Biden too moderate says the left

It appears Biden needs a push to the left. Too many election promises walked back, too many promises made to left politicos and organizations (BLM) go unheeded.

The Georgia senate race outcome will dictate what direction Biden will take in appointing far-left candidates who would have a chance of meeting Congressional approval. Biden is a survivor and will go-with-the-flow in his best interests.

A Republican Party, which has a voting base largely composed of deranged conspiracy lunatics, is meaner than a skillet full of rattlesnakes, and is utterly in thrall to a mentally unbalanced criminal who is even now trying to overturn the very election that will put Biden in office.

Yeah, that ought to bring comity / unity!

    Joe Biden's anti-revolution takes shape

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/opini...?ocid=msedgdhp

What gives? The actual content of what Dillon was saying is instructive on this question. As Alex Pareene points out at the New Republic, she was not just ranting about how much she hates the GOP. On the contrary, she was trying to square the circle of Biden's oft-repeated campaign promise to bring back fabled bipartisan comity with the reality of the Republican Party, which has a voting base largely composed of deranged conspiracy lunatics, is meaner than a skillet full of rattlesnakes, and is utterly in thrall to a mentally unbalanced criminal who is even now trying to overturn the very election that will put Biden in office.

In other words, there will assuredly not be any return to the 1950s norms of bipartisanship, and Democrats know it — whatever Biden might believe, his top staffers have at least opened a newspaper at some point during the last four years — but it's politically useful to pretend that there will be. In the short term at least, lying to the public about how broken the country is apparently a political winner. After all, Biden won both the primary and the general election.

How will Biden handle partisanship in Congress?

Spot on report, IMHO! How far left will this country go? The January 5th Georgia senate election outcome will be most decisive to that end.

BTW – How could anyone believe Trump would not eventually sign the stimulus / Omnibus package. He dislikes the omnibus pork and the Dems will never consider vacating some of the requests. Like all politicos he fears for his legacy should he have obstructed its passage.

The delay and all its consequence rests with Trump alone, right? Pelosi, an inept / dysfunctional Congress played no role, right?

With rare exception all politicos suck!

I feel it would have be wiser for Trump to have simply made known his dissatisfaction with the skimpiness of the benefits to the American people, and contrasted that skimpiness with the big money earmarked for other countries and special interests, and not comment further.

Eventually, he will be maligned for tying the Relief Bill to his claim of voter fraud and politicizing the Covid/economic issue.

Again, at times he is his own worst enemy.

The Coming Global Backlash against China

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world...?ocid=msedgdhp

Yet the more the Chinese economy slows down, the more Xi feels the need to project a strongman image both abroad and, especially, at home. As Wang Gungwu and Zheng Yongnian, two Chinese scholars, wrote in China and the New International Order, this dynamic has deep roots in Chinese history: “China’s internal order was so closely related to her international order that one could not long survive without the other; when the barbarians were not submissive abroad, rebels might more easily arise within. Most dynasties collapsed under the twin blows of inside disorder and outside calamity, nei luan wai huang, that is, domestic rebellion and foreign invasion.”

Xi is keenly aware that he is vulnerable to internal rebellion. He has purged more than 1.5 million government officials, military leaders, and party elites. His trade war with the U.S. is deeply unpopular inside China because it has caused economic pains such as rising unemployment, closing of factories, and the shifting of the global supply chain out of China. Xi knows very well that if he shows any signs of weakness, he may end up like his political rival, Bo Xilai — a princeling who is currently languishing in a notorious Chinese prison for high-level party officials.

In addition, Xi saw former U.S. President Obama as a “weak” leader who led a nation that was on its way to inevitable decline, which opened up an unprecedented opportunity for China.

    Comment

Interesting perspective! Who is the bigger threat to the U.S., Russia, Russia, Russia, or China, China, China? For Trump, hands down it is China. For Biden, Russia.

Xi Jinping, Putin and Trump, three autocrats. Obama was considered weak leader (lead from behind). Biden?

It would seem that the opposite effect exception to that rule was the war between the Kuomintang and the Communist Chinese insurgents which started in 1927. The 1937 Japanese invasion of China actually unified China's warring factions, as Mao and Chiang Kai-shek agreed to a truce and joined forces almost immediately after the invasion. That alliance held until the united Chinese victory in 1945.

    Fake news to the max!

Mark, you know as well as I that one’s political opinions and/or bias is often influenced / determined by the media outlets one follows. Should one be enslaved to following but a right or left biased media outlet they become controlled by the narrative and a false sense of receiving ‘truth to power’ or purity politics reporting.

