I think they have the talent to get there, just as they did last year, The big question is will they decide to actually play all year this year. I'm thinking yes.

They did not bring any big scorers in here with free agents.Thats all they got are 3rd and 4th liners came in.Just like the Bills take the cheap rout.

To be honest, the sabres have had the right mentality the last few years. They believe in 3 or 4 STRONG lines that can score, they don't follow the premise you see in TOR, PIT, PHILLY or other teams where they stack one or two lines who score a lot.

Look at the year they made it to the eastern finals, they have 10 people score 20 goals! They didn't rely on one person, they played as a team!

They have added the size and toughness that they have lacked the last few seasons. They should be able to get in, and if they do, a physical team can go far.

Well looks bad for these so called hockey players. The D is very slow,no scoreing (same as last year did not improve on that) Depending on these young guys, that Tyler dude looks like a long drink of water on the ice. This team needs to spend money,if they don't get help quick NO PLAYOFFS again.

I went to the game last night and I thought the veterans palyed okay, could have been much better. The two rooks Myers and kennedy looked very good for their first real game. Honestly, Tyler has a HUGE future in front of him. He made some great plays last night, he seemed to be everywhere he needed to be!

I'll be honest it was great to see Greer back, the fans went nuts when they announced his name!

The team had great chances but it looked like their communication and team play was out of wack. I deffinatly see the skill there to do well, but they need a little more communication and pracitce as lines together.

Both of Montreals goals were lucky ones, the first one was questionable, the montreal player was in the net with Miller when the puck went it (which miller knocked in on accident) and the second was a lucky bounce of the wall after rivet deflected it.

Not a bad game though, keep in mind the Habs picked up a lot of GOOD players in the off season, but i guess you can when you charge $150 for a 300 level seat!

Myers and Kennedy will be a big plus for them, I thought it was a good game.

The Sabres limited Montreal to 16 shots for the game.
I think that speaks pretty well for the D. Price was a wall. He's an all-world goalie, though, so that's not a surprise.

Montreal played a strong defense the entire game. But the way the Sabres controlled the game in the 1st period, they probably HAD to.
Their 1st goal was BS. How do you allow a score when the goalie got run, the scorer was in the net and the net was off the magnets?

Kennedy needs to work out. Seems like every time he had the puck, it got taken from him from behind.

I wasn't totally disappointed. I mean, a win would have been nice, but we have 81 more games. I think they make the playoffs this year.
Let me articulate this for you:
"I'm not locked in here with them. They're locked in here with me!!"

I have seen Tim K. around reminds me of Pat Kane need some size both very fast. Price is going to be tuff and keep the habs on top if he stays healthy.
