It takes more courage for a person to stand up and admit they were wrong, unfortunately our President does not have that courage!Originally Posted by LHardy

Just about every President of the past 100 years has played the same game, regardless of political affiliation. It is nothing more than a ploy to increase the size and control of the government.
The path is clear
Though no eyes can see
The course laid down long before.
And so with gods and men
The sheep remain inside their pen,

Here's my concern with this
Israel is attacking Lebanese targets (like the airport) along with Hezbollah targets. The Lebanese govt has allowed Hezbollah to terrorize Israel from their country, hence they are guilty of Harboring terrorists and hold some responsibility for all this.
That part I agree with to some degree.
But to what extent is Israel prepared to follow through with this? After continual bombing of Lebanon, and discrediting it's govt... then what? Do they really have a chance of Destroying Hezbollah completely in this way? Probably not, since Hezbollah will only regroup with outside support from Iran/Syria. Punishing the Lebanese govt has some validity... but how will Israel support the rebuilding of Lebanon after all this is over to prevent the process from starting over??
My reasoning is that when the US when into Afghanistan and Iraq for similar reasons, we also planned to STAY there until their govts were on their feet again. Which is why we're still there today training their military and helping them fight terrorists.
I doubt Israel is prepared to do the same for Lebanon.
So the only result I see from this is increased hatred towards Israel... and towards the US for supporting them. And Hezbollah will quickly be refreshed with fresh weapons from Syria.
So how does this campaign solve any problems?

A side note to LHardy and Biker:
If you really want to go and kill people, why don't you become mercenaries and found the Burning Bush Brigade?
That way you could satisfy you passion and tell all the world who your hero is....

I'm with Curm on this one.
Our main objective should be taking drastic measures to wean ourselves off of middleastern oil imports.
Our nation will go completely bakrupt if we keep up trying to play overseas policemen.
The reemergence of Persia as a major regional power is already underway.
Everytime we bomb and destroy more of these arab countries, the extremist elements just get stronger and stronger.

Like how much stronger the PLO got when Jordan and King Hussein kicked its ass out of Jordan.
Or six years later when Israel took over Lebanon all the way above Beirut and kicked the PLO's ass again? Yep, they got real stronger. The only delay was to find some half-assed Arab nation desparate enough to welcome them.
Come on smart guy; what country was that.
The PLO were such powerless pxxies that the Israelis even let them keep their Kalishnikovs. Which they fired off like exultant 8 year olds as they were being transported to barges into exile.
We know how to defeat implacable foes.
Annihilate Germans until the few left abjectly surrender.
Nuke Japs.
That's the way of history.
Annihilate your enemy. Kill him, his father and his sons.
Then you can move forward.

How doos you thinks that the towelheads in Iran gets theys missiles into Lebanon?
Or is this one of the ways that the sainted Hezbollah might get their Jewish pig hostages out of Lebanon.
And you're probably a big enough doofus to think that "the poor helpless Lebanese govt" isn't tacitly hoping Hezbollah kills a lot of the Hebes.
The IDF needs to kill as many Hezbollah and their supporters (women and nine year old suicide bombers) as possible this next week.
Maybe we could loan them some b-52s to carpet bomb southern Lebanon.
The remaining Lebanese could rebuild a freer society.
Doofus-this worked for Japan and Germany.
Although that may be beyond your ability to think logically.
