WNY home values slip behind inflation

Housing values in several Western New York communities are losing their battle with inflation, according to a report issued Tuesday morning by the U.S. Census Bureau.

Typical homes in Buffalo, Cheektowaga and Niagara County are worth less money now than in 2000, based on figures from the bureau's American Community Survey.

The rates are so high it's what's keeping the home values down.
