    Perhaps is that the so-called "inherent privilege" that attended my experience of first hearing of how my Italian grandfather was literally kicked in the ass while working in various low-paying jobs, or equally, did that so-called "inherent privilege" contribute to the ebullient satisfaction that I gleaned from anecdote and historic documents which confirmed that it took the United States Army 24 years to fully and finally concede that my Polish grandfather was actually the victim of a chemical warfare attack in 1918, and justified the delay with a disgusting holding he could not properly express himself?

    (That so-called "inherent privilege" cost him and his surviving children twenty-four years in disability benefits, as he languished in a military hospital suffering from a perceived perplexing medical condition.)

    Perhaps that so-called "inherent privilege" was also reflected in the exploitation of my dual entitlements; a social baptism by a plethora of insensitive tauntings which styled me a "Dumb Pollock" and a "Dago;" truly a good-natured simulcast of ethnic repartees, eh?


    I was born with white skin, but not with an inherited advantage of privilege, nor with an assumed bigotry toward any fellow human.


    Ergo, to those who suggest that I should submissively bow and apologize for my "privilege," I answer: "POUND SALT!"

    Furthermore, should not such a consideration of history serve to advance without division, judgement, and humiliation, the lifting of the overall human condition?

    Does it not appear that the problem with "sanitized" history is that it may hold from the student a true understanding of what actually occurred, such as the fact that President Lincoln previously pronounced a collective national guilt for slavery, and identified the Civil War as the just application of God's wrath upon the entire nation, North and South, for that transgression?

    Did not Lincoln also suggest that the process of redemption would necessarily be an ongoing project?...

    With malice toward none, with charity for all, with firmness in the right as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in, to bind up the nation's wounds, to care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan, to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations


    After 155 years of needed institutional remediation, is it not now time to turn away from the meaningless superficial world of publicly expressed collective guilt, and to hold for atonement, those bearing personal responsibility?

    It often occurs to me that 100 years from now, will the Americans of America's third century, identify any of our current legally-sanctioned practices, worthy of an apology by those applicants, who hold by virtue of protected "choice," a privilege over other helpless human beings?

    As a great many American citizens, while still very concerned regarding Covid-19’s devastation and potential threat of its once again spreading, I am tired of reading and hearing of the escalating divisiveness, hatred and chaos resulting from political hypocrisy and BS emanating from both political parties and their media lackeys, whose agendas lay with their best interests, not that of the country’s.

    I first heard (and was upset and concerned) when hearing the words hatred, disrespect and told that change was coming was when I first read this years ago:

    Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171...

    During rendition of the national anthem, when the flag is displayed, all present (except those in uniform) are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Or, at the very least, "Stand and Face It".


    Senator Obama replied:

    "As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides." "There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression..." "The anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all that sort of thing."

    Obama continued: "The National Anthem should be 'swapped' for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like To Teach the World To Sing'. If that were our anthem, then, I might salute it. In my opinion, we should consider reinventing our National Anthem as well as 'redesign' our Flag to better offer our enemies hope and love.     I received this from a friend today. I well understand the anger of this vet!

    We all the know the sacred meaning of the flag awarded the family of a passed military individual. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would pander to the social erupters she is using for her personal agenda by violating the sanctity of the presentation of the flag. If you had military in your family and proudly display the flag commemorating their service, you have to be disgusted by this presentation.

I don’t care what your stance is on the situation, he was NOT part of our armed forces nor was he a first responder!!! This is something you earn through service to our country or to your state or community. This is not something we just toss around!!!     Regrettably, to the best of my knowledge, no such honor was accorded to his memory by this, or any other, Speaker of the House of Representatives.
