Buffalo, NY (WBEN) - It's not your father's VA anymore.
Recent numbers from the Joint Comission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations(JCAHO) , show the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Buffalo outpaces most other area hospitals in heart attack, heart failure and pneumonia care.
The numbers are profiled in Business Week, hitting newstands July 17th.
According to the JCAHO, the VA is equal or above other hospital's nationwide in the area of hear attack, heart failure and pneumonia care. By contrast, Kaleida performed below the same national standard in Heart attack and Pneumonia care rankings, Sisters and Mercy Hospitals
performed below that benchmark in heart failure and pneumonia cases.
What do veterans' think of care there? Hear from them, in a report from WBEN's Tom Puckett, by clicking on the audio link.
