Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation Executive Director Marion Smith said, “The historical amnesia about the dangers of communism and socialism is on full display in this year’s report. When we don’t educate our youngest generations about the historical truth of 100 million victims murdered at the hands of communist regimes over the past century, we shouldn’t be surprised at their willingness to embrace Marxist ideas.”

Never in my lifetime did I expect to see such a report.

    Did you expect anything less?

And, this is but the first counterpunch.

Yes, Virginia, there is a moderate Democrat presidential candidate worth looking into. From the Los Angeles Times:

The mayor is on the upswing as Biden’s lethargic campaign performance and anemic fundraising have the party’s establishment in a panic, and moderate voters scoping out alternatives.

Instead of “Medicare for all,” Buttigieg proposes “Medicare for all who want it.” Instead of free college for all, he proposes free college for those who can’t afford it. Instead of soaking the rich with trillions of dollars in new taxes, he says they have to pay more — but not radically more.

Buttigieg chafes at comparisons to Biden and Bloomberg. “My message is not about going back to where we were,” he said.

For a lot of people, “‘normal’ has been a real problem for a very long time, and I think the failures of the old normal help explain how we got Trump. I am running on building a future that is going to have a lot of differences.… One thing I learned in 2016 is to be very skeptical of any message that relies on the word ‘again.’ ”

What is happening to our country. This is disgusting.

    https://dailycaller.com/2019/11/11/s...lic-urination/

San Francisco’s pee problem could soon get worse.

Chesa Boudin, the urine-and-feces-plagued city’s incoming district attorney, pledged during the campaign not to prosecute public urination and other quality-of-life crimes if he was elected. Boudin declared victory Saturday night after results showed him winning a plurality of votes in the DA race.

Boudin’s parents were members of the Weather Underground domestic terrorist group.

Boudin “was raised in Chicago by Weather Underground leaders Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn” after his parents were sent to prison on murder charges while he was a toddler.

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders cheered Boudin’s victory in the election. “Now is the moment to fundamentally transform our racist and broken criminal justice system by ending mass incarceration, the failed war on drugs and the criminalization of poverty,” the Vermont Sen. wrote on Twitter Saturday, congratulating Boudin on his “historic victory!”

Hey guys and gals, hanging on to every word of the impeachment inquiry? Why?

It is not only boring but a sad testament to the time and money the Dems are wasting on this blatant attempt to oust Trump from office. Not a good day for the Dems.

Fox News, network anchor Chris Wallace called former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor’s testimony “very damaging to the president.” Why? Both Taylor and Kent denied having any contact with Trump.

Then pundits and media try to tell us that hearsay is often better that firsthand knowledge. Imagine a prosecutor in a murder trial leading with two witnesses who didn’t know anything about the crime but heard a rumor the accused was guilty. What Taylor and Kent heard would never be considered in a court of law. The fact that Schiff’s leading with them indicates he has no real evidence.

Then House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) denies any knowledge of the identity of the so-called “whistleblower,” whose complaint sparked the House Democrats’ impeachment inquiry.

This hearing far outweighs other matters in importance; like DACA, border security, illegal immigration, the homeless, the poor, climate change, the budget, trade, foreign policy, etc., right?

I love it when people complain that the inquiry is boring. Seriously, that's your complaint that the investigation and questioning isn't exciting enough? Government isn't supposed to be a reality show with a "tune in tomorrow to see what happens next" cliffhanger, despite that Trump tries to play it off like that.

Also, there are a good number of bills stalled in the Senate that were passed by the house.

Story on this morning explained the change from the quid pro quo phrase to the new word “bribery”. Pelosi speaking yesterday used bribery several times in conjunction with qpq, sounds dirtier.

That was on the morning news cycle.

What is even more unbelievable besides my lack of grammar skills is we have a group that actively supports the DNC in Erie County. Literally since day one it's been impeach impeach impeach.... Along with the items we learn about Cuomo and crew... yet this group will actively support candidates of the same mindset come election time. Breezy? You know exactly what group of characters I'm referring to

    When hatred clouds rationale

Trump’s Yovanovitch tweet was indeed extraordinarily poor judgement. Yet, expected from a man who reeks of insensitivity and thuggish behavior. It is easy to run the gamut from dislike to hate of the man for his boorish reprisals.

    Today’s media reports:

“Everywhere Marie Yovanovitch went turned bad. She started off in Somalia, how did that go?” Trump said. “Then fast forward to Ukraine, where the new Ukrainian President spoke unfavorably about her in my second phone call with him. It is a U.S. President’s absolute right to appoint ambassadors.”
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam B. Schiff (D-Calif.) decided to read the tweet aloud and give Yovanovitch a chance to respond. She said she found the effect of Trump’s words “very intimidating.”

There wasn’t a perfect consensus of experts, but most agreed that Trump’s tweet falls pretty clearly within our understanding of an impeachable offense. As to whether or not it constitutes a crime, the question is almost irrelevant since prosecution is all but impossible.

