has just approved a meatless Monday New York City school menu.

And you wonder why people who can leave our state are doing so?

During World War One, America observed "Meatless Mondays."

If "Big Bird" is true to form, next week he will re-institute the 1917 "Wheatless Wednesdays" as well.

This jerk is Mayor of New York, seriously?

And speaking of the successor to Fiorello La Guardia, Robert Wagner, John Lindsay, Edward Koch, and Rudy Gulliani, here are some very important insightful thoughts from that towering intellect, Hizzoner the Mayor of New York...

De Blasio tells New Yorkers how to use their toilets... ''poop, pee, puke..."

    http://www.theamericanmirror.com/de-...-should-go-in/

Perhaps he should start a weekly social etiquette/personal hygiene column in the NY Times. He can cover a myriad of topics such as:

Only pop your zits looking INTO the mirror.

Do not wipe your boogers underneath the table.

Don't pass someone a piece a bread if you have not washed your hands after taking a dump.

To the male audience: "More than two shakes, you're playing with it."

Do not fart in small crowded rooms.

He could have a very lucrative sideline.

Light'n up, just some humor to illustrate how a big government Socialist would like to tell you how to run the basics of your personal life.

A deplorable and now a burden to minorities?

Today, the Buffalo News chose to feature a report from the ‘Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences’ (PNAS) titled “Minorities bear burden of whites’ air pollution, study says.” The original report was from the Washington Post and the News’ edition was incomplete in content.

PNAS is one of the world’s most-cited and comprehensive multidisciplinary scientific journals, publishing more than 3,200 research papers annually. The journal’s content spans the biological, physical, and social sciences and is global in scope.

The Buffalo News report ends well before the report posted in the Washington Post:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/nation...=.e6181c2dbd49

The disparities persisted between 2003 and 2015, the time frame of the study, even as overall exposure declined during the same period by about 50 percent. The gap in contributions to pollution owed more to the level of consumption than to the types of goods and services consumed.

The research confirms with new statistical certainty the determination that racial and ethnic minorities are acutely vulnerable to air pollution because of the neighborhoods in which they live. But it also introduces a largely unstudied element into the analysis, examining who is responsible for the pollutants inhaled disproportionately by blacks and Hispanics. The answer, according to a nationwide team of engineers and economists, is white people.

Income, which has previously been shown to matter less than race in exposure disparities, mattered crucially in discerning how much pollution a person causes because it tends to predict consumption, the authors observed.

The authors broke down acts of personal consumption by race to assess how emissions were driven differently by people self-identifying as black or African American, representing about 12 percent of the population; Hispanic or Latino, representing about 17 percent of the population; and non-Hispanic whites combined with all other groups, together representing about 70 percent of the population.
The greatest disparity between the racial groups was in “commercial cooking,” Tessum said — in other words, going to restaurants. The activity is just one example of personal consumption, which can mean anything from building a house to driving a car to buying food.
The study does not offer solutions but rather “reveals a new lens for looking at this problem,” Tessum (paper’s lead author) said. Still, it became apparent in the course of the research that declining exposure between 2003 and 2015 was a product of government regulation.

    Comment

The Buffalo News chose to report a Washington Post report where “Minorities bear burden of whites’ air pollution.” Despite the statistical fact the 70% of the population is listed as non-Black or Hispanic, where Income previously thought to matter less than race in exposure disparities, mattered crucially in discerning how much pollution a person causes because it tends to predict consumption, whites as a class are equal polluters.

So, there are no whites of lesser income who equally suffer the burden of air pollution impacts from high end level of consumption than to the types of goods and services consumed?

So, there are no black or Hispanic income earners of such degree in the celebrity, business, political or sports venues whose level of consumption increases pollution?

There are studies and there are studies. We are advised to giving up eating meat because animals fart and pollute the world; while in some countries people still defecate in the woods or on the streets.

