New apartments for Genessee (Rt.33) and Harris Hill ?

"The Town Planning Board - Zoning Board and the Town Councilmember Liaison Donna Stempniak are all fully aware of all the issues that would nullify this project"

When is a "Pond" not a "Pond" - When is "Development" not "Progress"

This project is ill-conceived and ultimately just another problematic addition to Lancaster's Sewer, Water and Roads.

let's Start with water - this area has historically been "Wet" - building and paving over this property will cause runoff - run off that will flow onto neighbors properties. That in itself is against the building rules and Town Codes.

A true and honest traffic study by the County or State will bear witness to the overall traffic problems already existing. Not a study done by the developer.

The intersection suffers from lack of proper storm drains - anyone who drives through the intersection of Harris Hill and Genesee Road(Route 33) during or after even a small rain knows how it floods.

The street itself was recently repaved - all one has to do it look at the shoulders of the North side of Genesee (Rt 33) East of Tim Horton's - the roads edges are collapsing due to the weight of tractor trailers. Anyone who drives west bound on Genesee(Rt 33) in the morning or evening knows there's at least a three traffic light change - before you get to and past Harris Hill.

Anyone who has paid any attention to Lancaster's infra structure - sewer, water, roads - how often lately do you read in the Bufnews about "Water lines break in Lancaster - sewer line ruptures in Lancaster - Flooding occurs in Lancaster - Bowmansville floods again."

The Town Planners and the Town Councilmembers know about these issues - they know besides that area being naturally flood prone - as if mother nature wasn't enough - the Town approved another 18 MILLION GALLONS of water from the stone quarry to be pumped into Ellicott Creek - just east of Harris Hill Road on Genesee Rd(Rt 33).

Not to mention the planned expansion of the Topps warehouse - that too will add more semi trucks - night and day - 24/7.

A holding/retention pond is only designed to stall the flow of run off water - it slows down what's directed into it. Its a proved fact that not only does rain water get directed into it - but so does runoff from streets - down spouts on houses and yard drains. It has also been proved and the Town Councilmen know - the water in those ponds is not fit for humans to come in contact with or your pets - they will retain and gather trash and chemicals flushed into it.

Everything from petroleum, paving residue to yard chemicals are washed into these retention/holding ponds. Yet the Town Planners and even some developers actually act like its a "Feature or water front" area as a selling point.

One creative developer called them "Lancaster Lake Front Lots" To this day I can't find the "Lake" near Central and Walden - maybe they moved that too - have you seen it ?

Last point that sticks out in the minds of some residents - isn't this the same golf course our Town Councilmembers wanted the Town to buy ?

Our town government will not be happy until we no longer have any green space left. Look how close we are now.

Developers don't care about green space. They can make money and buy green space in other areas of the community.

Just curious. If you took the 4 top developers in Lancaster where do they live? In Lancaster or another town?
