Guys running for cheektowaga town board

    Who are

    John Kaczorowski

    Joe Karnath

    Roger Heymanowski

I got a yellow hand card today. I see roger is a life long resident of Cheektowaga. That really doesn't tell me much though.

They will push to go from 7 to 5 board members.. i'm fine with that..

Stop lifetime health insurance for board members and their spouses.

They say it will save millions per year. I think that's stretching it. Will they also stop the benefits that have already been handed out for previous board members? Should have had that in the first place...

res, mikenold posted some infoe on these guys. i too would like to know some more about them too. i plan on going to a few meetings where they will be.
big issues for me are free health care for PT board members and when they die their spouses still receives the free health care. pensions for part time board members. the end to the "Family&Friends Network" that has Plagued this town for 30 years.excessive overtime for Certain Individuals- friends. the end of bait and shoot program that has excessive overtime. padding the overtime in the last year before a person retires a (certain dept.) cut the nextel and blackberry phone net. (abused) by 20 percent cut dept. budgets by 10 percent, just some of this stuff would cut your taxes, and thats not even the tip of the iceberg.

No, they just but the seniors hot dogs and tell them anything they want to hear a week before the election.

The article points to the differences between the incumbent Democrats and the upstart Republicans. Health care for life even for part time (a couple meetings a moth for four years plus a 20,000 dollar salary) elected council seats costs this town a ton of money. I found it interesting that the reporter was told to file a freedom of information act request to get the information about costs to the town. Of course this way the information couldn't be gathered until AFTER the election.