It’s “very possible” that House Democrats will include witness intimidation in articles of impeachment if articles of impeachment are filed.

Seriously, worthy of articles of impeachment?

Marie Yovanovitch Not Interested in Hunter Biden Corruption or Ukrainian Election Meddling

Yovanovitch demonstrated she was indifferent or even averse to any corruption concerns surrounding Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden and even denied that Ukrainians were meddling in the 2016 election.

“It was not the focus of what I was doing in that six-month period,” she said when asked by Republican counsel Steve Castor about her understanding of Hunter Biden’s role.

She even denied that the issue was ever raised while she was the ambassador, pointing to Hunter Biden’s decision to resign from the board after his father decided to run for president.

While previous diplomatic officials testifying on Tuesday admitted that Hunter Biden’s role on the Burisma board was problematic, Yovanovitch only admitted that it may have created the “appearance” of a conflict of interest.

Like Obama, the GOP wants answers on Hunter Biden’s Ukraine dealings. "Move on." say the Democrats

    Bribery Charge

When questioned by Rep. Chris Stewart (R-UT), Former United States Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch admitted on Friday that she has no knowledge of President Donald Trump accepting bribes nor of the president being involved in any criminal activity.

Why was she there as a star witness?

    Whistleblower to testify

“September 29 in the Wall Street Journal: ‘The whistleblower at the center of the impeachment investigation of President Trump will testify in the House very soon.’

Finally! Maybe there will be some sizzle to the steak. In the meantime, political theater. Got to get him out of office somehow as his popularity and chance for election increases proportionally to the numerous failed attempts by the Dems to oust him from office.

    NOT TRUE!

Maybe if President Trump stopped doing stupid things and acted like a normal human being he would have had a much better presidency!

What happened to him being the best deal-making in history?

He's acting how most normal people act. AND I know exactly what he means "Acting presidential" when he jokes about it.

Have you been watching the impeachment circus show? I'm surprised anyone in the Erie County Democratic Party isn't calling BS on it.

    Freedom of speech?

The following appeared in a Breitbart London report:

Chancellor Angela Merkel railed against free speech in the German parliament, declaring that freedom of expression which offends “the dignity of other people” must be censored to secure a truly free society.

“We have freedom of expression,” the migrant crisis architect began dubiously, in a speech to the German federal parliament, or Bundestag, uploaded to social media by state broadcaster Deutsche Welle (DW).

“For all those who claim that they can no longer express their opinion, I say this to them: If you express a pronounced opinion, you must live with the fact that you will be contradicted. Expressing an opinion does not come at zero cost!” she warned ominously, to applause from the assembled politicians.

“But freedom of expression has its limits. Those limits begin where hatred is spread. They begin where the dignity of other people is violated!” she continued, gesticulating wildly.

“This house will and must oppose extreme speech. Otherwise our society will no longer be the free society that it was,” she concluded, somewhat contradictorily.
Andrew Doyle, the comedian and free speech advocate behind the popular Titania McGrath parody account which lampoons left-liberal social justice warriors, was disturbed by Mrs. Merkel’s speech, observing that “hate speech” is always “defined by those with the power to legislate against it.”

“The state must never be trusted to set the limits of acceptable speech,” he warned, adding that it was “very sinister to see such authoritarian ideas endorsed in the name of ‘freedom’.”

Indeed, quite how meaningful “free” speech rights which only cover speech the state does not deem “extreme” or offensive to the “dignity of others” can really be is unclear — but the Orwellian notion that the truly “free” society is one where free speech is curtailed is not unique to Germany.

The British government under Theresa May previously rejected a petition for a Free Speech Act and an end to so-called “hate speech” prohibitions with a nonsensical claim that “UK legislation values free speech and enables people who wish to engage in debate to do so… [but] hate speech [is] not acceptable in our society, and anyone seeking to use freedom of speech as an excuse to break the law should still face the full force of the law.”

    Interesting!

Where is the line drawn when two people expressing different opinions, and the one decides they have been offended by the other’s position? More so, when the discussion centers on subject matter that involves immigration, gender, race, etc. and the charge goes from offensive to ‘hate speech’?

Why is it okay for celebrities in our country to publicly say: “F*** Trump? To call him a ‘racist’? Carry around a mock severed head of Trump? Call him Hitler. But the public must remain silent on expressing opinions that are not ‘politicly correct’ for fear of reprisal?

The Trump administration sanctions, mostly notably their tight restrictions on exports of Iran’s oil, are a big reason for the shortfall. The sanctions are meant to pressure Iran into renegotiating the 2015 nuclear agreement between Iran and major world powers, which President Trump abandoned, calling it too weak.

Does this mean Trump will be blamed for the deaths of the Iranians?

Will the Democrats rise up and advocate for another $150 billion to be shipped to Iran?
