That's cool, maybe they will start building more hotels?
The peak summer season got off to early summer season for hotels in Niagara Falls.
According to monthly statistics compiled by Smith Travel Research of Nashville, hotel occupancy in the Cataract City shot up 20.4 percent in April -- one of the largest gains in the country.

If you build it, they will come?Originally Posted by Dr Funky
I'm not sure the city needs more hotels, but rather, more things to do outside the casino. Also, does the casino have a lot of shows? What I'm thinking is that the casino should be drawing more than just gamblers. Like, if Tony Bennett was playing a show there. I'd be thinking, dinner and a concert. But I don't want to go to Fortuna's or the Como. I want to be able to park my truck downtown, walk to a reasonably nice restaurant or pub, and then cross the street (or walk a few blocks) and go see the show. Then maybe stop somewhere for a nightcap, then back to the truck for the drive home. Kind of like one stop shopping.
And people in town for a convention or on vacation want those same things. When people go to Vegas, they don't just stay in their hotel all day. Well, okay, some of them do. But the majority of them go out and walk around, and see the sights, and eat and drink. There has to be something for people to DO. And, we've got a huge head start on most places because we've got Niagara Freakin' Falls!
LOL, It would be GREAT if we became the next Vegas, we need to send all of our politicians out there on a plane and have the Vegas politicians teach them something.Originally Posted by Longtimegone
