Mighty Taco returns to S. Buffalo roots

Mighty Taco Inc., which was born on Seneca Street in South Buffalo, is opening its first store within a store in a Noco convenience store at the corner of McKinley Parkway and Bailey Avenue.

The Buffalo Planning Board is scheduled to consider the proposal during its Dec. 1 meeting.

For the popular Mighty Taco franchise, this marks the first time it has opened one of its outlets inside an existing convenience store. Mighty Taco’s 16 other locations are all stand alone stores spread across the Buffalo Niagara region.

Mighty Taco was "born" on Hertle Avenue; Seneca Street was the 2nd location.

Does anyone remember the dog food incident? Or am I mistaken, an urban legend?

This is Buffalo and you really can't trust what they print or say. The first Mighty Taco opened at 1247 Hertel Avenue in Buffalo, NY on August 31, 1973.

When I lived off Seneca in the mid to late '80s there was one at Seneca near Caz across from Key Bank.

It was on Hertel. I spent many a night there in the 70's, waiting in line with others in a similar state of mind as me. And if it was dog food, it sure was gooooooood. Not like today, seems corporate ideology has taken over what was "inspired" gastronomic delight.

Taco Bell is better than Mighty Taco.
That stuff Mighty puts in their shells can not be considered meat.

Original Mighty Taco was on Hertel, then moved down the street when its workers had to dress & look more respectable, not like us long haired hippy freak patrons
