is that a typo, $12000? YOu don't mean Twelve thousand dollars?

I feel so boring, because, since the inception of this thread, I bought, and paid off, a brand new car. And, the only thing I now have to show for it is a two-year old car that is currently covered with salt.

Yes about $12,000 and they caused more damage to the car. My fault for not baby sitting the car as work was being done. I was in shock when they basically dropped the car off in the parking lot. I was like there is no way this is my car...but it was. I am not counting the $12,000 in the car. There wasn't $12,000 worth of anything done to the car by Sloan Collision which then turned into AJ auto or something like that on Broadway hear Halstead. Chris now drives truck. He was the owner of the business that ruined the car.

Then a chip guard was applied

Then finally painted in the proper factory black

Looking good res. Pretty soon you will be cruising. Long wait, but will be worth it. Question: Are you going to design put any of your decals on it?

I'm not doing it, Areo Restoration is doing it. They do insurance work besides restoration work. I really would recommend them to anyone. They did work on the Toyota that came out like new. There is a whole bunch of people who have helped along the way.

    Remember what they started with.

The guys at napa on Wherle did a very nice job on the engine too.

    I mean check this out.

    Before:

    Pontiac 400 Engine

    After:

    Rebuilt Pontiac 400 Engine

I know the place that is going to do the glass work.. Frontier Auto Glass.

Gotta find someone who is rather good for the interior and top.

I simply can't believe it's all coming shaping up into a car. It's been years.

There were a few pieces that were toast like the rear valance I think you call it. Where the chrome dual exhaust tips go threw.

The got one from a 70 lemans that had to be modified to match the original.

They have some parts that are being recreated but they don't line up like the originals.

I'm glad the price of gas went down some.

The original carburetor was replace with this.

    It was recommended

    Pontiac Speed Demon Carburator

It came boxed with easy to follow instructions.

I think the logo on the front of the carb is cool.

Looks like a lot of gasoline can flush in this.

The group at Napa on Wherle did a cool job.

WNY, I'm good at Qjets if that was the original. I guarantee you'll get 2-3 mpg better with it than the Demon. Rips near as good. Most elegant carb design ever made, imho. But the new one is "shiny". Hope you saved the QJet.

John Salerno over in OP is top notchon tops and interiors and a real stand up guy.

Someday, I'd like to "rotisserie" mine. No time, no money right now.

I let someone who is into cars pick the engine parts. I still have all the original bolt on parts. Carb, distributor, headers etc. But doesn't that demon car look cool

I do have to find someone. We are still going over colors. They are swaying towards a sliver metalic color with black top/interior. It was originally metallic gold. The gold really didn't do anything for me.. not that the silver is doing anything for me either.

Currently they are fitting all the body parts to see how everything is going to line up before painting. For a LONG time I thought the car was a loss cause.

Dude, after $12K you should have your head checked and your wife should take away your ability to write checks. seriiously.

No one, just gives out cash, like that with ZERO progress reports.

When I was having my truck fixed, I was at the shop DAILY

I was getting reports.. All lies for the most part. The company originally did one car for us before hand which came out great. I didn't feel the need to baby sit every time they said more was done.

Seriously I'm way happy with the work Areo is doing. They do insurance work that is top notch too.
