Statement from Unshackle Upstate Regarding Governor Cuomo’s Executive Budget Proposal

    Posted: Jan 21st, 2014

“Governor Cuomo’s 2014-15 Executive Budget proposal reflects much of what Unshackle Upstate has long fought for – including limiting the growth of state spending and reducing taxes.

The governor’s plan to end the regressive 18a energy tax, reduce corporate taxes and eliminate the income tax on Upstate manufacturers will boost the Upstate economy and help create private sector jobs. Additionally, we’re pleased that Governor Cuomo has called for a complete review of the burdensome regulations that impede Upstate businesses. Meaningful regulatory reform is essential to improving New York’s business climate.
