2007: The Year of Cranes and Shovels?

While I was looking through Snooze archives, I came across an article about how 2007 was going a momentous year for development. The article was only from 12/04/05, but already it seems like a few of the projects have fallen off the wagon. We all know of the uncertainty of the casino and Bass Pro, but if anyone can give an update on the progress of any of the projects on the list, it would help us see what kind of progress we're making.

Year of cranes and shovels

1. The Erie Canal Harbor project. To be completed in late 2007.

2. The Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. Allen Street extension opens in 2007.

3. The Peace Bridge expansion. Construction may start in 2007.

4. Bass Pro. Scheduled to open in 2007.

5. Seneca Buffalo Casino. Scheduled to open in 2007.

6. Outer Harbor project. Construction under way in 2007.

7. The Southtowns Connector. Project begins in 2007.

8. Federal Courthouse. Construction could start in 2007.

9. HealthNow headquarters. Occupancy date: August 2007.

10. Darwin Martin House. Visitor Center construction under way in 2007.

11. Tropical Rain Forest exhibit. Buffalo Zoo. Scheduled to open in 2007.

12. Niagara River Greenway. Should begin in 2007.

13. Waterfront Village development. Erie Basin Marina. Under construction in 2007.

14. ECC City Campus expansion. May be under way in 2007.

15. Michigan Avenue African-American cultural and historic park. May be under way in 2007.

16. H.H. Richardson's Buffalo State Hospital complex. May get under way in 2007.

Check the "Public Inspection" documents at the Central branch of the public library. Some of the aforementioned topics may have had reports about them deposited at the library. However, just keep in mind that sometimes public inspection documents are taken away after a certain period of time.
