Biden suggested that Trump's China Travel Ban of January 30, 2020 was xenophobic, as did Pelosi. Then during the campaign, both had the gall to claim that Trump did nothing of substance to protect against the virus.

Children and adults are coming across the border testing positive for Covid. The detention facilities are near capacity and these individuals will be released into the general population. And the crossing are expected to increase.

No wonder Biden hasn't had a solo press conference in 43 days. They have him under lock and key when he is not signing one of his 50 executive orders to destroy Trump's legacy.

The question is: Are liberals really this stupid or are playing stupid for nefarious purposes? Besides doing everything they can to increase their voter base. Most of them can't come up with one sound platform or idea that the dem party has. I would take just one that makes any sense whatsoever.

Crybabies, well we don't like filibuster so let's get rid of it. We don't like the supreme court so lets pack it. We don't like the electoral college so let's get rid of it. Petulant children this bunch are.

Dispute on things not Covid-related in the $1.9 trillion relief bill

Fortunately, Republicans are railing against the legislation, saying it is replete with excess spending unrelated to the coronavirus pandemic and unnecessary after Congress already devoted some $4 trillion last year to fighting the pandemic. Issues:

    • Eligibility for $1,400 relief checks
    • Excluding a $15 minimum wage.
    • $350 billion pot of state and local aid, setting aside $10 billion of it for infrastructure needs that could include broadband
    • Including a rule barring cities and states from using any new federal money to pay down pension costs or offset new attempts to cut taxes.

Senate votes to open debate on Biden’s $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief bill

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/polit...?ocid=msedgntp

Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has guaranteed the House will pass the Senate’s version of the bill, despite some changes that liberals dislike, including narrowing eligibility for $1,400 relief checks and excluding a $15 minimum wage.

Cuomo advisers altered COVID-19 nursing homes report: WSJ

BY JORDAN WILLIAMS - 03/04/21 10:53 PM EST

Advisers to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) pushed state health officials to alter a public report from July over COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes, people with knowledge of the report’s production told The Wall Street Journal.

The report focused only on residents who died inside long-term care facilities and didn’t include those who died in hospitals after becoming sick in nursing homes. The report said that 6,432 nursing home residents had died, which was an undercount of the death toll, the sources told the newspaper.

The report in question came as a result of a study from the New York State Department of Health (DOH) into the impact of a March directive which stated that nursing homes couldn’t refuse to readmit residents or admit new residents from hospitals simply due to a COVID-19 diagnosis.

According to the newspaper, the report shifted the blame of the virus’s spread to staff who brought the virus with them to work.

The initial version of the report included data on deaths of nursing home residents inside of homes, as well as deaths that occurred in hospitals, the Journal reported. However, members of Cuomo’s COVID-19 task force, which included Secretary to the Governor Melissa DeRosa, requested that the report downplay the role of the March directive, which was rejected.

According to the Journal, the published report said the directive was “not a significant factor in nursing home fatalities.”

Garvey told the Journal that task force members didn’t request the change to the report, but were “very cautious to not overstate the statistical analysis presented in the report. Overall, ensuring public confidence in the conclusion was the ultimate goal of DOH and the Covid task force in issuing the report.”

The Journal’s report comes as Cuomo faces mounting calls for his resignation amid his handling of COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes, as well as allegations of inappropriate behavior from staff members.

State lawmakers came to an agreement on Tuesday to strip Cuomo of his pandemic-related emergency powers amid the controversies.

New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) released a report in January which found that Cuomo’s administration underreported nursing home deaths by as much as 50 percent, and faulted the March directive.

    Those damn non compassionate Republicans

President Biden’s surrogate mainstream media outlet decided to deride the Republicans in general today as heartless for daring to claim the Covid stimulus bill as more than a relief package, but a wish list for the progressive Democrats.

Republicans Won Blue-Collar Votes. They’re Not Offering Much in Return. (BS)

    https://www.nytimes.com/2021/03/04/u...ovid-bill.html

Republicans have offered very little to advance the economic interests of blue-collar workers.

In Washington, where Democrats won a vote on Thursday to advance a nearly $2 trillion economic stimulus bill to the Senate floor, they were facing universal opposition from congressional Republicans to the package, which is chock-full of measures to benefit struggling workers a full year into the coronavirus pandemic. The bill includes $1,400 checks to middle-income Americans and extended unemployment benefits, which are set to lapse on March 14.

It’s possible that Republicans who are not prioritizing economic issues are accurately reading their base. A survey last month by the G.O.P. pollster Echelon Insights found that the top concerns of Republican voters were mainly cultural ones: illegal immigration, lack of support for the police, high taxes and “liberal bias in mainstream media.”

“The Covid-19 relief bill was directly aimed at the struggles of working-class people,” Mr. Ryan said, adding that Republicans voting against the package were “in for a rude awakening.”

But Republicans who vote it down may not pay a political price, said Patrick Murray, the poll’s director. “They know that the checks will reach their base regardless, and they can continue to rail against Democratic excesses,” he said.

“There would only be a problem if they somehow managed to sink the bill,” he added.

    The Biden border plan

Let’s see if I have this right.

