After dropping to a low of about 1.35 last fall, the price here has hovered at about 2.05+/- a gallon for the last few months. Buffalo has ALWAYS been that way. I STILL remember Katrina and gas shooting up to 4.00 a gallon within hours.
Let me articulate this for you:

People, we all know the answer to why our gas prices are higher that everywhere else. We're at the end of the pipeline. If you don't believe me just ask high talker Higgins.

crooks holding up prices here again.

Gas prices are falling rather quickly in the U.S., with 48 of 50 states seeing prices decline in the last week, according to gas price-tracker. The national average has fallen five cents in the last week to $2.15 per gallon, as prices now stand an average of 2 cents lower than a year ago. but not in wny avg $2.35

"As oil prices have crumbled under the realization that supply continues to outpace demand, gasoline prices have fallen in tandem as we approach the holiday season. I'm sure that's music to the ears of millions of motorists," said Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst at GasBuddy.com. "While all eyes should remain on OPEC's reaction and coming meeting, motorists will likely continue to see the national average falling this week, catching up to the fall in oil prices, which now have taken oil to the lowest level since March."
The only state not seeing a decline was Hawaii, where gas prices rose an average of 0.8 cents per gallon. Leading decliners was Indiana (15 cents), Ohio (12 cents), Michigan (12 cents), Illinois (9 cents) and Kentucky (9 cents). The Midwest region saw the nation's largest declines as gas prices there react quickly to market changes in both directions.
The fall in gas prices comes as oil prices continued to slide last week, as fresh evidence points to rising global oil production, going against OPEC's threat to cut supplies. The International Energy Agency (IEA) said in its monthly report released last week that global oil production rose 230,000 barrels per day in October to 97.43 million barrels a day. OPEC production, meanwhile, stood 1.3 million barrels per day higher versus the level in October, 2015. The agency noted that "stock builds could continue through 2017 if OPEC does not agree to production restraint at its forthcoming meeting in Vienna."

Albany gass $2.01 and at the res in irving senca hawk $1.65 have to take a ride.

Crooks holding prices up in WNY as gas prices fall across the state. Same old thing in this area wnyers getting screwed by the greedy gas station owners.

    Pump prices decrease again
We have another advantage to be grateful for this Thanksgiving weekend: gasoline prices across the region and for the United States as a whole declined last week, according to regular monitoring by the auto club AAA.

What’s more, last week’s decreases(not here) could signal an Emerging Trend (no trend in WNY). It was the second consecutive week in which the auto club recorded falling gas prices in the region. Last week was the sixth straight week in which the U.S. 50-state average moved lower, AAA figures show.

The Massachusetts state-wide average for self-service regular gas lost 2.0 cents during the seven-day span ending Wednesday, reaching $2.166 per gallon on the day before Thanksgiving, compared to $2.186 seven days earlier, the auto club reported. Wednesday’s average was 5.0 cents above the Bay State average of $2.116 recorded on the same day of 2015.
AAA reported a U.S. national average of $2.131 per gallon for self-service regular gasoline on Wednesday, down 1.8 pennies from the prior Wednesday’s $2.149. On the same day of 2015, the coast-to-coast average was $2.072, or 5.9 cents less expensive than Wednesday’s figure

Wait, isn't that the free market at work? If they (gas station owners) have it so good, why not open a gas station?

If the public sector can hold up prices so can the private sector. Fair is fair.

res ever wonder why gas prices are high? how about this crook.
Rex Tillerson cuts ties with Exxon Mobil via $180m retirement package. Exxon boss Rex Tillerson will receive more than $180m from the company as he severs financial ties with the oil industry.

I'm sure $180M will buy a lot of influence with the new administration.
