'Dollar' was just a generalization although the U.S. dollar is still the most sought after currency, right? Ruble, lira, camels, etc... Whatever those cretins deal in.

According to some of my Christian Lebanese friends, that Lira is all but extinct as well. That country is working almost at the barter level for the man and woman in the street. My friend Fadal told me that when he sends money to his sisters in "the old country", a ten-dollar bill is like gold to them. When he visits, pocket change will keep him going for days.Originally Posted by biker
Most people do business in currencies that are more stable, including Euros, dollars and whatever it is that they use in Syria (I forget).

I'm big into phonetics today.
But you can't set me off. Because I was able to eat at "Joe's Real BBQ" of Gilbert, AZ this week. Still the best all-round BBQ joint I've ever been in. Great BBQ and sides. A John Deere tractor in the dining room. "Don't Fence Me In" playing. A giant wall painting of farming in AZ.
If you ever make it out that way, "Joe's" is worth a visit. On Gilbert Road (easy to find of the 60 outside of Phoenix.

Khofi Annan appoints Syria to disarm Hezbollah.
No, you haven't entered the Twilight Zone.
The Khof-meister also appointed Syria to contain Saddam during the Oil for Food program.
We now return you to your regular programming.

I too could not believe reading that about Syria. That's like letting John Mark Karr babysit your children.
