    Question A history question.

Anyone have a clue why the state calls it Tillman park? I ventured out of bounds and wasn't enjoying the smell. Google was ironic but I see the name is common. thanks

Doesn't the Tillman Rd nature preserve extend from Shisler rd to Tillman Rd?

If you look at the map from dec facing north everything west of old Shisler and south of the park treeline is not designated as Tillman. Little confusing because if you take the path from the original road there are no markings so I'm guessing it's not included in the park. Walking back there is a bit eerie cause you can see on the ground there are some very large coyotes around.

When I was a kid, no preserve was there. We all use to swim in the Shisler quarry which was east of Old Shisler

The Erie County mapping program shows the property spans from Shisler to the Lancaster/Clarence town line.

This is what I was looking at http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/83206.html Maybe the dates are different? Don't know if you've been there since it was made a park but as you get closer to the interstate you start to see gas venting pipes.

The interstate is beyond the property line. Gunnville Energy systems owns the property just south of Tillman park

Landfill gas recovery. The total facility consists of 191 gas wells collecting up to 2,816scf/min of LFG, with an installed generating capacity of the facility to 6.5 MW

Hey thanks. It never occurred to me that power was being generated in that way, just assumed the pipes were just for safety reasons.
