Have to keep it out of the city! Best spot is OP lots of parking and roads are a lot better to handle the people.
Of the four sites in the consultant’s report, a new stadium in Orchard Park would cause the least amount of land-use change. That’s because the report places the stadium just north of the Bills’ current home, on land Erie County already controls. The 181-acre site also includes parking lots that serve the stadium on both sides of Abbott Road.

Die-Hards if in the city this would be out..A move downtown could undermine Bills fans’ tradition of tailgating. Im sure something the city would end. Could you see this 70,000 people scattered around downtown parking lots drinking. Where do they all pee? the city Road access, for example, proved to be a central concern regarding a stadium n the city the, an idea that’s been pushed by Amherst businessman George F. Hasiotis. New bridges and roads to link that potential stadium site to the rest of downtown would cost between $800 million and $1 billion, the consultants said.. ouch!! taxpayers would have to pay that bill.

Then there is keeping taxpayer stadium and sinking more money into it... how much more is needed?Despite $130 million in renovations completed this year, “The Ralph” needs more than a half-billion dollars of additional work just to bring it in line with the more extensive renovations done at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis., and Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo,. the consultants said.

The Ralph still needs upgrades to its premium seating areas, additional restroom and concourse improvements and a better concessions system, and the entire stadium must be made compliant with the Americans With Disabilities Act.

And then there’s “the additional complexity of rebuilding the upper deck structures to accommodate the required premium suites and modern media facilities,” the consultants said.

Two things for sure money bags foots the whole bill on a new complex and get rid of the name Ralph.

In 2005, there was a weekend stop in Buffalo for people trekking to Milwaukee for the Harley Davidson Anniversary. It was said over 125,000 bikes showed up. So maybe, in true Buffalo fashion, the city would close off a section of downtown for a city sponsored tailgate, a la Thursday At The Square, or the live concerts they did for that Harley Rendezvous, or the space used at the Out harbor for love concerts now. What else is really going on downtown on a Sunday anyway?

It hits on a facets; brings people downtown, generates revenue, creates a new cultural event for the city. Also, I don't know if they ever did this, but opening up Metro Rail on Sundays wouldn't hurt.

    The downside, November/December/January weather.
Let me articulate this for you:
"I'm not locked in here with them. They're locked in here with me!!"

HK, can you see the city cops controlling 77,000 fans, tailgaters, drunks, drunk Canadians etc. plus shootings and crime on the east side and all the other stuff going on in the city that day... never happen. tailgating would probably be done. look how they are controlling it now in OP from years ago when you could show up early on a sunday morning and have fun..

1 - The stadium is going to be around 64,000.
2 - The tickets are going to be more expensive.
3 - There is going to be significantly less open parking spots near the stadium for tailgating

1, 2 & 3 are going to cut down almost all of your concerns.

You realize that when you see a police officer working an event in uniform they are not always being paid by the City/Town right?

It is time to think big and novel - a revolving stadium so that everyone sits on the 50-yard line for a few plays each came. Then it wouldn't matter where it was located as it would be the 8th wonder of the world.

A retractable dome that doesn't cover itself so that the solar panels are usable in the best weather would be needed. Combine that with revolving stadium seating and you have something worth building.

Now, if the revolving stadium seating is too expensive, they could just impose a rule that after every play, everyone has to get up and move one section to their left.

And they could also require that everyone bring a handheld solar charger, then plug them in at the end of each quarter to upload the charge top the stadium.

Gotta think way outside the box to save some real money on this project.

New Bills stadium report will offer guidance

BUFFALO – A report from a California-based consulting firm has identified three locations in the city of Buffalo as prime spots for a new Buffalo Bills stadium, estimated to cost more than a half-billion dollars depending on the specific location.AECOM, the firm hired by the state of New York to analyze possibilities for construction of a new facility, whittled down a list of more than a dozen locations to a "shortlist" of the following sites: the Cobblestone District, Exchange Street and South Park. In addition to these three locations, the firm's report also analyzes the feasibility of renovations to Ralph Wilson Stadium-- or an entirely new stadium in Orchard Park.

Town of Orchard Park wants Bills to stay

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WKBW) - The Buffalo Bills have played in Orchard Park since the early 1970s. Now with new ownership comes the possibility the Bills could move out of the small town, to the City of Buffalo.

But the town is not willing to let the team go without a fight.

Will Orchard Park cover all the cost seeing they would like the stadium to stay?

I see that you don't think efficiently.

Don't rotate the stadium just move the seats. A stadium is basically oval shaped. Put all the seating on oval tracks. The seats will slowly move to the left or the right eventually returning to the start point. We use the solar panels to power the electric motors that move the seats along. Or, we finally start up the "Tony's peddle your way to health". Stationary bikes connected to small generators. You get a free Bills ticket if you can peddle for the entire length of the game. Who is good with math? If a seat was on the 50 yard line like 1/2 way up in seats how fast would the seat have to move to the left/right to return to the starting point before the average game is over?

If the OP Town Supervisor wants a seat at the table...admission is several hundred million dollars if not more.

Can anyone point out to me where the town of OP said they wanted to contribute funds from the town to the most recent renovation? Can't seem to find examples of where Orchard Park has forked over money to have the stadium. I have found where they gladly accepted County and State funds....

But in all seriousness...Buffalo has a better chance of having a World Series and NBA champion than a new stadium being built out in Orchard Park.

I think staying in OP makes the most sense. More than enough room and they already have a practice facility (which i assume they would continue to use even if the stadium was built downtown.)

WNY is already acclimated to dealing with the home game experience in OP.

So I think the burden of persuasion is on those who want to move the stadium. "It would be nice to have a stadium in downtown" isn't enough by itself to undertake the cost and associated disruption of moving the location.

Keep the stadium exactly where it is, we already spent over a million of taxpayer dollars to update the stadium. I don't want to pay anymore tax dollars to build a stadium that costs that much!!!!!

I believe if this is a serious discussion, then they need to put this decision to the taxpayers since we would foot the bill-- in a referendum.
