Huntley Station to double capacity, add jobs

The proposed $1.5 billion upgrade of the Huntley Station would more than double the current capacity of the Town of Tonawanda power plant and could increase its work force by up to 100 jobs, while creating upwards of 1,000 construction jobs, NRG Energy officials said Thursday.

Hmmmm, will we still save money after paying for the Emprie Zone credits, federal tax credits and other state incentives??
    The path is clear
    Though no eyes can see
The course laid down long before.
And so with gods and men
The sheep remain inside their pen,
Though many times they've seen the way to leave.

Why are we expanding this plant?

If population and jobs are leaving the area, it doesn't sound like we need more power.

Isn't this a coal fired plant?

So it sounds like we are expanding a coal-fired plant to supply export power?
Truth springs from argument among friends.
