If you are white, are you ready to acknowledge, apologize and atone for your inherent privileges, inherent / unconscious racist mindset, and lack of guilt for history imperfections. I am listening to ‘woke’ celebrities asking how they can rid themselves of ‘white allergies’.

In Michael Shaara's Civil War novel Killer Angels, the Buster Killrain character observed:

"... you cannot judge a race. Any man who judges by the group is a peawit. You take men one at a time."

Those words, perhaps fictitious, are in my opinion, entirely applicable to your post. They are as you often write "Spot On!"

I am in fact the sum product of two white ethnic groups, so I ask...

Perhaps is that the so-called "inherent privilege" that attended my experience of first hearing of how my Italian grandfather was literally kicked in the ass while working in various low-paying jobs, or equally, did that so-called "inherent privilege" contribute to the ebullient satisfaction that I gleaned from anecdote and historic documents which confirmed that it took the United States Army 24 years to fully and finally concede that my Polish grandfather was actually the victim of a chemical warfare attack in 1918, and justified the delay with a disgusting holding he could not properly express himself?

(That so-called "inherent privilege" cost him and his surviving children twenty-four years in disability benefits, as he languished in a military hospital suffering from a perceived perplexing medical condition.)

Perhaps that so-called "inherent privilege" was also reflected in the exploitation of my dual entitlements; a social baptism by a plethora of insensitive tauntings which styled me a "Dumb Pollock" and a "Dago;" truly a good-natured simulcast of ethnic repartees, eh?


I was born with white skin, but not with an inherited advantage of privilege, nor with an assumed bigotry toward any fellow human.


Ergo, to those who suggest that I should submissively bow and apologize for my "privilege," I answer: "POUND SALT!"

Healthy societies do not destroy their own history!


The ’new normal’?

Should we reconstruct history to deceptively purify who we were, or should we embrace the past to constructively advance who we can be?

Perhaps it may be wise to view the term "History" as the compound word product of the phrase "His Story;" the story of God and its people.

Does not that hybrid word suggest an unfiltered digest of man's sins and good works?

It seems to me that non-purified history does not magnify righteousness, nor does it erase evil. Therefore, should it not serve as a foundational reminder of our historic strengths and weaknesses; transgressions and virtues, to be faithfully referred to in pursuit of "a more perfect" existence?

Furthermore, should not such a consideration of history serve to advance without division, judgement, and humiliation, the lifting of the overall human condition?

Does it not appear that the problem with "sanitized" history is that it may hold from the student a true understanding of what actually occurred, such as the fact that President Lincoln previously pronounced a collective national guilt for slavery, and identified the Civil War as the just application of God's wrath upon the entire nation, North and South, for that transgression?

Did not Lincoln also suggest that the process of redemption would necessarily be an ongoing project?...

With malice toward none, with charity for all, with firmness in the right as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in, to bind up the nation's wounds, to care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan, to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations

After 155 years of needed institutional remediation, is it not now time to turn away from the meaningless superficial world of publicly expressed collective guilt, and to hold for atonement, those bearing personal responsibility?

It often occurs to me that 100 years from now, will the Americans of America's third century, identify any of our current legally-sanctioned practices, worthy of an apology by those applicants, who hold by virtue of protected "choice," a privilege over other helpless human beings?

Another misleading CNN headline and report. Documented immigrants have nothing to fear if they are protesting peacefully. Illegals (undocumented immigrants) do.

As a great many American citizens, while still very concerned regarding Covid-19’s devastation and potential threat of its once again spreading, I am tired of reading and hearing of the escalating divisiveness, hatred and chaos resulting from political hypocrisy and BS emanating from both political parties and their media lackeys, whose agendas lay with their best interests, not that of the country’s.

I first heard (and was upset and concerned) when hearing the words hatred, disrespect and told that change was coming was when I first read this years ago:

During rendition of the national anthem, when the flag is displayed, all present (except those in uniform) are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Or, at the very least, "Stand and Face It".

Senator Obama replied:

"As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides." "There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression..." "The anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all that sort of thing."

I believe by law there is civilian control of the military, so, its status as "Commander-In-Chief" notwithstanding, a President most probably would not be subject to military law as long as civilian courts are functioning. At least, that is my understanding.

But my intent is not to cast doubt upon this Leftist whacko's towering intellect. Rather, I am curious about the trending comments suggesting the possibility that military justice or force may be applied to President Trump.

Disrespecting the flag, again!

I received this from a friend today. I well understand the anger of this vet!

We all the know the sacred meaning of the flag awarded the family of a passed military individual. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would pander to the social erupters she is using for her personal agenda by violating the sanctity of the presentation of the flag. If you had military in your family and proudly display the flag commemorating their service, you have to be disgusted by this presentation.

I am livid!!! Our Military and our veterans and our first responders are treated like crap!! So what does Nancy Pelosi do?? She has presented George Floyd’s brother with a folded American flag that should be reserved for service men and women. Are you kidding me?? I don’t care what your stance is on the situation, he was NOT part of our armed forces nor was he a first responder!!! This is something you earn through service to our country or to your state or community. This is not something we just toss around!!! A Question Of Appropriate Proportionality?

Dr. Martin Luther King dedicated his entire life to the Civil Rights movement, and in point of fact, just hours before his April 4, 1968 assassination by a self-confessed white bigot, he publicly acknowledged the possibility of his own assassination, and did so with determined acceptance:

In many ways, Dr. King invested in a soldier's existence: He functioned daily with an ever-present knowledge that his life could be violently taken by a fanatical enemy, but, with premeditated commitment, he was willing to die for his noble cause. As such, IMHO, if anyone deserved such an honor, it was Dr. King.

In the photo illustrated below, you will note that no flag draped his casket during the funeral service, and to the best of my recollection, there was no flag present during the graveside ceremonies.

Regrettably, to the best of my knowledge, no such honor was accorded to his memory by this, or any other, Speaker of the House of Representatives.