I live 15 miles away from the Canadian border, but the Peace Bridge is closed because Prime Minister Justin Trudeau decided to close the border because of Covid concerns. Closed (as of now) to even American citizens who have received both Covid vaccinations. Biden spoke to Trudeau on open the border and was told: ‘Not yet.”

Near one year of lockdowns, mandated masked wearing, gathering and social distancing restrictions, quarantines, testing / trace testing, Dr. Fauci’s daily scare tactics, opening the southern border to illegals sounds like a good idea to Biden.

Continue to shut down schools, businesses, restrict travel, etc., for Americans, but open the border to illegals; many of whom are not wearing masks, testing positive for Covid, if tested at all, and those not tested will eventually be sent on busses to all parts of America.

What could possibly go wrong there?

How does that make America better?

    Reshaping of America

America jettisoned Trump’s ‘Make America Plan’ in favor of the Biden ‘Maker America Better’ plan. How’s that Biden plan working out for you?

Do you believe Biden has brought the country together – subdued polarization and brought unity, even within Congress? Biden just stated that the unity is within his party and they will go it alone.

Happy with Biden’s open border immigration policy? 50 executive orders to change / eliminate anything Trump to make America better; or is it simply a move by Biden to destroy the hated Trump. Happy with the HR1 bill? Cancel culture? XL Keystone pipeline shut down? Gas 50 cents a gallon higher than a month ago?

Is America heading in the right direction? America is now considered the most polarized it has ever been. Thanks to former blowhard president Trump, the current most ‘progressive’ and disingenuous president, and a media that revels in publishing biased dark news.

I found the following news report spot on!

First, realize how half the electorate isn’t polarized
By Dave Anderson - THE FULCRUM

There were 240 million eligible voters in the United States last fall, and Joe Biden and Donald Trump each got approximately one-third of their votes.
Biden got 34% of these people to cast a ballot for him, Trump 31%. But, because of the math of the Electoral College, Trump would have secured reelection had only a combined 44,000 voters switched to him in Arizona, Wisconsin and Georgia. Moreover, millions who cast their votes for Biden did not do so with passion, and the same holds for Trump.

So it’s probably fair to say that half the electorate was not passionately behind one of the 2020 presidential candidates – the 80 million who decided not to cast a ballot at all, for starters, along with perhaps 40 million who voted for one candidate because they disliked, feared or hated the other one.

The new president and his fellow Democrats newly in control of Congress need to think seriously about these figures. After the latest economic rescue package is enacted, under special rules that will allow passage along party lines, the Democrats’ immediate task is to figure out how to deal with the Republican minority, especially in a Senate where 40 members can block almost all legislation and the GOP holds 50 seats. But the larger task is to figure out how to build unity in the country.

Biden said he would unite the country!

    We are so screwed!

    Lee,

Biden or his more accurately his governing Junta, are being true to the words of their inaugural address...

To all those who did not support us, let me say this: Hear me out as we move forward. Take a measure of me and my heart.

And if you still disagree, so be it.

In his subsequent acts as President, it is pretty clear to me that Biden's January 20, 2021 call was not for unity, but conformity.

His words referenced above, IMHO, was a nice way of saying, compromise be damned; its my way or the highway.

To be honest, I do, in a weird, non-supportive way, admire their commitment to the their revolution. I wish the people on my side had that tenacity.

Key Things You Need to Know About HR 1, the For the People Act of 2021

This is nuts. Felons and illegals can vote.

If the Democrats eliminate the filibuster, this will pass. Total Big Government control by the Democrats.

What were those sacred ideals promised in helping making America better? Oh yeah, unity, freedom of speech, tolerance, inclusion, social justice for all, protection under the law, civility, etc.

Biden is against the filibuster. Big deal, they are pushing him out. It’s just a matter of time when he is gone and replaced by the hypocrite Harris who is not advocating taking the Covid vaccine after initially declining.

This bill is appalling. I suspect they are ramming this through (everything under the kitchen sink) as they know they will not secure the House in next years election. My concerning part, additionally in the bill, is the federal offense on anyone claiming voter fraud. Not good...

When it came to sanctuary cities and a federal response to last summer's violence, the Left cleaved to the Tenth Amendment.

I thought that laws governing elections was left to the states. But on the other hand, this just may be post-Constitutional America.

    Minimum wage debate

The federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour hasn't budged since 2009, and as of 2021, 20 US states will continue to have a minimum wage either equal to or below the federal level, making $7.25 their default baseline.

The minimum wage across the country varies from the federally mandated minimum of $7.25 per hour in many states to as high $12 to $14.00 per hour. In New York, as of 2021, the minimum wage is $12.50/hr.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, where both federal and state minimum wage laws apply, an employer must pay the employee at the higher rate.

It appears every Senator agrees the $7.25 needs to be increased. But, by how much is another matter. If not to $15 where some states will be more impacted than others approaching $15, than by what amount.

Today’s report by columnist George Will fittingly addresses the minimum wage debate.

George Will: Minimum wage debate is mildly encouraging

    https://www.herald-dispatch.com/opin...78d8f8470.html

Minimum-wage increases poll well: When A supports compelling B to give money to C, C is pleased, A is pleased with himself for being virtuous with other people’s money, and B is at least pleased that he can pass some of his increased costs on to his customers, who perhaps include A, who might not notice. Normality is often not sensible, but we missed it when it was absent.
