One can hardly believe that the CEO and the board of directors of the Buffalo Museum of Science don't have a plan for this institution. Change can be good, and everyone can learn to live with it. But it would have made the letting go of 32 people easier if they had known just why they were let go.
Meanwhile, it is very worrisome to think about what will happen to the valuable collections that are in this institution. With no one to supervise them, they can deteriorate fast. These collections - from anthropology, entomology, vertebrate and invertebrate zoology and the Clinton herbarium - are precious and belong to everyone in Erie County. These collections have contributed to research all over the world. We need to save them so they can still grow and contribute.
