Why Towns need to Work Together

An important element of Gerald Burgin and Georgette Pelletterie's platform is to get towns to work together. The object is to petition county and state governments and their agencies to improve infrastructure under their control.

Why is this important?

Read the recent headlines. The State is contemplating cutting money set aside for such improvements. Western New York will be hurt the most by these cuts.

Look at the Cemetery Road bridge. In April, 2007, during a meeting held by Legislator Konst, the County Department of Public Works told Lancaster residents a new bridge is scheduled to be completed by fall of 2009. It's now fall of 2009 and work hasn't even begun yet!

The bridge was built in 1936, is deteriorating, and being held up by a temporary fix completed in 2007.

The point is, we were told the bridge would be replaced by fall of 2009. Fall of 2009 arrived and work on the bridge hasn't even started.

The current town board is silent on the issue. They have done nothing to petition the County and State to deliver on promises made.

This problem isn't limited to Lancaster. It's the same throughout towns in our area. Our candidates believe more could get done if the towns worked together to petition County and State agencies to improve infrastructure under their control.

maybe I shouldn't. What concerns me is that buses with children on it, use this bridge.

I have been impressed with Georgette, Gerald and Scott with their ideas, passion in regards to change, and sincerity. I am encouraging every person I run into in Lancaster to go out and vote this November, and vote for the need to have transparency in governing this town, the need to be heard, the need to get it done, and the need to receive respect from our town officials.

View what we have had so far: the public does not receive the truth from our town board, the public does not receive transparency, the town rezones at a drop of a hat, and actually there is so much that the town does not do ~~it would take too long to state.

My point is that we need change!!!!!Vote for