Only Trump lies. Biden has never told a lie or plagiarized in his life or in his political career. Some who see the mainstream media as the fountain of truth are brain dead. Some who see either Russia or China as the bigger threat forget or too young to understand that both communist countries promised to destroy us from within decades ago. The following report alludes to that and other threats to America’s destruction from within that some media outlets refuse to cover.

The Georgia election will determine America’s future fate. Purity politics and media coverage my ass!

Agree with your entire comment Lee, but for those who wish divided government, some unsettling news.

Steve Bannon has a daily podcast at 5:00 p.m.

In today's broadcast, Bannon, quoting some reliable polling sources, suggested that both Perdue and Loeffler are trailing, and given the repeat of the November standards, and absent some miracle, they are "toast."

We should all be aware of George Floyd's criminal past...

    George Floyd’s Criminal Past

George Floyd moved to Minneapolis in 2014 after being released from prison in Houston, Texas following an arrest for aggravated robbery

On May 25, 2020, Floyd was arrested for passing a counterfeit $20 bill at a grocery store in Minneapolis

He was under the influence of fentanyl and methamphetamine at the time of arrest

Floyd has more than a decade-old criminal history at the time of the arrest and went to jail for at least 5 times

George Floyd was the ringleader of a violent home invasion

He plead guilty to entering a woman’s home, pointing a gun at her stomach and searching the home for drugs and money, according to court records

Floyd was sentenced to 10 months in state jail for possession of cocaine in a December 2005 arrest

He had previously been sentenced to eight months for the same offense, stemming from an October 2002 arrest

Floyd was arrested in 2002 for criminal trespassing and served 30 days in jail

He had another stint for a theft in August 1998

"The report states the largest of the group, who the victim later identified as Floyd, ‘forced his way inside the residence, placed a pistol against the complainant’s abdomen, and forced her into the living room area of the residence.
    ...especially this narrative:

"This large suspect then proceeded to search the residence while another armed suspect guarded the complainant, who was struck in the head and sides by this second armed suspect with his pistol while she screamed for help.’

Not finding any drugs or money at the house, the men took jewelry and the woman’s cell phone and fled in their car. A neighbor who witnessed the robbery took down the car’s license plate number."

Later, police tracked down the car and found Floyd behind the wheel. He was later identified by the woman as the large suspect who placed a gun against her stomach and forced her into her living room, the document states."

Nevertheless, we acknowledge his efforts toward rehabilitation, condemn his apparent murder, and honor his memory...

"He'd been through a lot of stuff in his life -- a lot of stuff -- and to make it out after you rehabilitate yourself and you're intelligent enough to know 'I can't go back to the same surroundings because it's going to bring me back to the same spot,'" he said.
    Reference: https://abcnews.go.com/US/george-flo...ry?id=70954744

Now contrast the Floyd circumstances with the lack of forgiveness and presumed rehabilitation for this Tennessee high school senior...

A racial slur, a viral video, and a reckoning

"Groves’ parents, who said their daughter was being targeted by a social media “mob” for a mistake she made as an adolescent, urged university officials to assess her character by speaking with her high school and cheer coaches. Instead, admissions officials gave her an ultimatum: withdraw or the university would rescind her offer of admission."
    Reference: https://indianexpress.com/article/wo...oning-7121954/

Does not our justice system confront the transgressions of youthful offenders with the hope of rehabilitation?

Does not one believe that George Floyd would be outraged at a system which does not presume redemption in the expectation of salvation?

    Coming to America?

While the mainstream media today continued to focus its wrath on savaging Trump regarding the stimulus, the lag in vaccination distribution, even referring to him as a criminal, not one drop of ink was spent on the Hunter Biden, Swalwell scandals and where Joe Biden once again gets a pass.

Despite the polarization and chaos raging in the country, millions of Americans are more concerned about the Georgia senate election outcome and the future direction our country could take should it come under total Democratic Party government control. How far left could the country go and could the current anarchy get any worse.

Making the social media rounds again and stoking the fires of political divide is a past prophetic conceptual on the destruction of America from within and the behaviors that much resemble what is taking place in America today – Marxist socialism, cancel culture, identity politics, an animus to free speech and to opinion other than that held by the other, defunding the police, etc.; an ideology that even advocates violence over peace.

Isn’t the following analogous to what is taking place in America today; and has actually in the making for some time?

