    LMAO!

Mueller was not a Special Counsel, he was a figurehead, and could not explain his own report.

Well at least we can thank the Democratic Totalitarians for exposing Mueller as the confused, pathetic, addled old man that he really is.

Is it just me? I have tired of the entire impeachment process. Congress delays addressing substantive issues (immigration, health care, infrastructure, etc.) because the left is fixated on removing Trump from office. One would have thought Mueller’s appearance before congress would have ended the fiasco – hearing the mainstream media even calling it a disastrous day for the left. Not so: 24 hours later as Mueller is vindicated by the Democratic left and the liberal mainstream media colleagues, and the investigation continues.

House Speaker Pelosi declares Mueller confirmed in his testimony that Trump had obstructed justice. “Democrats are pursuing information through the courts in order to investigate the president’s finances,” said Pelosi - which had not been part of the scope of the Mueller probe.

Judiciary Chair Jerry Nadler and Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., a constitutional law expert who has voiced support for such an inquiry, declare: “A lot of people believe that we have been in an impeachment inquiry. "I would say we are in an impeachment investigation.”

Nadler announced during a press conference that he would be going to court later in the day to ask for the grand jury information within the 448-page Mueller report, which he said will help determine whether they decide to impeach Trump. In the filing, the committee planned to say that “articles of impeachment are under consideration as part of the Committee’s investigation, although no final determination has been made.”

“Because Department of Justice policies will not allow prosecution of a sitting president, the United States House of Representatives is the only institution of the federal government that can now hold President Trump accountable for these actions,” Nadler said, reading directly from the petition he was filing in court. “To do so, the House must have access to all of the relevant facts and consider whether to exercise its full Article I powers including a constitutional power of the utmost gravity — recommendation of the articles of impeachment. We may decide to recommend articles of impeachment, we may not,” he said. “That remains to be seen.”
(What’s next? Investigating an assault allegation by de Blasio that Trump was once seen kicking a New York City rat?)

    According to Alan M. Dershowitz:

The word of the day, following the confusing and confused testimony of former Special Counsel Robert Mueller before two House committees Wednesday, is “exonerate” – or more precisely, “not exonerate.”

Exoneration is not the job of our legal system. Mueller’s attempt to introduce it is an extraordinary and dangerous innovation that would endanger the presumption of innocence we all have under the law.

During and following Mueller’s testimony, much of the media went into overdrive highlighting one sentence in the former special counsel’s 448-page report on Russian interference in our 2016 presidential election, as if it were breaking news.
The sentence, which Mueller reiterated in his testimony, said: “Accordingly while this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him.”

Coming in September: Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report – the investigation of the investigation genesis.

    Comment

A song asks: “Where are the clowns?" They are in Congress.

To hear today that Pelosi and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez met and the outcome was that their differences were few and minor is scary. If Pelosi is going to be intimidated by the media darling and the Democratic Party heads further left under Ocasio-Cortez’s socialistic influence, Trump’s re-election becomes ascertained.

Throughout the Watergate and Agnew processes, the both impeachment considerations were based on the "findings" of the DOJ.

In Nixon's case, it was the formal and informal actions of the grand jury(s) and Special Prosecutor to seek the indictments of aides on charges directly connected to Watergate, and the possible suggestion(s) of naming Nixon as a non-indicted co-conspirator, which prompted the impeachment proceedings.

In Agnew's case it was the decision of the of the House leadership, absent an indictment, not to undertake any impeachment inquiry or action.

That was the assertion of the American legal system, in all of its Constitutional grandeur.

In the present antithetical case, the House Democrat leadership is ignoring the "Collusion/Conspiracy" conclusions of the Special Counsel, and the conclusion(s) deferred to the DOJ regarding "Obstruction," and is pursuing a desperate, illusory process which should be called an "Attempted Coup."

That was the Just my opinion.

    Enough is f***ing enough!

Both sides of the political aisle are acting like petulant adolescents exhibiting hate, rage, mean-spirited, unrealistic, intolerant, and aberrant rhetoric for self-serving / aggrandizing purpose, not giving concern for the harm or cost to our country.

Still proud to be an American but thoroughly disgusted by our dysfunctional, inept government and outraged at the individuals in the forefront creating and sustaining the divisiveness.

I have been known to say for years that with rare exception all politicos suck! I am now seeing that rare individual in today’s national political climate – presidential campaign or Congress!

As for the media, yeah, they all suck too!

Hey, you're usually pretty level-headed in the general Town of Lancaster thread, but, on this one (and some of the others) you show a pretty miserable demeanor with this national politics stuff. Maybe you need to take a break; seriously, that's why I say get out and see the good out there, even with the folks who do not agree with your politics.