We are encouraged to change over to clean energy to reduce pollution – solar roofs, electric cars, energy-saving products, etc., when 51% of our citizens are reported to be living paycheck-to-paycheck and can’t afford the luxury of making such changes; or purchasing mansion-type homes far exceeding family needs. ‘Starter homes’ has disappeared in today’s home market lexicon.

But hey, socialism is the flavor of the day and all that free stuff is coming; or, so say the government libtards. It is equally fashionable to bash the whites for today’s ills as well. This report is but another media attempt to fuel the fires of controversy and divisiveness to sell its product.

Lee, this is all pure, unadulterated horse****. I read a really funny article written by a group who made up articles offering the most outlandish arguments and submitted them to “refereed” journals simply to prove that, if you lard an article with enough politically correct buzzwords, you can get it published no matter how stupid it is. One article spoke in favor of “fat bodybuilding”, which basically encouraged obesity as model to challenge traditional exercise because that somehow supports “male hegemony”. The article was published with great enthusiasm by the referees, despite the fact that it endorsed an objectively unhealthful and dangerous lifestyle, simply because it attacked someone’s twisted ideas that exercise is a way for men to enslave women. One has to be exceedingly careful anymore in reading the crappola published in what used to be legitimate scholarly journals.

    Thanks, Grump.

I am well aware of the political and media horse**** games being played and try not to get involved. Two stupids don’t make a smart!

Today's media will sink to any vile depth to get a story; especially one that breeds controversy for the sake of profit.

But I am getting tired of being unjustifiably identified, labeled, or classified (profiled) because of my race, gender, political opinion, etc., I have the same rights as those making the ludicrous claims to express my opinion.

A nickname and a fanciful heritage are the works of the creative mind, not life circumstances.

Let's see, so far the Democrat candidates for the 2020 Presidential nomination consist of a make believe Native American, a self-identified Hispanic, and "Spartacus."

Do the Democrats have anyone who is just plain proud and comfortable with who they actually are?

Mythical backgrounds and slick packaging are truly the products of the image makers, which lack truth and transparency, and simply are not qualifications to become President of the United States.

Kind of like that "Hope and Change" thingy in 2008.

Ah, remember when the Left alleged that Mrs. Trump plagiarized Michelle Obama during her convention speech in 2016?

Gee, I wonder if the useless Main Stream Media will call the substance of this post out?

    But, I digress.

Socialists will empty your wallets, take your property, and subjugate your freedom.

Then, to make themselves sound like patriotic Americans, they steal words and ideas from conservatives.

What is Gillibrand going to say next, "Win this one for the Gipper?"

    Gillibrand, today:

"Our anthem calls America the home of the brave, but we don't realize that the lyrics first pose it as a question ... It asks, 'will brave win?' "
President Reagan's comments on Memorial Day, 1982:

"Earlier today, with the music that we have heard and that of our National Anthem—I can't claim to know the words of all the national anthems in the world, but I don't know of any other that ends with a question and a challenge as ours does: Does that flag still wave o'er the land of the free and the home of the brave? That is what we must all ask."
What's the saying, "Imitation is the greatest form of flattery?"

While those on the extreme left are touting their hatred for Trump and goal to impeach him, deny there is a ‘border crisis, and to promote their progressive social-economic agenda, we have on the extreme right those who too often take goofy polar positions. Somewhere in between are those of us who will not bend to either philosophy / ideology and are appalled that neither major party is willing to compromise to reach an outcome that favors the American citizen and immigrants who want to be properly documented but fail because of archaic laws.

As human being and a parent, I well understand one will take whatever steps are required to protect and nurture their families. The bozos in Washing will take whatever steps it takes to fulfill their personal agendas and get votes.

    Today’s New York Times

    https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/18/n...migration.html

Dairy farmers face particular challenges because without American workers, they have no alternative to migrant labor. The government program that brings in legal temporary workers does so only for seasonal workers and dairy farming is a year-round activity.

In Washington, lawmakers representing dairy-heavy districts have tried to reform the legal foreign workers program to include year-round dairy workers.

