    $2.92 in Rock Hill SC

Just came in from Charlotte SC seeing some old friends that are transplants from WNY(damn there a lot of them) watched the fumbling bumbling bills at a buffalo backed sports bar. Gas $2.92 a gal.. That end of the pipe line crap for this area is BS.. Charlotte is at the end of the pipe line too.
Mingling around with the transplants over the last four days none would come back to this area because of jobs, high taxes, gas, food, and now that families are growing they are staying in this area.

Cheekman, the notion that people are dying to move back here and that people are flocking back to the region is nothing but a myth pushed by the Buffalo News. The population loss continues unabated as the census updates clearly show. While the numbers leaving have certainly fallen there's a simple explanation. THERE ARE FEWER PEOPLE LEFT TO LEAVE.

no one I talked to would come back here. the state, towns, and county over the years have make it so bad to live in this area with their taxes and regulations on small business in this area these people left and are not coming back and more are still leaving this state. but these idiot politicians think painting a silo blue and spending millions of taxpayer money on a water front will bring people back.. as for the snooze its a one paper town they print what they want. people leave this area every day because of the government and how they taxed business and people to death.

G, I went shooting in Niagara County on Friday went right down the falls blvd. what a bunch of crooks you still had some stations at $3.61 and the lowest I seen was $3.49 you had $3.59 $3.57 etc. So the barrel of oil is down five bucks the other day to the lowest since two years ago and gas around here drops a penny... Price fixing sure is where is aqua man Higgins ? looking for more tax money for the harbor.

a state that borders us never see that here.

Local gas prices falling, but not as fast as elsewhere Ask your politician why? Are they being paid off by the gas stations owers group to keep prices higher?
You are paying the highest property taxes in the country, highest school taxes in the state, the highest gasoline prices and ever so slow for the prices to come down, and the this area is the fourth poorest area in the nation. Then politicians want people to move into this area. BS

“Buffalo’s really high compared to other parts of the country,” said Pamela Righter, a Buffalo resident, who drives an Audi Allroad. She is struck by the lower prices she sees when traveling to Ohio ($2.93 average) or Pennsylvania ($3.17). “I don’t know – what is it about Buffalo?” screwing the people in this area again..

There are different theories, but not a single, agreed-upon explanation.

Some observers say the Buffalo region’s mix of competitors is an influence. that's it no competition in the area... I remember when there was about 15 years ago delta sonic was the cheapest by ten cents a gallon then other stations. Then all of a sudden the named stations drove oil companies drove out the little guy from the area. So now all these local stations sleep with each other to keep the prices high.. End of the pipe line is BS that is what the politicians had to say.

Patrick DeHaan, a senior petroleum analyst with Gasbuddy.com, said prices fall more slowly in some parts of the country, not just here. “In Buffalo, the status quo may be that (retailers) may be less competitive” with each other, he said. hummm no pipe line issue..

In other words, DeHaan said, there may not be a retailer aiming to sharply undercut its competitors’ prices in this market and force others to follow suit more quickly. Higher than NYC....New York State is the most expensive of the lower 48 states to buy gas at the pump, according to AAA data. State taxes on gasoline and the cost of regulations are often blamed for New York’s high ranking. Among the eight metro areas in New York, the Buffalo-area average gas price was the highest, ahead of even New York City.

Citgo station on Walden and Transit $3.38 first station I seen under $3.40 a gal..
Agreed, this area needs more independent stations like they had years ago then you will see the prices go down faster. To bad the Indians couldn't set up shop around the burbs then these gas station owners would be crying.

Or why not exempt some stations from collecting the tax. Amounts to the same thing & just as unfair.

Right on grump!!! The same stations owners that forced the independent station out of this area years ago are keeping the prices up because of their greed.. Last nights news ch 2 looks like we are the slowest in the nation for falling gas prices. I guess these politicians don't care since no one is looking into it...

The Barrel of oil closed at $77.00 on tue the lowest in a long time. How do you still have $3.50 a gal of gas in some places around here and only have about $3.33 as the cheapest. So Andrew said on election night "you haven't seen nothing yet".. I wonder if he is going to look into who is paying off who to keep the prices high around here. Higgins don't care...

OMG look at this and which donkey will lead the charge to see who is ripping the public off, and what took them so long. Damn!!! of course they are all in this together to keep prices high this should have been looked at 6 weeks ago.. when prices across the country started falling at a fast pace. their are laws aganist price fixing and that is what is going on in this area.. end of the pipe line is just a cover to keep prices high.. also lower some of the tax on gas. Todays average price for the nation is $2.94 a gallon
