    Lightbulb Aug. 5 at the Lancaster airport all welcome.

    Rep. Chris Lee, R-Clarence, is hosting a meeting between the Federal Aviation Administration and residents of Lancaster to discuss potential safety and noise pollution concerns around Buffalo-Lancaster Airport.

    The event will be held at 6:30 p. m. Aug. 5 at 4343 WALDEN AVE
    LANCASTER, NY 14086
    Phone 585-591-0366

    Located just past the intersection of Pavement Rd. - east of Pavement Rd. Right hand side(if your traveling east) on Walden Ave.

    “I thought it was important for Lancaster residents to have their concerns addressed directly by the federal officials charged with protecting those living near our airports,” Lee said in a statement.

    “Of course, all Western New Yorkers are more sensitive to aviation safety issues in light of the Flight 3407 tragedy, which is why I hope this meeting will help determine what action items may be necessary to keep everyone safe.”
    ===============================================

    The airport is located near two Town Parks - and increased plain traffic will not be supervised by Buffalo Airport Air Traffic Control. If nothing changes - it will be funded with over $12Million of your Federal tax dollars - they have already been relieved of paying most taxes through generous actions of Lancaster NY Government. Should your tax dollars be used to profit a handful of people who own a "Private Enterprise" - Speak Up or write the check.

    Congressman Lee will not be at the airport meeting Wednesday evening. Town Councilman Abraham said that he has to attend another meeting and will not be there. His entire staff will be present. So much for Lee's sincere words and concern. He is the one who set the meeting date.

    The Safe Aviation Coalition (SAC) and their supporters will be there as promised; not their staff.

    When asked by the FAA whether town officials wanted an opportunity to make comments, Councilman Abraham said he told the FAA no as the town had no standing in the matter.

    SAC thinks differently about town involvement. In fact at Monday evening;s board meeting, a SAC member asked whether the town board approved IDA's. It was answered yes. The town approved three IDA's for the private airport. That is but one example of the town's involvement in the airport matter.

    Town Board never planned on standing by residents on airport issue as well as other issues as was very evident at last evenings meeting. Now I remember why I stopped attending meetings years ago. On the other hand, I now know we must attend all future meetings and stay involved. I hope voters wake up in November.
