    Lawsuit against the Taxpayers

    To All:

Like it or not, all property owners in the Town of Boston are now being sued by a band of folks who simply refuse to follow the law. At the request of taxpayers and residents, the Town adopted rules regarding lawn signs. It is actually very simple. If you want a sign, you get a permit, pay a fee and away you go.

If you break the law, you get a ticket. Simple right?

    Not for some.

Some decide the law does not apply to them and sued the Town.

The defense of this lawsuit will cost the taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars. That is right. The taxpayers pay. You are defending it. You are being sued. You are paying the bill.

Do not let anyone lie to you or tell you anything different. It is about the Town Clerk signs. Plain and simple. Now it is costing you money. Real money.

The suit is public record. The plaintiffs are listed. 12 disgruntled folks with lots of time on their hands. They are asking for damages that you will pay. They claim they have been harmed.

A former temporary Supervisor has gone so far as to sue you because he "thinks" he might be ticketed. He wasn't. He just thinks it could happen, so he sued you too!! Seriously. You can't make this stuff up!!

They are reaching right into your pocket.

They are going to tell you it is a constitutional issue. They hired a lawyer. They think they are going to the Supreme Court. Hilarious. It is pretty sad to think they are going to cost the taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars to save ten bucks.

You have two choices. Bend over and pay up, or STAND UP!! Stand up and let the band of 12 know where they stand! Nowhere here in the Town of Boston.

What about freedom of speech?...and does a property owner have any rights on his or her property on which property taxes are paid for the luxury of owning the property?...are these temporary or permanent signs?....and just how many signs of various subjects without enforcement existed? prior to all
this hoopla because the subject matter rubbed a few the wrong way? ...and the political signs..sometimes 30 or 40 put out by local candidates running for office...do they get permits....all of this seems selctive and hypocritical
I dont live in Boston...but idiotic law could spread to another community and further erode the right of free speech! You should take this entire matter up with the local elected officials who seem to need to muzzle a few with different opinins!

What kind of signs? Billboard sized or the normal political or real estate sized? You shouldn't need a permit to put a reasonably sized sign on your own property
Vote for freedom, not political parties.
    Politicians need to cut spending
