Flame-ThrowerŪ HEI Performance Distributors for Pontiacs

This is the ignition we are looking at...

PerTronix announces the availability of their Flame-ThrowerŪ HEI performance distributors for Pontiac V8 applications. Part numbers D1200 (black cap), D1201 (red cap) and D1202 (blue cap) fit all 265, 350, 400 and 455 CID engines.
According to PerTronix, these units use new components (not remanufactured) and feature a specially engineered module and coil combination that operates without misfires up to a minimum of 7500 RPM, nearly 3000 RPM higher than most enthusiasts report with their original HEI.

Looks good, not too much of an expert on aftermarket ignition.

I ran a std HEI with an accel coil. Never had any ignition problems.

I"m listening to friends who are motor heads. I have the original parts but seeing the car had SO MUCH done to it I might as well replace things that may become an issue. I'm saving all the old parts if one day someone wanted to put it all back to original they could. Gonna be a tork monster as they put it.

Flame-ThrowerŪ HEI Performance Distributors for Pontiacs

It came in today! It's almost a complete engine.

Compared to the stock HEI, PerTronix claims their units will produce 67% more energy in the coil with 45% faster spark breakdown time and deliver twice the energy across the spark gap. Each distributor uses a new aluminum housing cast and machined from strong but lightweight A384 alloy. Distributors are supplied with a high dielectric strength cap with solid brass terminals, a balanced rotor and low resistance center coil brush, nylon rotor hold-down screws, adjustable ignition vacuum advance and a factory installed high performance mechanical curve kit with precision stamped weights and center plate.

I have a edelbrock 750 cfm carburator with matching intake manifold for a 350 engine. The carb would fit just about all engines. These two need to be cleaned or rebuilt but i'll let em go real cheap if anyone is interested.

Is this yours? If not, it's an almost eerie resemblance.

IT's time to pick a color for the car. I'm am like stumped...

Does it just go back to the same exact color it was or some new color.

Original color was gold, ...that's seems a bit too pimped up for you.

you need a metallic somewhere between gold and rust
