I am sorry to sound so negative, but we don't know anything about the parents, or I have not heard anything about them. Sometimes really good people do their best to raise their children and well, something just isn't right.

and other times the parents don't spend any time trying to teach the child right from wrong. Sounds like to me this child was suffering some type of mental illness that was never diagnosed or treated - and even when it's treated there is no guarantee - I feel so bad for everyone involved.
