    Buffalo Creek Casino Poll Question

New poll. For this poll you are only allowed to vote once so please read the poll question carefully and the answer selection carefully. As a twist I allowed the showing of who voted for each answer selection. No harm is done or no harm meant

    Poll question:

The Senecas are building a new casino in downtown Buffalo on a recently acquired nine acres of land. However, Fulton Street, which is not included in the sale of land to the Senecas, practically, divides the nine acres in half. This divide is something that the Senecas do not want as at interferes with the latest casino plan. Should the city of Buffalo:

The Senecas pay NO taxes and the city will see more police bribes than they ever have, so screw this hole charade. Best luck to all you suckers who will go broke from this.

And all you retirees who will spend you last nickel here, don't forget the free buffet. It'll be your first, when you discover the food bank gives away good grub! You'll need it suckers!

Do not decide anything about Fulton Street until the legality of casino gaming and the land sale is settled in Federal Court.

    Thumbs down

As none of your answers are clear and unbiased, I can't vote . It's not an honest poll.

Wondering why the Senecas would hire my residence.

What the heck is "taxed free property"? We give them property and they pay taxes on it? Were you drinking when you wrote this?

Sorry, I meant to say "no more land that is currently taxed should be sold to the Senecas and become tax free." you are correct on the "taxed" it should be "tax free" I do not have a proof reader and my focus was on trying to make the poll work as best I could - had to change a couple things on the fly....

The questions are straight forward as they pertain exactly to what Byron Brown would like from the Senecas. You need to read the poll question then answer the selection choice provided in the poll. The questions are numbered so some of the middle selections are really in addition to another selection.
You need to work with the poll. The software is limited on how to create the polls........

Why do say this??? Now you are beginning to sound like DTWarren. The deal is done. There is no way that the project can be stopped and I will tell you something else. If by chance the project were to be stopped I would not want to be near an Indian reservation, as you would probably get an arrow flying through your cap. Remember the 219 highways that pass right through the Indian reservation and goes onto Springville?????? What happened when the governor tried to impose taxes on gas and cigarettes…. Ring a bell? The Indians threatened to block the 219 highways. This is an odd situation that was agreed upon and now one side is changing the terms. I do not think you heard the news yesterday about what the Buffalo common council’s thoughts are.

If the City sells Fulton St to the Senecas it would start a new BIA process to take the land in to restricted fee status.

I have also been wondering what utilities run under Fulton St. and will any deal pay to have them re-reouted?

Personally I would not sell Fulton St. until the lawsuits are resolved and in the event it still goes forward the city should seek all the guarantees that it was deprived of by Pataki in the compact.

No, this is certainly not a clear or unbiased poll and I'm not voting. The choices except the last are all: SELL FULTON STREET

No, do nothing about Fulton Street right now. Nothing like choking off egress to downtown.

I still think the Senecas should have been given the Pier Restaurant and 15 adjoining acres on the outer harbor. They could have even run gambling boat excursions from there between Erie, Cleveland and Canada using the old ferry tied up further down the harbor.

There was never any agreement about Fulton St.

Changing terms? What terms? The Senecas refuse to commit to anything... there are no terms.

I remember quite clearly, Pataki turned into a mass of quivering jelly, lost his spine and caved in to the Indians. He completely backed down on the campaign promises that helped get him elected in the first place. He should have mobilized the National Guard.

the city is already chopped into enough pieces don't give them any streets ,they bought this land knowing it was on both sides of the street so let then gamble on one side and park on the other. I will never go to this casino or any other so it wont be me crossing the street. I don't think any foot hold in down town should be given to the Indians, every where else they have gone they have expanded their holdings ten fold buffalo will be no different.

    Angry

That's how I feel, gramps. The Seneca Nation has shown bad intentions, and Niagara Falls is the best example of a no win situation for NF residents. And then the city is using eminent domain to acquire people's homes and property to sell to the Senecas.

I'd love to vote, but this question confuses me. Or, maybe I'm just dumb.