We know Dick Lamm as the former Governor of Colorado. In that context his thoughts are particularly poignant. Last week there was an immigration overpopulation conference in Washington, DC, filled to capacity by many of America 's finest minds and leaders. A brilliant college professor by the name of Victor Hansen Davis talked about his latest book, 'Mexifornia,' (2002) explaining how immigration - both legal and illegal was destroying the entire state of California. He said it would march across the country until it destroyed all vestiges of The American Dream.

Moments later, former Colorado Governor Richard D. Lamm stood up and gave a stunning speech on how to destroy America

The audience sat spellbound as he described eight methods for the destruction of the United States. He said, 'If you believe that America is too smug, too self-satisfied, too rich, then let's destroy America. It is not that hard to do. No nation in history has survived the ravages of time. Arnold Toynbee observed that all great civilizations rise and fall and that 'An autopsy of history would show that all great nations commit suicide.''

'Here is how they do it,' Lamm said:

'First, to destroy America, turn America into a bilingual or multi-lingual and bicultural country. History shows that no nation can survive the tension, conflict, and antagonism of two or more competing languages and cultures. It is a blessing for an individual to be bilingual; however, it is a curse for a society to be bilingual. The historical scholar, Seymour Lipset, put it this way: 'The histories of bilingual and bicultural societies that do not assimilate are histories of turmoil, tension, and tragedy.' Canada, Belgium, Malaysia, and Lebanon all face crises of national existence in which minorities press for autonomy, if not independence. Pakistan and Cyprus have divided. Nigeria suppressed an ethnic rebellion. France faces difficulties with Basques, Bretons, Corsicans and Muslims.'

    Lamm went on:

'Second, to destroy America, invent 'multiculturalism' and encourage immigrants to maintain their culture. Make it an article of belief that all cultures are equal; that there are no cultural differences. Make it an article of faith that the Black and Hispanic dropout rates are due solely to prejudice and discrimination by the majority. Every other explanation is out of bounds.

'Third, we could make the United States a 'Hispanic Quebec ' without much effort. The key is to celebrate diversity rather than unity. As Benjamin Schwarz said in the Atlantic Monthly recently: 'The apparent success of our own multi-ethnic and multicultural experiment might have been achieved not by tolerance but by hegemony. Without the dominance that once dictated ethnocentricity and what it meant to be an American, we are left with only tolerance and pluralism to hold us together.' Lamm said, 'I would encourage all immigrants to keep their own language and culture. I would replace the melting pot metaphor with the salad bowl metaphor. It is important to ensure that we have various cultural subgroups living in America enforcing their differences rather than as Americans, emphasizing their similarities.'

'Fourth, I would make our fastest growing demographic group the least educated. I would add a second underclass, unassimilated, undereducated, and antagonistic to our population. I would have this second underclass have a 50% dropout rate from high school.'

'My fifth point for destroying America would be to get big foundations and business to give these efforts lots of money. I would invest in ethnic identity, and I would establish the cult of 'Victimology.' I would get all minorities to think that their lack of success was the fault of the majority. I would start a grievance industry blaming all minority failure on the majority plantation.

'My sixth plan for America's downfall would include dual citizenship and promote divided loyalties. I would celebrate diversity over unity. I would stress differences rather than similarities. Diverse people worldwide are mostly engaged in hating each other - that is, when they are not killing each other. A diverse, peaceful, or stable society is against most historical precept. People undervalue the unity it takes to keep a nation together. Look at the ancient Greeks. The Greeks believed that they belonged to the same race; they possessed a common language and literature; and they worshipped the same gods. All Greece took part in the Olympic games. A common enemy, Persia, threatened their liberty. Yet all these bonds were not strong enough to overcome two factors: local patriotism and geographical conditions that nurtured political divisions. Greece fell. 'E. Pluribus Unum' -- From many, one. In that historical reality, if we put the emphasis on the 'pluribus' instead of the 'Unum,' we will 'Balkanize’ America as surely as Kosovo.'

'Next to last, I would place all subjects off limits. Make it taboo to talk about anything against the cult of 'diversity.' I would find a word similar to 'heretic' in the 16th century - that stopped discussion and paralyzed thinking. Words like 'racist' or 'xenophobe' halt discussion and debate. Having made America a bilingual/bicultural country, having established multi-cultum, having the large foundations fund the doctrine of 'Victimology,' I would next make it impossible to enforce our immigration laws. I would develop a mantra: That because immigration has been good for America, it must always be good. I would make every individual immigrant symmetric and ignore the cumulative impact of millions of them.'

