OMG bend over and grab your ankles with the gas prices. Even before Harvey prices around here went up about 12 cents in 12 days when all around us gas prices were flat. What was that reason? Talked to a owner of one of the stations he said he will get notice to raise the prices on the gas every morning they never give a reason.

Now lets see how fast the prices will come down after the all the oil refineries come back and are making gas again. This area probably six months.

Havey keeping refineries at bay. Your going to be paying more in the coming weeks for gas because the towel heads of OPEC are getting ready to cut production again. Nothing from trump on any of that.

Hurricane Harvey packed such a powerful punch that more than a dozen Gulf Coast oil refineries are still hurting two weeks after the storm struck Texas.

Five oil refineries remain shuttered as of Monday, according to S&P Global Platts, an energy research firm. Ten more are partially shut down as they attempt to recover from historic flooding.

All told, about 2.4 million barrels of daily refining capacity in Texas is offline because of Harvey, Platts estimates. That is about 13% of the country's total ability to turn oil into gasoline, jet fuel and other products.

It's pretty massive," said Jake Eubank, manager of refining and processing at the research firm Genscape. Harvey dealt a serious blow to America's energy infrastructure, knocking oil rigs offline, disrupting shale oil drilling inland and closing key ports. But the biggest hit was to refiners. At one point, about 4 million barrels of refining capacity was shut down. Gasoline prices spiked around the United States.

Look who is going to have the fed look into gas prices. Mr. liberal cry baby Schumer urges feds to watch price gouging on 'big oil' ... “Gas prices should come back down to earth just as fast as they went up. You know the crooks in this area are going to do everything possible not to lower the prices as fast as they went up due to harvey.. I remember when schumk looked into why prices are so high in this area. Ready.. END OF THE PIPE LINE.. What BS is that. Schumer wants to know why the prices are not coming down.
By the laws of economics, what goes up should come down,” Schumer said. not here.
Schumer noted that while the FTC has limited powers to gas price gouging, there is a 2011 precedent where the FTC opened an investigation into whether certain companies engaged in practices "that have lessened or may lessen competition". That investigation also looked at the wholesale price of crude and the goal of the 2011 investigation was to determine if SEction 5 of the FTC commission Act was violated.

Here we go the area gas station crooks hold up on dropping gas prices. the barrel has dropped all most 20 dollars in about three weeks. gas prices have not fell at the pace of the barrel. you have stations still holding gas prices at 3 bucks.

Our analysts recommend motorists hold off on filling their tanks for now thanks to the large, 7% single-day drop in the price of crude oil, which extended the record streak of 12 days that oil has moved lower.

The national average has already shed 24 cents per gallon in the last month alone with some states seeing even bigger monthly declines: Michigan is down 33 cents, while Delaware, Iowa, Indiana and Kentucky are all down 32 cents on average versus a month ago.

Today’s drop in oil prices will extend the decline in gas prices for perhaps several more weeks in nearly all states, at a time of year millions of Americans are preparing to hit the road. Most states could see a decline of 5-15 cents per gallon ahead of Thanksgiving, with more to come.

“Today’s market plunge was astounding and a dramatic turnaround in market psyche in the last month. A 26% drop in the price of oil is absolutely shocking given the environment and concern ahead of the Iran sanctions that the oil market was not supplied with enough oil,” said Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “Motorists need not be in a hurry to fill their tanks. Today’s sell-off will extend and accelerate the declines seen at the pump, just in time for Thanksgiving. The best tip I can suggest is to shop around for the lowest prices as some stations will pass on the savings faster than others.”

Gas is already 16 cents per gallon cheaper in Rochester than it is here. But remember, high talker Higgins and the Democratic Party public relations office known locally as Ch 2 News advised us years ago that we just have to pay more because we’re at the end of the pipeline.

Of all people Cheekman why do you complain?

Those gas station employees want to make $100,000+ a year including a good pension after 30 years, don't forget that overtime and they want to make enough to have $20,000+ a year family coverage.

Why are you commenting on the cost of the gas?

Owners or employees make no difference. Labor is labor. That owner has a family to support and perhaps likes making 100k or 125k etc... plus bene's and perks.

Do you see the point I'm making?

nope not at all. ch 2 just had a big thing on gas in this area. highest in the state why?because the owners have to make 100 grand? end of the pipeline is BS and the politicians won't step on anyone's toes. hace two friends the haul gas all over the state the problem is this area not the owners.

res last night ch 7 asking why gas is so high in this area? they blame the county tax as one. easy fix lower it. one thing they don't mention how these owners don't want to lower the price. irving take a ride and fill up almost sixty cents cheaper than here. stick it to the crooks.

so the third news station reports on the gas prices in this area but this station reports now not only this area but the state in general. so i take a ride down to Irving to smoky joes to fill up today. get this $1.68 a gal. tax on gas is about sixty cents no tax on indian gas. so the price around here should be about $2.28 a gal give or take a few cents. Its about right with the price of a barrel at what it is now. I checked last time the barrel was at this price about two years ago the price at the pump here was 2.28.
So the gas station crooks holding up the prices for no reason other than to rip off the people. Not a word from the politicians in this area or the state why the crooks are holding up the prices. Head down to smokies in irving stop at aunt milles for some pie fill up and stick it to the crooks around here. banana cream is to kill for.

Cheekman, gas is 30 cents/gallon cheaper in central New York. That’s what happens when you’re at the end of the pipeline.
