Wasn't there a quarry on Billo Rd?

On Buffalo Niagara homes website, there are 4 lots for sale on Billo Rd in Alden near Genesee St. The map view of these lots show alot of blue.

Wasn't there a quarry there at one time?

It will interesting to see if the Town of Alden will approve a sub-division there.

It states this in the description of the property-
"LOTS ARE BEING SURVEYED & SALE IS SUBJECT TO TOWN APPROVAL OF SUBDIVISION. "

I think that what they mean, is that it's currently a much larger lot (say it's 20 acres,) and it will be subdivided into 5-acre parcels (4 in that example.)
In order to do that, you must get permission from the local municipality.

Okay, I get it "sub-divide" a parcel as oppose to a sub-division as in everywhere in Lancaster.

    Thanks

What would be an issue for new home owners if there used to be a quarry there?

With all the blue in the maps it makes the properties look water laden.

Like every where else 10-15 years down the road there will be complaints of cracked basements etc.

I'll have to do a drive-by to satisfy my curiosity.

I don't know about a quarry issue, but the Erie County Sheriffs Range, pistol/rifle/shotgun/SWAT, is less then 1/2 mile from Bilo Rd.
If it weren't for the United States Military, there would be NO United States of America !