In the last minute of his speech, Governor Lamm wiped his brow. Profound silence followed. Finally he said, 'Lastly, I would censor Victor Hanson Davis's book 'Mexifornia.' His book is dangerous. It exposes the plan to destroy America. If you feel America deserves to be destroyed, don't read that book.'

There was no applause. A chilling fear quietly rose like an ominous cloud above every attendee at the conference. Every American in that room knew that everything Lamm enumerated was proceeding methodically, quietly, darkly, yet pervasively across the United States today. Discussion is being suppressed. Over 100 languages are ripping the foundation of our educational system and national cohesiveness. Even barbaric cultures that practice female genital mutilation are growing as we celebrate 'diversity.' American jobs are vanishing into the Third World as corporations create a Third World in America Take note of California and other states. To date, ten million illegal aliens and growing fast. It is reminiscent of George Orwell's book '1984.' In that story, three slogans are engraved in the Ministry of Truth building: 'War is peace,' 'Freedom is slavery,' and 'Ignorance is strength.'

Governor Lamm walked back to his seat. It dawned on everyone at the conference that our nation and the future of this great democracy is deeply in trouble and worsening fast. If we don't get this immigration monster stopped within three years, it will rage like a California wildfire and destroy everything in its path, especially The American Dream.

The biased mainstream media openly defines the Trump administration as the most evil, inept, corrupt in history. 74 million live, deplorable registered voters believe otherwise.

Unity, Mr. Biden? I don't think so. We are so screwed!

Unbelievably prophetic Lee; a chilling presentation of a "How To" manual to de-construct the United States and turn it into a civilization composed of hostile competing tribes.

I do remember contemporaneously greeting the Lamb comments with alarm and agreement.

What Lamb did not foresee, or at least address, was the role of the Constitution and the SCOTUS.

Particularly pertinent in a timely way, I would observe that while America's Constitutional system is based on the powers and autonomy of the states, each state is bound to the limitations specified in the charter document. For example Article Two mandates "Each state shall appoint, in such manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a number of electors, equal to the whole number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress..."

Simply put, every state legislature is charged with the construction of its state's scheme to conduct a Presidential election. The Constitution simply does not permit the unilateral action of any governor, secretary of the state, or local election official(s) to determine that template.

In 2020, the Supreme Court apparently has shunned to hear issues arising out of concerns that some states may have departed the Article Two Constitutional scheme. I am particularly troubled that at least in one instance, the SCOTUS refused to engage its responsibility of Original Jurisdiction. IMHO, that Court failure may have tended to treat the fundamental instrument of national unity in such a way as to significantly reduce its intended purpose.

Without the faithfully applied specifications of the Constitution, how do the fifty independent states legitimately elect a common national leader?

IMHO, the timidity of the SCOTUS risks relegating the harmony of a united American nation to the anarchy of competing tribal groups.

    What is Biden hiding?

Today, CNN and other mainstream media outlets savaged Trump like every other day. Don Lemon featured a montage of Trumps virus kerfuffle, and with good reason.
Trump has been his worst enemy in 2020. And the media doesn’t miss a beat in bringing everything to light.

Will the mainstream media treat Biden in the same manner?

Three weeks from Inauguration Day and president-elect Biden has yet to announce several key Cabinet-level positions. His spokesperson declares those announcements are expected next week. Besides attorney general, Biden has not yet announced his picks for secretary of labor, secretary of commerce, CIA director and small business administrator.

When asked why such announcements are being delayed, Psaki, his transition spokesperson declared, "He is very thoughtful about how he makes the decisions of who he's going to nominate for the Cabinet and any real personnel decisions and we believe he deserves the time and space to make those decisions,"

This week, Biden said his transition team had "encountered roadblocks" from political leadership at the Defense Department and the Office of Management and Budget as his advisers work with the Trump administration.

Biden declares Trump is responsible for all virus deaths, the stimulus debacle, the economic decline, promises to police the police, etc., etc., etc. And the mainstream media accepts Biden’s comments without question or reservation.

“Hey man, come on you know I’m not a socialist,” declares Biden. Yet he declares he will be recognized as the most ‘progressive’ president ever and chose as his vice president the most liberal senator in Congress.

If In delaying his final cabinet positions until after the January 5th Georgia senate elections and where the two Democrats win to gain Senate majority status allowing Biden to appoint far-left socialists to his cabinet with greater certainty of getting his appointees approved, he has betrayed his moderate base.

