    Patronage in Lancaster

I would like this thread to be a continuation of updated information regarding Patronage in Lancaster.

I'll begin and anyone else can add to the list of Patronage in Lancaster. Keep it clean and factual please. My disclaimer on this new post is only for informative purposes only, nothing negative or intentional.

Dawn who is our new Town Council women's fiancée is Trustee Schroeder for the Village of Lancaster. Being that he oversees the Coordinating Events as the Chair, Dawn is the Event Coordinator for the Village and the Town of Lancaster has financial involvement. Shawn Marshall oversaw the Trinity Food Pantry's event race and as the spokes person of that 5K race, is Dawn's nephew, now he is the new Village Code Enforcement Officer.

How is that a cheap shot. Facts are facts. Patronage is alive and well in Lancaster. The only losers are the residents. I wonder how many more qualified people were turned down for these positions because the lack a birthright??

Thats not a cheap shot - its fact.

This is how it goes in Lancaster - Town Hall - Parks Recreation - Highway Department - Senior Center and Youth Programs. There is not tax funded area of employment in Lancaster untouched by "Political Family Employment" - not the Boys and Girls Club and even the schools.

These Party PLayers and Friends and Family games are their Legacy - they view this as "Entitlement". Every time they win a election - another round of job inventions and job swapping starts. Like we have seen already - 18 days into the New Year and they are bouncing around like little tax feed bunnies. Its like a game of tax funded musical chairs.

There's no surprise in this - they been calling elections a "Winner take all Game" for over twenty years.

Just think of it like this - the more "Family and Friends" they employ - the larger their loyal voter base grows. Protect auntie's Party or be unemployed - they use that threat every election cycle. Its seems to work well in Lancaster -
#Dems play musical chairs + patronage and nepotism = entitlement !

Look lets make this easier for everyone !

Someone post the employee list of Lancaster Government tax funded/elected/appointed employees.

When it comes to women - they must include maiden names and married name.

Add in the "Lan Dem Committee"list from 1995 to date. I know it sounds like a big job - but I guarantee you'd see some interesting names. One name that would pop up would be a family on the Dem side that actually has a Republican high ranking official as a husband. Also a vary well known high ranking Dem Law enforcement/real estate developer/investor person who was a business partner with same - they literally shared a office together, for many years.

It would be much easier and take much less time to show who isn't related or "Committee Connected" !

--------------------- Many voters and residents had no true idea of Town Clerk Johanna Coleman's family/political connections until she started using the "Metz" name last year during her campaign.

The election is over, the DEMS won and the spoils and the patronage belongs to them. It would have been no different had Fudoli and the two Republican council candidates had won.

It is time to focus on the present town board makeup and how they vote and govern and decide whether they are acting in the best interest of the community. The DEMS also promised a change in direction and in the first month of the year we see an increase in positions and more spending.

It was interesting to hear who on the new board favored keeping Dudziak as town attorney and who stuck to their guns and supported his removal and replacement – despite county pressure to keep Dudziak.
What to look for now is how the two new board members play the game, whether they practice their promises to act independently and vote in the best interest of the community; whether they will cave and be influenced by DEM Party allegiance and approve hiring unneeded “consultants” as campaign support favors; to hold the fiscal line on union contracts; to approve future code language changes that are in the best interest of the community, etc.

The past is dead. The time has now come to hold this board accountable. It appears incumbent council member Ruffino has become more of an independent player and should he get the support of the two newbies it could be an interesting year.

So your saying that if Fudoli and two republicans won - they would have indulged in the same giving of Party Cookies/binge of hiring the Lan Dems are involved in ?

What have you been smokin - they will join the chorus line and vote like good little Party Players should vote. Yes, you might see one of them(Matt) play the Stempniak game and blow some fluff - vote no when it won't change the outcome one bit. But other than that - they will be good little Players and present whats assigned them and vote "Yes" when it fits the Lan Dem Party agenda.

The past is dead. The time has now come to hold this board accountable. (Who is gonna do that - Coleman ) It appears incumbent council member Ruffino has become more of an independent player and should he get the support of the two newbies it could be an interesting year.
The only code changes we are gonna see is for passage of "Patio Homes" because they can be built on marginal use land. Thats why they don't have basements - the land is wetter and unsuitable for basements. All the good land is under contract or in the "Pipeline" already - who's foolin who ? They just wanna keep building so as to not stop the developer money !

Ruffino is no more "Independent" than Councilmember Aquino was - he's riding the same gravy train he always did - point out where he has rejected patronage or voted "No" to any hiring or anything of consequence ? ! ? If he is to distinguish himself he needs to stand up and stand out. We haven't seen that as of yet. His claim to fame is "Clocks" and promised soccer fields - Or maybe he's just content being a also ran, and why not he too gets a tax funded pension soon !

But we do see how your trying to be optimistic -
#Dems play musical chairs + patronage and nepotism = entitlement !

Isn't the patio home issue an issue the developers are bringing to the table? Aren't they the ones stating that patio homes are in demand? I'm not saying it's right due to the tax relief they receive. I'm just stating, in my opinion, it's the developers driving the patio homes.