But so far, efforts have fallen short. These lawmakers are caught between staunch conservatives who consider any reprieve a form of amnesty and Democrats who want more comprehensive immigration reform, which would also address the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, known as DACA, and immigrants with Temporary Protected Status.

A solution is urgently required to keep dairy farms afloat while the political impasse over a comprehensive immigration package drags on. “There’s not a single person representing dairy that doesn’t understand it’s a crisis, a true crisis,” he said.

“We didn’t really have a choice but to use to H-2A,” said Mark Nicholson of Red Jacket Orchards, which switched to using the program last year. “When the system works, it answers one of our biggest challenges to staying in business — and that’s having a reliable source of skilled farm labor. But when it doesn’t work, it dooms us to the same risk as before.

    Comments

It was stated in the report: “There’s not a single person representing dairy that doesn’t understand it’s a crisis, a true crisis,” he said. Why?

According to the US Seasonal Agricultural Worker (H2-A), Visas are available for foreign agricultural workers to work in the United States on a seasonal or temporary basis, provided that there is a shortage of domestic workers.

Generally, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCI)S may grant H-2A classification for up to the period of time authorized on the temporary labor certification. H-2A classification may be extended for qualifying employment in increments of up to 1 year each. A new, valid temporary labor certification covering the requested time must accompany each extension request. The maximum period of stay in H-2A classification is 3 years.

A person who has held H-2A nonimmigrant status for a total of 3 years must depart and remain outside the United States for an uninterrupted period of 3 months before seeking readmission as an H-2A nonimmigrant. Additionally, previous time spent in other H or L classifications counts toward total H-2A time.

So, why are there undocumented immigrants on the farm? Isn’t the process of requesting stay extensions being followed?

Is it because after spending three years in the country on the H-2A program the fear of leaving the country for three months and getting back in on the program is at risk, and why they remain undocumented?

It was perplexing / disturbing to read that “when the program works its great, when it doesn’t it dooms us to the same risk as before.” What is the cause for doom? I am dead-set against illegal immigration and the left’s conception that they have rights equal to mine, but this is a travesty to both the immigrant and dairy farmer. Fix it!

And shame on the Democrats for not taking the lead on fixing it.

For four years the elitist left has ridiculed, labeled and laughed at the Republican Party and derided it, and its supporters, for its MAGA policies; and some of it for good reasons. The 16 Republican candidate primary debates were contentious and uncivil. The Democrats (and supporting pundits) lapped it up, hooted and pronounced Trump dead on arrival. But they lost the election and have spent every waking moment hating Trump, believing his supporters braindead, and spending millions of taxpayer money trying to get him impeached for myriad and often asinine reasons – and all the while making this country look like a ****hole in the process.

Well buckle up Trumpsters, your day is coming. The Democrats will field even more candidates than the Republicans did. With few exceptions, the candidates are already campaigning as progressive-socialists and are being driven hard-left by the likes of Ocasio-Cortez and Omar – the media’s ordained ‘rock stars’. So, what will their party slogan be? Maybe, “Socialism now, free ****”?

Can’t wait for the primary debates to see how the candidates are going to distinguish themselves to separate themselves from the pack. They seem united on so many unique liberal positions and policies:

    • There is no border crisis. Undocumented (illegal) immigrants have rights equal to that of Americans. They should have the right to vote and get automotive licenses. MS-13 gang-members are people too.

    • The New Green Deal is a wonderful concept – unfortunately, unaffordable and impractical and we are all going to die in 12 years.

    • Medicare for all, free tuition, guaranteed weekly income, $15 minimum pay for all…free, free, free!

    • The wealthy are evil and should pay their fair share.

    • State executions are evil, but full-term abortions are okay.

    • Opioid use to manage chronic pain (especially for the elderly) must have tighter controls in place. Legalizing recreational marijuana and decriminalizing its use is okay.

    • The voting age should be reduced to 16. The Electoral College should be abolished. Undocumented immigrants should be granted amnesty and given the right to vote. How far will this party go to get the required votes to take over total control of the country.