You're probably spending too much time pondering the state of political affairs in the country and it seems to make you steam.

Maybe Trump deserves all the credit for your mindset of late. Don't blame me, Lee. I voted for Hillary. I don't recall you saying who you voted for in 2016.

It's interesting, Lee, how you switch it up and sometimes say both side are screwed up, yet, you always seem to pile onto the crap dished out by the Trumpsters, then go on to give it hard to the vile "left." Go back and read some of your 'Had enough yet' comments, Lee - they certainly seem like a window into your soul. Seems to be making you pretty angry.

Heck, it's one thing to say "that damned Obama," back when he was president, but in ten minutes it's an afterthought; well, with Trump, people have seriously lost their minds and dwell on him and those who dare to oppose him, all day long!

Here's something to ponder, Lee: https://www.baltimoresun.com/opinion...ada-story.html

    ------------------------------

    By Baltimore Sun Editorial Board

Better to have a few rats than to be one

"In case anyone missed it, the president of the United States had some choice words to describe Maryland’s 7th congressional district on Saturday morning. Here are the key phrases: “no human being would want to live there,” it is a “very dangerous & filthy place,” “Worst in the USA” and, our personal favorite: It is a “rat and rodent infested mess.” He wasn’t really speaking of the 7th as a whole. He failed to mention Ellicott City, for example, or Baldwin or Monkton or Prettyboy, all of which are contained in the sprawling yet oddly-shaped district that runs from western Howard County to southern Harford County. No, Donald Trump’s wrath was directed at Baltimore and specifically at Rep. Elijah Cummings, the 68-year-old son of a former South Carolina sharecropper who has represented the district in the U.S. House of Representatives since 1996.

"It’s not hard to see what’s going on here. The congressman has been a thorn in this president’s side, and Mr. Trump sees attacking African American members of Congress as good politics, as it both warms the cockles of the white supremacists who love him and causes so many of the thoughtful people who don’t to scream. President Trump bad-mouthed Baltimore in order to make a point that the border camps are “clean, efficient & well run," which, of course, they are not — unless you are fine with all the overcrowding, squalor, cages and deprivation to be found in what the Department of Homeland Security’s own inspector-general recently called “a ticking time bomb."

"In pointing to the 7th, the president wasn’t hoping his supporters would recognize landmarks like Johns Hopkins Hospital, perhaps the nation’s leading medical center. He wasn’t conjuring images of the U.S. Social Security Administration, where they write the checks that so many retired and disabled Americans depend upon. It wasn’t about the beauty of the Inner Harbor or the proud history of Fort McHenry. And it surely wasn’t about the economic standing of a district where the median income is actually above the national average. No, he was returning to an old standby of attacking an African American lawmaker from a majority black district on the most emotional and bigoted of arguments. It was only surprising that there wasn’t room for a few classic phrases like “you people” or “welfare queens” or “crime-ridden ghettos” or a suggestion that the congressman “go back” to where he came from.

"This is a president who will happily debase himself at the slightest provocation. And given Mr. Cummings’ criticisms of U.S. border policy, the various investigations he has launched as chairman of the House Oversight Committee, his willingness to call Mr. Trump a racist for his recent attacks on the freshmen congresswomen, and the fact that “Fox & Friends” had recently aired a segment critical of the city, slamming Baltimore must have been irresistible in a Pavlovian way. Fox News rang the bell, the president salivated and his thumbs moved across his cell phone into action.

"As heartening as it has been to witness public figures rise to Charm City’s defense on Saturday, from native daughter House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Mayor Bernard C. “Jack” Young, we would above all remind Mr. Trump that the 7th District, Baltimore included, is part of the United States that he is supposedly governing. The White House has far more power to effect change in this city, for good or ill, than any single member of Congress including Mr. Cummings. If there are problems here, rodents included, they are as much his responsibility as anyone’s, perhaps more because he holds the most powerful office in the land.

"Finally, while we would not sink to name-calling in the Trumpian manner — or ruefully point out that he failed to spell the congressman’s name correctly (it’s Cummings, not Cumming) — we would tell the most dishonest man to ever occupy the Oval Office, the mocker of war heroes, the gleeful grabber of women’s private parts, the serial bankrupter of businesses, the useful idiot of Vladimir Putin and the guy who insisted there are “good people” among murderous neo-Nazis that he’s still not fooling most Americans into believing he’s even slightly competent in his current post. Or that he possesses a scintilla of integrity. Better to have some vermin living in your neighborhood than to be one."

