    o[QUOTE=LHardy]Your opinion is totally wrong.
From what I have read, none of you where ever dirt poor......[QUOTE]

    Yes, you're wrong, Hardy

Total, poor people from the south, by the thousands, had been given rail fare to Erie county especially in the latter half of the 20th century, because the system here was so lenient. When Nelson Rockefeller, a liberal, realized he made a big mistake, he tried to correct it but was roundly defeated. This was one of the factors leading to the failure of NYS as a functioning success.

This does not say I favor exporting our poor. Better use of the funds set aside for the poor, integration of the poor throughout the state and country so the load is lighter for all, better use of the inherent and diverse skills which all people are born with. Sounds like a dream but these things are working for racial integration.

I think it wouldn't work Res, cause a lot of people have adapted to the welfare lifestyle.

If it doesn't bother you not to own a house, a car, and live in crummy neighborhoods, you can't get by. All your time is your own. You get fed, clothed, have TV and the utilities are paid.

Come to think of it, prison must not be too much of a deterrent, 'cause it has a lot of the same features as their "normal" life. (Serious point; just occurred to me.)

    Nope; I'm still not wrong.
Unless of course you have been dirt poor speaker?

Follow the thread and you will find that your response has absolutely nothing to do with my question.

Go figure a liberal makes a mistake and can not correct it, in NYS of all places?

And you still want the poor to stay in NYS without any means of support other then spreading them around all of NY. So that all hard working, successful people can be robbed of their earned money. Taken to support those who choose not to get off their arses and go find work elsewhere.
At what point will you, realize the error of your idea and not be able to call it back?

How have these sob sisters---complaining about the inability of our poor, unskilled neighbors to move anywhere---missed the fact that millions of poor, uneducated, non-English speaking illegal immigrants have somehow transported themselves to where the jobs are in our country?

Forget about using welfare money to incent these people to move.

Why haven't the Black churches of America reached out in Underground Railroad fashion to help their brothers and sisters escape the multi-generational bondage they are suffering under in the cities of America?

    (Absolutely no sarcasm intended here.)

How do you know what any of us have been through, Hardy? I can tell you, yes, some have been through that and more.

And do you think NYS has always been resoundingly democrat? And at least a liberal WILL admit his mistake and try and fix it.

If you would have followed the thought process of what I had said you would know I was refering to those who posted to this thread.

You are the one who posted how a liberal F'd Up and could not correct his error.

I thought speaker meant to set aside money for job training etc., which should help them obtain the means to support themselves with decent paying jobs.

I did follow your thought process, Hardy. And yes. I did say a lib F'd up, and I don't feel terrible shame about saying it, I don't lie about it, and I don't feel my back was to the wall and I did not respond by snarling and biting and pretending it never happened.

I don't think so and that's not right.

Don't deflect from my point, though.

We've got people posting here that our poor folks can't possibly get to where the jobs are.

    They can't because they're:
    poor
    undeducated
    unskilled

I'm pointing out that an estimated 12 million are here, working, who have the additional drawbacks of:
    don't speak English
Have to walk across a desert in order to get to those jobs.

You either dismantle the current system so that people relearn values like pride, self-respect and self-reliance or you keep going with the current socialist state. There is no middle ground because the middle ground always grows until it sucks the life out of everyone. The poor, by trapping them in a cruel system and the average taxpayer by sucking the fruits of their labor out of their pockets.
    The path is clear
    Though no eyes can see
The course laid down long before.
And so with gods and men
The sheep remain inside their pen,
Though many times they've seen the way to leave.

    And your point?

A lot of states stuck a lot of "assistance" cases here in NYS didn't they?

And we are acutally not sticking anyone with anything. THEY are people and why would you assume they are unskilled? They have all gone through NYS public schools at a minimum haven't they? I mean look at the amount that is spent per pupil.

We are sending an influx of people with our hard earn cash in hand. They have money to spend to get themselves on solid footing.
