Although such a system has post-Watergate taboo overtones, the taping system's original intent was to remedy the type of "selective" and "subjective" interpretations, which are suggested by the current circumstances.

Number three, these earthy comments, like so many others uttered by the President, are a "Tempest In A Teapot." Did everyone ever listen to the Kennedy and Johnson tapes? Did anyone ever read any accounts of the "Ex-Com" meetings during the Cuban Crisis?

The only differences between the tone and "colorful substance" of those conversations and comments, and those of Trump's, are, absent self-serving partisan hyperbole, a common-sense appreciation for some exaggerated, "passion-based" words, a willingness to give those words some conversational latitude, and the goodwill of the participants to respect some semblance of confidentiality, public decorum, and good taste.

But Trump's antagonists lack character. As Jim Garrison asked in On The Trail of the Assassins, "What do you expect from a pig but a grunt?
Democrats could give a rat's behind about their citizens. Just look at the bs coming out of New Jersey with the new governor... forget education, rotting infrastructure, and poverty, he is focused on protecting illegal immigrants first and foremost. They are disgusting, and I cannot fathom how they get a single vote.

Under these perceived shutdown rules, as I understand them, the military will be severely impacted. Justify the DACA cause when the body bags arrive.

So, some of the Democrats come to their senses and realize using DACA as a bargaining chip to shut the government down was not a good idea and went along to approve a stopgap measure to fund spending – the same bill as presented earlier. Schumer looked like a smuck to the hard-line progressives and now looks like a smuck for pulling back his building a wall support.

Some Democrats are willing to still resist approving the passage based on their belief that the rights of ‘unauthorized’ immigrants are as important as that of citizens that they are willing to see hundreds of thousands of American workers lose funding and sacrifice the CHIPS program. Incredible!

The adamant 'no vote' casters include the likes of potential Democratic 2020 presidential candidates:

    Elizabeth Warren
    Kamala D. Harris
    Kirsten E. Gillibrand
    Cory A. Booker
    Bernie Sanders

While the Trumpster continues to burn bridges, Independents will not look favorably at this fiasco and on those willing to put illegal immigrant best interests above their own citizens.

The *dreamers* are gaining momentum, their voices are influencing political interests over American interests. The Democrats have a dilemma here, there is enough traditional minded common sense Americans out there whose vote still has influence. But we are shrinking, and what lies ahead are the *dreamers* in growth=numbers=influence=power.

75% of polled Americans believe DREAMERS should be allowed to remain in our country. Not all agree on what status they should be given. And, there are many that believe DACA had no place being an issue affecting the shutting down of our government.

To call it either the ‘Schumer shutdown’ or the ‘Trump shutdown’ was ludicrous considering removing the DACA solution to a later date with the promise of taking it to a future Congressional vote was the compromise worked out between Schumer and Trump and was the right move made to delay the shutdown. And, the same proposal was voted on which could have occurred last Friday and a three-day shutdown could have been avoided. (And these same dumb-asses keep getting re-elected)

Having his ass roasted by the left extremists Schumer retracts his wall support and we are back to square one where the Democrats cannot be perceived as anything less than advocating for open borders and holding the interests and rights of illegal immigrants equal to that of American citizens; where our military and hundreds of thousands of federal workers could have their pay impacted.

Is the DREAMERS movement really gaining momentum, or is that what the left and biased media want us to believe but where the general population is reticent to openly declare their true feelings for fear of being labeled racists, xenophobes or lacking in compassion – in other words, deplorables who hold American citizen best interests over that of illegal / undocumented / unauthorized immigrants.

Unfortunately, we in the middle are subjected to infantile political posturing on both sides of the aisles by extremists whose idea of best interests reflect only on their agendas and re-elections. It was heartening to listen to Joe Manchin, D-WV today speaking on shutdown and DACA issues; a man of reason.

If the security of the southern border was proper this would not even be an issue today.

I caught a part of Sandy Beach on my way in today. His topic was about Dreamers. I wouldn't care if they had a path to citizen ship if every else trump wanted was approved. Wall, no more chain migration, visa lottery and lower immigration levels. 1800's and early 1900's we didn't really have enough people in the states. Now we do. Plus we didn't have all the welfare programs 100 years ago like we do now. It's costly.

    Agree!

Found this report interesting. Of course it was written by a conservative so it has to be fake news.

The DREAMERS are being used as pawns by the left for future votes and in the meantime we pick up those costly entitlement programs. The zealots on both sides of the aisle need to be ousted and replaced by moderates interested in governing in for the best interest of the country as a whole.

Dreamers should get their affairs in order and then be deported if they are not working or in school. They should have to have a clean record for as long as it takes others to get in the country legally before citizenship should be considered.

In their hate for Trump and losing the election the left may label Trump a deplorable buffoon but members of their own party are trying awfully hard to match his buffoonery - members like Pelosi, Kerry, Warren, Schumer and Gillibrand to name few. The things they say has to alienate true independents.

Which was more uplifting to watch at Tuesday evening’s SOTU, the smiling face of the left’s so-called narcissist, buffoon Trump or the constipated faces of the left?

The apoplectic liberal media out-did itself in its deranged coverage prior to and after SOTU.

Come on left, that buffoon is eating your lunch!

OMG, the resist coalition is so filled with rage and hate that smoke is coming from their ears as they trip over their own tongues. They are willing to torch the country to save political face.