I have been following politics nationally and locally for decades and if I seem (in your opinion) more favorable to Trump it is because I receive the Buffalo News seven days a week. And I can count on liberal news reports 90+ percent of the time from the biased uber-liberal New York Times and Washington Post.

To present the other side of the story I will post stories from other media outlets. Trump is depicted as telling 10,000+ lies, a racist, a xenophobe and every other malevolent name possible. And God forbid you voted for him because you are now identified the same.

And, I did vote for Trump and admitted that my vote was cast as ‘anyone but Clinton’ numerous times in posts – and it was the left that created Trump by nominating Hillary. And now the Dems are favoring candidates who are openly / adamantly advocating socialistic policies and programs while killing off the only ‘centrist’ campaigning, and you want them to win my vote?

So, Trumps the big liar and the Dems and media can prove it, eh? So, hypocrisy by the left is not lying, eh? I guess not in today’s media world.

    Hey Breezy:

After watching all three hours of the CNN presidential debate on Tuesday, I could no longer watch anymore than two hours of tonight’s debate – enough is enough for a ‘blank’ who can’t take part in a primary (fortunately!) anyway.

Poor Biden and the other more moderate candidates who were being savaged by radical socialists Warren, Sanders, Harris, Booker, Gillibrand and De Blasio.
Personally, I believe if any of the radical left socialists become the Dem Party presidential nominee, Trump wins. I said the same thing in 2016 when I declared Trump was not my candidate of choice on the Republican ticket (not by a ling shot) but that my vote would go to anyone but Hillary. I stated repeatedly that your party created Trump and made it possible for him to win.

There is much about Trump that I don’t like – personally and policy-wise. But holy **** Batman what I heard in the past few days was absurd / assured untenable promises; BS to the max!

I believe the same scenario exists today if your party endorses a radical socialist. Tell me why I am wrong – and please, without a personal attack and without any political correctness / identity BS.

While I agree that Trump inflames tensions with anti-immigrant and racially charged rhetoric, I see the radical left utilizing like rhetoric and hate speech to divide the country and to further their agenda. In their actions, fostered by a media that revels in the polarization, it is the citizens and the country’s best interests that are being adversely impacted.

Most impacted by the vitriol of the radical right and radical left are independents, blanks and those in the middle who dare opine for fear of ridicule, intimidation, castigation and in being mistakenly politically identified in the process. The language in the following email I received exemplifies what I am trying to convey:

    The new me

Please help me come to terms with the new me, because I used to think I was a regular person, but I'm just not sure who I am anymore!

I was born white, which now, whether I like it or not, makes me a racist & responsible for slavery.

I am a fiscal & moral conservative, which by today's standards, makes me a fascist because I plan & have supported myself.

I went to High School, worked through college, got a degree & previously held a job. I am not here because I earned it, but because I was advantaged.

I am heterosexual, which according to gay folks, now makes me a homophobe.

I am non-union, which makes me a traitor to the working class & ally of big business.

I am not a Muslim, which now labels me as an infidel.

I believe in the 2nd Amendment, which makes me a member of the vast NRA gun lobby.

I am older than 62 & retired, making me a useless old man who doesn't understand Facebook.

I think & I reason, so I doubt what main-stream media tells me, which must make me a reactionary.

I am proud of my heritage & our inclusive American culture, making me a xenophobe.

I value my safety & that of my family, & I appreciate the police & the legal system, making me a right-wing, cop loving extremist.

I believe in hard work, fair play, & fair compensation according to each individual's merits, which today makes me an anti-socialist.

I believe our system guarantees freedom of effort - not freedom of outcome or subsidies which must make me a borderline sociopath.

I believe in the defense & protection of America for & by all citizens, now making me a militant.

I am proud of our flag, what it stands for, & the many who died to let it fly, so I stand & salute during our National Anthem, taking me back where I started - I must be a racist.

I thank my friends for sticking with me through these abrupt, newfound changes to my thinking! I just can't imagine or understand what's happened to me so quickly! Funny - it all took place over the last 7 or 8 years! If all this nonsense wasn't enough to deal with, now I don't even know which restroom to use, & I gotta go more FREQUENTLY!

Sentries, not 'squad': Moderate Dems ones to watch for 2020

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/polit...cid=spartandhp

“Voices of moderation in a party often portrayed as veering sharply left,” YEA!

So delightfully refreshing after reading and listening to the socialist agenda twaddle offered by the Democratic presidential primary candidates and/or the hypocrisy babble from the ‘squad’.

Hey, can we name these four the new ‘mod squad’, or would that be offensive to the snowflakes?
