Why is there a storage building full of play ground equipment?

Ok I had to go look to see how the park looked.

    It needs help.

Check this out. There is a building with no doors at all loaded from end to end with brand new playground equipment. Looks like it's been sitting there for years.

How can the service company we hired "AFSCME Union Inc" tell us we can't put our own playground equipment up while there is all THIS STUFF just sitting in piles?

Can someone get me the salary the head of the AFSCME Service Union Inc makes?

Some of our funds already being taken from us should go to getting more park workers. The park is an asset we shouldn't let fall apart.

    A tobaggon ramp.

A few people said these weren't being used this year.

One looked like it needed some care but the other looked fine..

You strap your ass on a sled up top here in that shack at the top.

And then slide down all the way to there

    This one needs some reframing.

The metal framing seemed ok but remember I'm no engineer.

The ramps felt solid and didn't look all that bad on the one that wasn't blocked.

The under belly didn't see too bad either. But then again I wasn't up inside jumping up and down testing it out

The stairs looked like they could use a good sandblasting and paint job.

You can see this ramp needs some cosmetic work which volunteers could easily do. This isn't like they would be building a new Peace Bridge.

These really need a good scraping, wood replacement and paint job

There were a few dangely parts but they look like they have been hanging like they were for a long time.

The inside of the ramps looked pretty good.

They use steel bars to keep the tax payers out.

So what reason did the county give that this ramp wasn't in use?

The same reason they can't mow the lawns at the city parks.
    It needs new paint?

The playground equipment is wating to be installed in some ones back yard. It's just being stored there?

I dont know.. there was no one really at the park. There were some County Security Guys driving around though.

It looked all brand new and there was A lot of it. Slides, bar type stuff... just stuff... JUST DUMPED. Very unorganized. I saw no instruction manuals and stuff really hap hazardly just dumped. You would think with the tight ship the Giambra administration ran it would have been piled up in an organized fashion.

    Gotta love this responce:

Jim Hornung, Erie County Parks Commissioner, "We're going to put a crew of four to five of our park staff together that know how this all works, and they will piece all of this back together."

    People. Where have you been?

This is the same doo-doo just a new day.

Don't you remember the fiasco when they closed the parks and then some one, county workers maybe, destroyed the restrooms inside the park?

How they destroyed picnic tables by using themas barriers to entering the park.
How they said "no" to volunteers running the winter carnival.

When will WNYers' realize the county is still run by a union that is corrupt along with the incestuous management teams.

EC has been in trouble and remains in trouble until we clean house and start new.

I say fire the lot and break the union.
There are plenty of people in WNY willing to do the maintenance jobs these slobs are not doing.

Time to get out the camera and start photo graphing the these guys at work.

Skilled enough to install equiptment,i don't think the instructions have enough pictures to follow!!!
BREAK the union!!!let's get some stuff done here, right now they should be chipping the downed branches and putting the chips in the playground area as a ground covering that's using nature resources and the union!!!!!!

It's the same attitude as the Buffalo policeman who said on this board "I'm not giving 100% on my job." Who is to say if he gets all the money he claims he is owed he will then give 100% on the job.

The taxpayer should always get 100% from all public employees at work, all the time. If not then they should look for work elsewhere or if the employee is breaking any works rules they should be fired.