To hell with comity and unity then. And then, we are really screwed!

    Interesting / unique opinion column

An interesting and unique post by an ultra-conservative journalist on President Trump. Would love to read a similar critique by a left leaning journalist on president-elect Biden. Seems unlikely, eh?

The left will salivate when reading the 10 worst list and savage Thiessen when he publishes his 10-best list as many of them believe he has accomplished nothing worthwhile and deserves to live in infamy.

MARC THIESSEN: The 10 worst things Trump did in 2020

This week, I offer my annual lists of the 10 best and 10 worst things President Trump did this year. Since 2020 was such a horrible year, we’ll start with the worst things first.

MARC THIESSEN: The 10 best things Trump did in 2020

In my last column, I offered my list of the 10 worst things President Trump did in 2020. Here are the 10 best:

    10. He improved the lives of a majority of Americans. Despite the worst pandemic since 1918, the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression and the worst racial unrest since the 1960s, a record 56 percent of Americans told Gallup before the election that they were better off now under Trump than they were four years

    9. He expanded GOP support among non-White voters. Trump earned 26 percent of the non-White vote in 2020 — the second-best showing for a Republican since 1976. After four years of branding Trump a bigot, his critics were shocked to see his support among blacks and Latinos grow in 2020. The lesson is that the way to win non-white voters is not by trying to beat Democrats at identity politics but by delivering real improvements in people’s lives.

    8. He made history as the first U.S. president to speak in person at the March for Life. Pro-life conservatives have always been the black sheep of the Republican coalition, tolerated because their votes were needed. But Trump embraced the pro-life movement in a way no other president has — and delivered an unprecedented string of pro-life victories.

    7. He stopped the Democrats’ “blue wave.” Far from damaging his party at the polls, Trump helped Republicans stop Democrats from taking the Senate (for now) and gain at least 11 net seats in the House without losing a single Republican incumbent. Democrats are left with the slimmest House majority in 20 years, and Republicans are poised to take back the House in 2022.

    6. He shut down travel from China, held Beijing responsible for the pandemic and cracked down on China’s intellectual property theft. Anthony Fauci testified that Trump’s decision to shut down most travel from China in January saved lives. Trump correctly blamed the Chinese regime for unleashing the virus on the world through its lies and deception and took on China’s recruiting of U.S.-based scientists and researchers to steal American intellectual property and taxpayer-funded research for its economic and military advancement.

    5. He took out Iran’s terrorist Quds force leader Qasem Soleimani. Trump drew a red line, warning Tehran that if it killed even one American, he would respond militarily — and then enforced it. His Soleimani strike eliminated the mastermind of Iran’s proxy wars across the Middle East and restored deterrence with Tehran.

    4. He put Amy Coney Barrett on the Supreme Court. The last president to appoint at least three justices in his first term was Richard M. Nixon. Barrett’s confirmation secured a decisive 6-to-3 conservative majority that will affect the court’s jurisprudence for a generation, with far-reaching consequences for life, religious liberty, free speech, Second Amendment rights, the separation of powers and limited government.

    3. He transformed the Middle East with the Abraham Accords. Trump brokered not one, not two, not three, but four Arab-Israeli peace accords — the first agreements in more than a quarter-century. He did it by rejecting the failed conventional wisdom of the foreign policy establishment, which said that there could be no separate peace without the Palestinians, that moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem and confronting Iran’s aggression would inflame the region and put peace out of reach. It did the opposite. The Abraham Accords are an achievement worthy of a Nobel Prize and would rank No. 1 in a normal year. But two other Trump achievements eclipsed it.

    2. He averted a second Great Depression with the CARES Act. When the pandemic began, economists warned that the U.S. was barreling toward a second Great Depression. The CARES Act not only saved us from that harrowing fate but also helped businesses come roaring back from the spring lockdowns, producing record-breaking 33.1 percent annualized GDP growth in the third quarter. In March, the conventional wisdom was that it would take years for the economy to recover. Today, thanks to Trump’s leadership, we are poised for a rapid recovery next year.

    1. He launched Operation Warp Speed, one of the greatest public health achievements in history. Until now, the record for the fastest vaccine development was four years. Operation Warp Speed did it in nine months. Because of Operation Warp Speed, the worst of the pandemic should be over by the spring. For all his mistakes in managing the pandemic, Trump is also responsible for ending it.

Despite giving us his worst list of worsts in 2020, the president also gave us his best list of bests.