    .
I will be bold and suggest that AOC is not some wild-eyed Socialist whacko. I believe she has been, and will continue to be, scripted to come across as one.

AOC's mistakes and misspeaks are attributed to her youthful, almost adolescent idealism. Those missteps are so profound and so numerous, that are presented by a sycophantic media as reflective of an immature charm, but with the caveat that at the core of her blundering words are ideas worthy of debate or "a national conversation."

Ergo, she is the necessary "Janie Ideas Appleseed," of the Socialist revolutionaries, deliberately planting the ideas and the perverted values of Socialism into the minds of a dumbed-down American electorate.

Think of it this way Lee, in 1970, would you and I have envisioned a world where one's physical attributes did not determine one's sex? An America where nine-month-old babies could be murdered?

No, drip by drip, the Left, historically, has slowly made such bizarre ideas legitimate topics for discussion. Then, as the radical ideas become more familiar, the more the ideas appear to be worthy of serious consideration. As time passes, the theoretical words gradually morph from intellectual debate into the world of principled, passionate advocacy. Eventually, under the threat of captioned bigotry, and in compliance with the necessities of fairness, political correctness, and a "woman's choice," the collective insanity is incrementally applied.

All of the other candidates will appear to smooth the edges AOC's advocacy, ("AOC Light) and soften AOC's words, and therefore, appear to be more moderate.

The candidates will separate themselves from each other by the degree(s) of distance that they put between themselves and the "pure" Socialist ideas advanced by AOC, but generally, they will all agree that a "national conversation" on these issues is desirable and appropriate.

No national border, no nation, no national citizen standards, everyone come and go at whim, ergo, no American nation, and a key advancement toward the one-world government envisioned by the Marxists

Crash the American economy, and establish a one-world Socialist/Communist economic system aimed at retributive wealth, in support of the ultimate goal: A one-world economic and political order.

Two classes, the elites and the "useful idiots" dependent on government crumbs.

    The wonders of centralized control!

Perhaps in specified circumstances, abortion will no longer be a right, but a requirement. Remember what the Chinese and some other nations did in 1960s and 1970s in reaction to the "Population Explosion" crisis? That was going to end the world when you and I were much younger, and we were not expected to see 1980.

    Remember that "Crisis?"

Yea, the tighter controls may be disingenuous fluff to make that conditional advocacy appear to be responsible.

Remember what Obama said about the sick elderly, "Maybe we should just give granny a pill?"

Perhaps this just may be a another slippery slope into the world of exterminating the "useless eaters."

Votes are votes, and the more dumber a voter who casts a ballot, the more likely a positive result for the Democrats.

Before it was hijacked by union interests, tenure was promoted and advanced not as much as a saber for elitist job security, but as a shield to preserve academic freedom. After all, the classroom and the campus should be the refuge(s) preserving the "Free Market Place of Ideas."

It now appears that the referred shield has in fact turned saber, and has been weaponized against the conservative elements residing within the refuge.

If that "Market Place" excludes conservative ideas, the refuge designated "Free Market Place of Ideas," and the attendant need for for tenure, are shallow, celebratory, aimless, and serve entirely as an exclusive "Big Tent" for a one-thought autocracy.

I have been a daily subscriber to the Buffalo News for decades. As it has become liberal oriented, where 90% of its reporting comes from the liberal mainstream media, I have been made well informed of what a narcissistic, lying, racist, ne’er-do-well President Trump is. Much to the chagrin and horror of the News’ left leaning readers who called for the removal of publishing Marc Thiessen (Washington Post Writers Group) column, I find it refreshing and enlightening.

Instead of slant reporting where it appears every Democrat is charismatic, a rising star, a progressive-socialist with grandiose rhetoric on the ills of the country and on programs of resolve, we now will get to read and learn of their accomplishments and platforms. I was wondering what I was missing in seeing O’Rourke’s presidential qualifications; maybe nothing after all.

    Beto O’Rourke is a loser
