http://tellmenow.com/2014/04/n-y-sch...-gun-dinosaur/Once again, the New York Department of Education is in the word-banning business and is telling schools to ban dozens of words from use in the class room and on tests. And why are they banning the words? Because they might make kids “feel” bad. But, worse, some of the banned words would actually prevent learning!
One of the banned words, for instance is “slavery.” OK, so how do we discuss all of American history before the close of the Civil War if we are not allowed to use the word “slavery” in front of school kids? Just as bad, the words “war” and “religion” are also banned. There goes the rest of human history.
War On Words: NYC Dept. Of Education Wants 50 ‘Forbidden’ Words Banned From Standardized Tests
http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2012/03/...ardized-tests/NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — George Carlin is rolling over in his grave.
The New York City Department of Education is waging a war on words of sorts, and is seeking to have words they deem upsetting removed from standardized tests.
Fearing that certain words and topics can make students feel unpleasant, officials are requesting 50 or so words be removed from city-issued tests.
I think this is starting to go a little too far. What do you think?

It's the NYC Dept of Ed not the NYS Dept of Ed. I don't really care what they do in the big apple.

I say everyone should ignore the thought police! The agenda here is to divide the people. Almost everything that one can say will probably offend someone. It becomes easy to ban certain words and phrases if most people can be made to think that they are racist or offensive. This psychological tactic is commonly used by generals during war in order to divide and conquer.
Misinformation, confusion, even outright lies can be used to get people to accept propaganda hook, line and sinker.
The next step in this agenda is to actually arrest and imprison those that are caught using the "banned" words or phrases. The test cases have already been successful. We just had an NBA team owner banned from the NBA for life over an offensive private conversation that was publicized.
Ban the words war, gun, dinosaur and even Fiesta (Phiesta)? Really???
If we find that someone uses offensive language we should simply choose not to associate with them. Vote them out of office. Boycott their product.
People have been offensive in speech since the beginning of mankind. We should not allow the PC crowd to divide us. Each one of us can surely take individual control over those that we choose to associate with and not associate with as well as how we handle situations where someone says something that is offensive. The whole idea of "Us against them" should be reserved for the BIG issues and not every little thing of daily life!
